The flip mechanics are sick. Love the board control. You can almost FEEL your skater's shoes eating away with the new sound. That sewer map has so much good stuff to skate I get sucked in to one section and neglect the rest of the map haha
Speaking of QOL updates, how about an apartment "customize board" option to select your default board? So that when it breaks, that's the go to. Would be a welcome change.
Honestly this is an amazing video and your transparency with the issues that exist still and your general openness is refreshing to see in the development process. I wish every game operated like this

Also when u break boards would be really sweet if u could pick a board from your inventory right away instead of going to apartment. Have a backpack in pause like skate 1 did
i just tried it and ALL the flip animations have improved a lot and i feel much more in control over their style. love the sound update too! 2 things i'm REALLY looking forward to getting fixed: -the weird bounce you often get when landing big drops -walking controls
Really great update! Thanks for all the hard work, this fixed a lot of the issues I had with the game. I spent a little while playing it to see what I'd still like to be improved, and I figured I should give my own small bug report just for transparency: - When I ollie out of smith/feeble grinds, the skater just does a weird nollie bounce instead - 120fps has a much slower flip/scoop speed than 60fps - Straight-pop shuvits out of tailslides don't actually pop straight, instead going off to the side - During grinds, my skater's ankles sometimes do a 360 rotation - The board disassembles when it does fast 360 flip tricks along with fast 360 body rotation on 60fps with max flip/scoop speed
over 60fps gameplay has been busted since early in early access, and doesn't seem like it's going to change any time soon, and one of the devs admitted to not understanding wanting to play above 60fps. I'd love for them to do something about that one, but I don't have a lot of hope on that one.
My son is going to be stoked to see me play as TMNT. I actually just saw the movie tonight with my kids. Great movie! Session is killing it lately. Been a big fan of Tmnt since I was like 5. Glad my kids can enjoy Tmnt as much as I did as a kid.
The updated gameplay nuances have - for me - opened up the potential of the game so much.. starting to feel how I always wanted it to. Fantastic update! Lovely surprise. I have up skating because of my health and weak ass knees, but after having a tight group of friends who i sponsored with the clothes and decks i screen printed and stickers i make. We have since just shared skate clips on ig, but after getting this game. I feel like a skateboarder again. Good content! Its a little bitter sweet though, lol. I have a sewer map more than halfway built, with a turtle base and filters to skate with. As always though Crea-ture did a great job, and I welcome whatever they do for the game even if it effects the mods we build. The games always better after! Much love Crea-ture, and nice video JL!

Idk how I feel about the board staying under your feet, irl the board will/can move away from you if you don't do something correctly. QUESTION: When will board mounting & dismount (getting on/off) be implemented? For multiple dismount animation , a multi-button press could be incorporated. Also speaking of animations, falling or the resistance too.. would like to see the avatar trying to catch themselves by putting hands to the ground and trying to roll out or stepping/running to keep their balance.. instead of just freezing up and going limp.

if this isn't proof the game left early access way too soon i don't know what is. the fact that the "rubberbanding" mentioned in the beginning of the video wasn't fixed during alpha, but made it all the way to the "full" release, is mind-boggling. but hey, now that the team is finally hiring more people, maybe they can actually produce a finished product!
This is massive news!!! Best session news ive heard in the 7 or so months ive been playing. 3 things id love to see going forward would be a proper on/off board animation, being able to grab your nose or tail while in nose and tail slides and the third one (i know some people passionately hate this buuut) no-comply tricks.
Great seeing this, my entire childhood during the 90's was TMNT. Those first live action movies that came out were huge. As for the update, i like it, its closer to what we were used to, so its given me hope for the future of the game.
Would love to see some creative filters....like an animated, cartoon filter, or like a candyland filter, or outer space background or something... Im sure theres a ton of creativitiy there for that camera lens feature.
I was psyched about the gameplay fixes, but a tmnt crossover?? Big, big, big props to Crea-ture for this one! Excited to see what else the future brings!
It's great to see that they're continuing to improve the game :) For me, the areas that need work are : - the turns, they're too abrupt/saccadic. I find the turns in skater XL much easier to handle and prettier. - camera movements. They're too statistical, and sometimes you can't see the gap you're arriving at. - the animations, which I still find very rigid.
Love the updates! Is anybody else having a problem with the skater just falling? It’s like I’m rolling around and hit a rock. That’s what it reminds me of. About the same irritation level.

Great update overall. One thing I’ve noticed in both auto and manual catch, when using the joystick to pitch into blunts/noseblunts; when you come off the rail the board is still pitched. I tested this by olliing off something high, pitching into a noseblunt and letting go of the joystick. My character went back to a forward facing position but the nose was still pitched down. This is particularly annoying when you’re coming off handrails as your front wheels aggressively hit the ground first.
Great update, I do see this starting to look real good, still I find some inconsistencies on the controls for some stuff like for example when you are in the air moving your stick up or down does point de board down on the board no matter what, instead of bringing it forward backward, makes the gameplay feel more stiff than it could be and it is not that realistic as well. And the input for reverts after a trick with the sticks when doing rotation tricks like 180's feel weird in terms of the same input making you revert on both directions depending on how much rotated are you when you land on the ground. Let's say you do a bs180, rotate 90 degrees in the air, and finish with a revert. If you do one revert input and you land 89 degrees rotated backside it will do the proper revert, but if you do the same input while landing at 91 degrees y reverts back to regular as if it was shifty. Makes sense since all the stance in the game is camera relative, but it feels weird in practice. Also would love click to catch, it feels more natural for a lot of people.

