Happy to see "catch and release" especially on these "Older Fish" …. great video and tips!
Awesome tip with the bottle.. great fish great job
+AmericanAnimalSolutions 36 Thanks!!
that's a smart idea with the bottle trick. love your videos. keep it up.
You forgot the Mountain Dew bottle on your gear list. Awesome videos. I’m going to have to gear up for those big whisker cats and night fishing. I see the truck in Prescott all the time. Hope to meet you sometime.
I lived around the twin cities for a number of years, never knew they had flat head like that up there
Really enjoyed this video!
I hate it when you get a fish on but you're also snagged around something I've lost a bunch fish that way. Especially bass how they deliberately swim towards the worst shit! Anyways nice job!
Just watched my first video from Northwoods. Liked it. Minnesota.
Nice job!👍👏👏
Exciting technique with the bottle. There really are some catfishing scientists in this world. Keep up the gnarly work, I'll be checking your videos out!
Thanks Joey!
That's a cool Idea Thanks for the tip! Good footage as always
Awesome video !!!
+TN CONSERVATIVE Thanks!
Nice video guys.
+Carolina Catfish Thanks again!
Great video - nice fish!!
Thanks Steve! Really appreciate it!
nice flats and cool trick
Good tip!
Like the channel! Freshwater catfish is one of my favorite fish to catch, especially on light tackle.
It's always fun catching fish on light gear but you may regret it when a 50 pound cat comes knocking!
Very awesome
wow amasing 👍👍👍
Hell of a catch great job👍
The flathead around me are such light biters 99.9% of the time and have to really pay attention to your gear and once you are on em you'll definitely be hooked to chasing after them the rest of your living days and there's nothing that beat trophy flathead in my opinion!
Excellent fishing🎣🎣🎣🎣❤❤❤❤
Great stuff, recently started my own channel. Live in MN too, nice to see some good fish getting caught 😄
Thanks Drew! Mn is a great place for fishing! We will check you out!
+Northwoods Angling of coarse, I'm not as big a channel but gotta start somewhere right 😄
Nice one.
Man that's awesome . Great video.
Thanks Stephen!
Northwoods Angling love your vids keep up the good work
Nice job fellas
Thanks Lyle!
Nice 👍🏽
nice fish!
+dani hess Thanks!
Gad! What a beast!
I'm a new sub ready to watch some monster catches!!!!!
Thanks Matt! New one will be up this weekend!
Have you tried the Mississippi between the Red Wing dam and Lake Pepin? Monster fish! There are also monster fish in Lake Pepin but they are harder to track down. But, if you want some smaller cats for eating, there are a lot of good spots on the lake.
pete sampson Love that area!
Nice fish good fight
+Cody Cayford Thanks Cody!
wow!
Thanks! Appreciate the feedback!
Dude you remember that magic night in my boat when we couldn't keep up with the rods? The fish were hitting so hard the rods were trying to fly overboard and we kept catching them mid-air? I'll never forget that spot... it was insane.
And you landed a 27" walleye out of my boat. That makes 3 walleye over 27" that were landed while I was in the boat, 2 of which were actually in MY boat... because Jeff landed one in the exact same spot you did a week later.
That is still one of the best night I've had fishing - was constant action!
We do eat some smaller ones on occasion.... but after a night of fishing until 1 or 2 AM we never want to clean fish - its just pack up and get home to get some sleep before work in the morning! lol
great video ! were abouts are you guys fishing ? i fish around twin cities on the Mississippi and got into a few 50lb flatheads and tons of 40lbs my friend guides trips there , my buddy relased a potential record there
Hey guys I saw your truck on Saturday by the Mississippi River and I looked you guys up and I watched all of your videos and I love them. It would be great to do a fan meet up by the Mississippi River sometime
We appreciate that!! If you follow the Facebook page, that is most likely where we would announce anything like that and also where we do all of our giveaways at the moment. Right now we are giving away 3 hats for anyone who shares our latest post on the page. Tight lines!!

nice
awesome idea on un snagging.
Learned that technique while gator gar fishing in Texas.
Nice
Nice flatheads.
Wow that's the biggest catfish I ever saw. We don't have catfish very big where im from we also don't have alot of warm weather or anything fun to do at all I'm just dead inside.
👍👍
Good Lawd
hey didnt i fish with you guys years ago on the mississippi in dresbach for cats? a few of us guys from catfish1 got together.
Wow there you can throw a baseball across it. Where I live it takes 3 minutes to drive across it. Or two if traffic is 60 or so.
Whats that song in the middle? I loved it
You should come to the Tabaco river there's huge channel cat
next time you do that put a chemical light stick in the bottle.
you can thank me later.
