Super cool to see you kicking things off for Session Speedruns. I can't wait to see what kind of weird strats and cheeses can be developed. I don't know if i'd ever run the game myself, but never say never lol
I can't imagine speedrunning all historic challenges with the shitty registering, I just finished them all today and philly was an absolute pain, mad props to you if you manage to get a good time on these
I think I’ll work on all of them after they fix the 2 long lines at the banks and after I learn routes for each map
I do hope the speedrunning community gives the game a try, especially with the weird fps dependencies for flips and the hacky ways to complete the missions. I think it would be really cool to see you in the GDQ stage my dude 😎
I had so many historical challenges never register (looking at you, Welcome to Hell) that I can't imagine ever attempting speedrunning those babies!
Yeah I’m kind of scared of the Lower Manhattan speedrun. I might not even attempt it until they fix the Welcome To Hell and Nate challenges. I’m really hoping Nick fixed it before he left Creā-ture :(
I got that one easily enough after someone tyold me to not bone the ollie over the fence, but there are some of the love park lines that have been driving me insane, just dunno what I'm doing wrong!

I was practicing to the skate shop meet up and have a PB of 17 minutes 30ish seconds. So psyched it’s close to your time as it felt really stressful haha

It definitely would make speed running the game less committing! I’m not really a speed runner but it’s been fun just to practice that one section. That being said I really like running it doing all the tricks rolling/proper and getting that as fast as possible rather than standing still, even though that’s obviously faster. Maybe a subcategory in the future?

TAS has always been my bread and butter but I guess Tool can't assist me on this one
You should add a category for TAS. Feel like those would be fun to watch in the future

@@JLNightmare fair enough. I've been involved in other speed running communities before and having people mess with TAS is very healthy. It helps discover new ways to break the game and develop strats
I can't finish 2 missions where you need to place a plywood object. I will briefly describe the problem: if you place an object and fail it into textures, then this object cannot be deleted later. in the object editor, I can not select it for deletion, rotation, etc. it would be great if the developers added a feature to completely remove all objects from the map.
Is it an object from your inventory? Cause if it is, you just hold the Recall button and it goes back into your inventory
Do you know if there is a way on Xbox to record your screen for a duration of 2h and include the speedrun timer, so I as an Xbox player an participate in speedruns in session and other games?
To do this you will need a capture card and a PC. You need to connect your Xbox to the capture card and set up OBS Studio and LiveSplit on your PC

I think there should be a default stats run mode
Won't auto-revert being off prevent you doing some of the Louie Barletta missions that require a revert? I know I had to re-enable them when I was doing those.
Auto revert saves you from potential bails (if you land slightly sideways it will auto correct and straighten your board). You can still revert
@@JLNightmare ah of course, “auto revert on bail” not “revert on ground”.
Do you know how to reset your progress on story mode on console? I'm pretty sad there are no missions left to do 😭
All you do is create a new skater in the apartment.

One thing I’ll note IF you are going to go for the Manual Catch trophy (if you haven’t already) is set to manual catch before you create a new skater.. otherwise the trophy won’t pop up for that skater.
(There’s also a trophy for visiting all 3 apartments ;))

I need a how-to with the speed run site.. idk if I’m doing it right but.. all I did was press record on my ps4, did the Jerome Banks historicals Auto-off, trimmed it using my ps4, and then uploaded it to youtube that way. And then copy and pasted the link on the speedrun site, put a description, time stamps, etc… but I saw you and the other guys video and it had a timer counting down, looked better quality and was a bit more professional than mine lol… am I missing anything? If you have the time, holler at me and I’ll be super appreciative of some guidance. Bc I got 4 more runs to upload, just wanna make sure I’m doin em right.

Oh you did it right, it just needs to be verified after being submitted. I see it here and I’m about to verify it :)
The timer is used on PC. For console you would have to capture your gameplay to the Pc using a capture card, then have an overlay for the timer. Don’t worry too much about that tho, I can retime your run so it’s accurate before I verify.
If there are any issues I will DM you on the speedrunning site
One thing tho… you didn’t reload the map after you showed the settings.. so that moment you loaded the map is when the time starts, the time now included you showing your stats… HOWEVER I’ll start your time as soon as you exit the pause menu
I retimed your run and you got 7m59s. I have entered in the correct time and verified your run

Skating at the speed run is easy to complete different historical challenges in Sessions!
I would like to do a speed run but I suck at the game haha
Why are map mods not allowed?
I set the no modding rules so that it covers any mods that will do stuff like make you instant complete missions (if someone ever makes that) or fly around the map with pin droppers. It just makes it so everything you do in the run is something that can be done in the vanilla game
At this point I’m just waiting for mods on console lol
Gonna be waiting an extremely long time or forever.. I don’t think they will allow modded content on console

Speedrunning the game in general, historical challenges, story mode.. just had to wait till they finalized everything. I like speedrunning and even started this channel based on speedrunning Levels in Mario Maker. So yeah, been waiting a long time for this

You know any game can be speedrun right? Any game and any type of game.. It’s still completing the challenges required in the game just quickly
@@JLNightmare just seems silly to me and a waste of time, i cant see someone who actually skates and enjois this game for what it is suppose to be for, would ever even think about doing a speed run of the objectives, especially since your glitching the objective, whats the point, wheres the challenge
Think about this for a second: Playing video games in general is a waste of time. Watching videos on UA-cam about video games is a waste of time, but it’s fun right?
So if you think speedrunning isn’t fun for you then don’t do it, but others find it fun.
To me it just gives me an extra thing to like about this game cause I can play it realistically and then I can have different fun with speedrunning.
And you say where the channel? Try speedrunning it and see ;) not as easy as it looks to get good times