New map is sick! I've been having a lot of fun with the spine and the skatepark area. One other thing I noticed too, it feels easier to do proper pivots in a manual without the wheels touching down. I don't know if that was actually changed, like the timing window to shift your weight after the revert is bigger, or I'm just getting better at the timing but I know I struggled bad before the update, and now I can do them pretty consistently, like maybe 3 out of every 5 attempts.

Are you guys going to be adding inverted vertical camera controls for object placement and filmer mode/replay editor? I find these features very difficult to use with normal vertical camera movement.
Great info. One improvement I’d like to see is when your person stacks it. To look more realistic. Then just folding like deck chair. Other than that love this game. Also are we going to see other skate brands enter the fray. Also own map builder like for skatepark would be mint too
Nice update!! But there is this one „glitch“, you probably already know about. If you got to catch the big airs manually, there is no proper landing animation. The skater just lands like he is ollieing up a sidewalk.
Cool. can you PLEASE ask them to put the experimental grabs back in? I don't care they were janky as hell, they were still better than no grabs at all and I really need them to enjoy the game. I haven't enjoyed it since they took them out because it feels so wrong not being able to grab. I'm from the old school; I need grabs. Thank you.
Definitely moving in the right direction. I'd love more dynamic landings, as far as landing a little off-balance/sketchy. Goes with animations in general. Also, been playing Session for quite some time now, but still feel like the turning is kinda off. Can't really carve
@TeeJay-ue9pp i should've explained myself better. I'm saying you can't really "pump" carve, like you can on a real skateboard. The trucks don't feel very responsive and don't act like you'd expect trucks to act.
just got this game off GMG's summer sale. Just in time for my boys the Turtles! The little I"ve played so far has been cool, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the controls and I still keep trying to pop like I'm playing skate lol. But it feels good to nail a trick and the extra settings to lower or raise difficulty really help glad ya'll did that instead of just leaving it so hardcore. Can't wait to spend more time in this game.
May I ask about the panda helmet , is this just a cool addition? Or possibly a tribute ?? Reason I ask, one of my best friends was known for wearing the helmet in Cali and I'm just curious what inspired its addition. This had me in tears bro the moment I seen it. Beautiful addition Rip. slim 🙏🐼♥️
Gameplay fixes are what I'm most hyped for. Happy to see them. I do wish things were moving along a bit faster, but it is what it is, game dev takes time. The Ninja Turtles thing I'm a bit indifferent on, but it's kind of cool. I like that we can have the most realistic skateboarding game ever but still get a little wacky. I'm praying that second guy when showing the new developers was an animator. The game desperately needs an animation pass. Would love to be able to do throw downs. A few clean animations for picking up the board when standing still, walking or sprinting. Overall though, happy with this update. First one I've been excited for in awhile.

One thing that I would like. As a big update, it would be that the game had a free online saves mode to enjoy the spots and discover new ones, I would love to see how someone tries to achieve a trick towards slide or grinds

Great update btw, but I actually dont like this new dip down/up thing, cuz now if you want a steez kickflip on a gap, the front of the board will hit the ground first when you land. Unless you input for a 5-0 right before you land it, and that opens up a lot of bugs that we didnt have
I had the same thought and annoyance. A solution to this is to push one joystick up and the other down right as you catch, this will let you tweak your flips and catch them flat.

Skater- to-skater, is there any chance to tell the park designers to make the skate spots more realistically easy to skate please, I feel they are making almost every spot unrealistically sketchy and hard to skate (almost impossible run ups, obstacles in the way, etc) because in real life there are lots of perfectly clean spots to skate. And that seems like the point of the game to get the good feeling of landing good tricks, so I hope they allow us to let our imaginations for wild with tricks by making them easier to skate. Thanks a bunch

I just put the music volume to 0 and play Spotify or podcasts in the background lol
would be rad to have pre set difficulties and display a number on the screen so we know what settings people are rocking in their vids

Gameplay fixes are what I'm most hyped for. Happy to see them. I do wish things were moving along a bit faster, but it is what it is, game dev takes time. The Ninja Turtles thing I'm a bit indifferent on, but it's kind of cool. I like that we can have the most realistic skateboarding game ever but still get a little wacky. I'm praying that second guy when showing the new developers was an animator. The game desperately needs an animation pass. Would love to be able to do throw downs. A few clean animations for picking up the board when standing still, walking or sprinting. Overall though, happy with this update. First one I've been excited for in awhile.

One thing that I would like. As a big update, it would be that the game had a free online saves mode to enjoy the spots and discover new ones, I would love to see how someone tries to achieve a trick towards slide or grinds

Great update btw, but I actually dont like this new dip down/up thing, cuz now if you want a steez kickflip on a gap, the front of the board will hit the ground first when you land. Unless you input for a 5-0 right before you land it, and that opens up a lot of bugs that we didnt have
I had the same thought and annoyance. A solution to this is to push one joystick up and the other down right as you catch, this will let you tweak your flips and catch them flat.

Skater- to-skater, is there any chance to tell the park designers to make the skate spots more realistically easy to skate please, I feel they are making almost every spot unrealistically sketchy and hard to skate (almost impossible run ups, obstacles in the way, etc) because in real life there are lots of perfectly clean spots to skate. And that seems like the point of the game to get the good feeling of landing good tricks, so I hope they allow us to let our imaginations for wild with tricks by making them easier to skate. Thanks a bunch
