I built an extension table a year ago but didn't have the courage to use the hidden leaf hardware. Looks great, nice build man :)

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video. I totally get the intimidation, but in the end it’s not as scary as it seems until you do it again a few years down the road and forget all over again 😂
I bet your table came out great!

Lovely table. How do you feel about the stiffness at the full extension?

Great question. With the apron fixed to the table top, the table is reliably sturdy. Of course, there is slight movement with pressure once the extensions are out, but feels plenty sturdy for what it’s intended to be used for. The slides are high quality and not cheap. However, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend a dance party on top of it when extended.

Nice video and good looking table. May I ask where you got the extension hardware?

I don't see those joints holding up very long, there is a lot of leverage on dominoes and it has no bracing.

That’s a fair concern. I beefed it up pretty well and time will tell. Obviously adding a brace would certainly add strength, but it would completely change the aesthetic I was striving for. I know I’ll be back to visit my client in the future so I’ll have to do an update in due time. Thanks for sharing!

@@paxwoodworking I know its tough because you want the aesthetic but at the same time you need the strength I have designed many pieces over the years that have done that, its a tough balance to make floating pieces

@@paxwoodworking it's not easy to balance aesthetic with longevity sometimes, it's an art to make things look light and still be strong, you have to work to hide the structure