+TPHVICTIMS Will try that!
I've done that with 20 oz Pepsi bottles jugs.talk about a blast! underwater glow with only a trolling motor super rush!
I just sub
+Reginald Malain Thanks Reginald!
On the first fish all you needed to do was go downstream of the wood pile.
I know you are fishing during the summer BUT do you fish them during the winter months on the Mississippi River?
Josh Skalisky Flatheads winter here in Minnesota and it is also illegal to target them as they are very vulnerable during the winter months.
what reels are you using? love it if you respond! but no pressure!
dani hess The first reel is a Penn spinfisher and the second is a shimano
Why did the fish stay still when first put back in the water? I expected it to shoot off somewhere.
Fish get tired out...its not good to just throw them back. You need to pass water over their gills so they can get oxygenated again and "waken up"
Man I'm from out of state and I am really looking for a good place to fish were do y'all recommend???
Mississippi River!
Both are real so there we go
lol what did we think was not real about this? Thanks for confirming Teri :)
"Oh, that's a decent fish" that's what happens when you catch fish that size non stop man most people call a 10 pounder a monster
This looks exactly like the fish that got away from me today😰 I was alone, he was right at the bank, I was afraid to put my hand in his mouth and pull him on in😡 I'm never going alone again!
Hahaha yeah fish can be kind of intimidating to grab. Especially big catfish. Lol
Where on the river are you? I'm up here in Minnesota with you, and haven't had much luck with flathead.
Duncan Ewoldt We were fishing back water off the main current near St.Paul
Cool thanks, and great video
+Duncan Ewoldt We are all within 20 minutes of the cities. Fish mainly the Minnesota River and Pool 2 of the Mississippi by St. Paul.
I know this was a couple years ago but how far up are you on the Mississippi River there n MN? Up close to Bemidji?
Minneapolis area, there are no flatheads that far north.
I thought so! I love fishing the Bemidji area! That lake is crazy during ice season!!
On a ugly stik to hell yeah
how much did that way
Reel?
I see you
See you back!
whereabouts in MN was this??
Mississippi River Pool 3
Have to ask what kinda camera are y'all using??
Back then it was just a DJI osmo and Nikon 3200 DSLR. We have since upgraded to a Sony A7sii
@@NorthwoodsAngling that picture is so crisp, clear, and steady. It almost looks fake. Im not saying that it's fake. I love y'all channel. Don't believe me. Eat some 🍄and watch some of y'all's videos. The intensity 🤩!
what bait do you use?
Bullheads
What camera's are you using?
+Panfish DJI Osmo paired with Rode lav mics
anyway keep up the good work
Northwoods Angling Thanks!
You should do a challenge with a Barbie rod with 30 pound braid on it
Could be interesting stuff.....
What kind of bait were you u using
bullheads
+Northwoods Angling So whenver you used the bullhead, did you double hook it from front to middle or just single hook it?
Yo Fisherman single hook
Northwoods Angling I live in northern Missouri and fish the Missouri River and Bullheads are the best flathead bait known to man. Only thing here is they limit us to 9 inch bullhead to use as bait now but they still are the best. I've used 15 inchers befor they changed the rules. It limited the number of bites but you knew if you got one it was on. I've had 5 pounders inhale a 9 incher. Great video and I'm gona sub. Keep your lines wet and your powder dry!
Or you could just floated jur boat past the fish and real him in.. 👌😲😲
+Lucky Fawker LOL true that! It actually didn't work as planned, the bottle was too buoyant and wouldn't go under water. Next time I would use a small bobber or something less buoyant. Good catch!
How long was that fish
Which one?
Flat head monster
30 p ound flat head good eating
Why don't people tie a rope to their pole in case it pulls in, never thought on it until now
where are the bugs
Tayvion
When you hook him you should say god bless texas that is why you end up with that problem
What pay lake is this
I always catch n release the big ones they have too much mercury. I’d rather eat the smaller ones around 15”-18” just the right size.
You're not gonna need a bigger boat.
I'm a expert let me look up on the fish for a Weill and I'll tell you guys if it's real or edited
Catch and release catch 3 keep 2 catch 6 keep 3
I would not put that fish back
Minnesota has only small fish. I could be mistaken but i think the state record flathead is less than 80 lbs. And has been for decades. Big largemouth bass are pretty much non existent. Land of 10,000 ponds with small fish.
+Uncle Wreckum We do have some of the biggest muskie and smallmouth in the country, but yes in regards to catfish there is states with much bigger!
You guys got nothin’ on Kayak Catfish....sorry dudes
👍👍
