1.Don’t sign up for union until after your 90 days they can’t help you
    2. Do as told until you finish your 90 days .
    3. Don’t be the help stay to yourself because you gonna be doing 4/5 people jobs (everything at your own pace; because they gonna give you more work)
    4. Know your contract

Actually yes- union *can* represent you in your first 90- it is on the representatives discression however. There are examples of wrongful termination attempts or issues, where within a carriers first 90 the union rep covers down and represents them. All you have to do is recognize you have weingarten rights and have the right to have a steward present with you if your job may he at risk. No matter what it is- so dont engage in any discussion without invoking that right! No matter what management says! Wait! Once you have a steward present, than proceed with discussion. A solid union steward will still guide you on your rights in the situation. If it is some innocent thing or you arent in the wrong there is a strong chance if you have a good steward, you will have representation through whatever is going on.
So no, if you do want or plan to be in the union do NOT be scared to join. Fun fact: they dont pull union dues out *even if you do join*, until a certainamount of days employed. And thats usually about the point a steward would utilize proper discretion on representation.
You are due representation past your 90 whether you are a union member or not- and a lot can be said there- but if you want a good lawyer dont be scared to invest. If concerned, ask fellow carriers how your union is local. Take note. If changes need to hapoen dont be scared to stand up and get active. That is in fact, the obly way local can change: active membership. 99% of 'bad local union representation' scenarios are because no one is acticely participating in being in the union to begin with. Fun fact.
And yes, at a much higher level the union is having issues properly representing carriers. But you better believe that eill be changing as he wont be our president after the next election, thanks to the horrible TA allowed to be presented to us (prior behavior didnt help his cause either but the TA cemented his bye bye card, promise!)

A word of advice to the new carriers out there. After your academy and OJI, plan on forgetting everything they teach you. I only say this because of how management pushes. However, DO NOT throw away mail. DO NOT push yourself too hard and keep your head on a swivel while driving. You MUST give your body time to adjust to this job. Day 82 I tore my calf muscle, trust me, you’ll need time to adjust. Good luck out there and BE SAFE. Keep that 30 year mindset.

Hey Jay! I’m almost pass my 90 days this month on the 26th my enter to duty date was back on June 29. I will say this whole process has been interesting. They had me come in as a PTF. My time so far is that the organization is very disorganized lol especially when we never had enough vehicles. More than half the people I came in with for orientation ended up quitting but for me the money is too good. Yes I have my frustration with the job but I always told myself that this has been helping pay a lot of my debt and finally catching up with life

I am almost done with probation, they told me it has to be 120 calender days cause it's easier...smh whatever. Haha I love your videos I've been watching since before I started and have been well prepared for everything. I love this job, my supervisors aren't that bad, I've had worse. The best part is how encouraging and helpful the other carriers are. I've been told that we're just waiting for a route to open up as I'm in a big office in so cal (Orange County) 12-16 mile routes. My 120 is up in October, thank you for all the videos and help J!

Literally just got my onboarding email with my orientation and defensive driver training, I’m hype. Definitely no stranger to manual labor just concerned about my feet. Hope this walking shoe investment is worth it. Thanks so much for your content! 🎉

And don't talk to someone while your instructor is speaking ! also do not join the Union till after your probation is over or till you become a regular Union will not represent you if your still on probation or just an MHA OR PSE THEY WILL NOT DO SHIT FOR YOU better to wait till you just become regular as long as you come to work and do your job 99% you will not even need the union just do you and stay in your lane and you'll be fine . Good luck 🙏🙏.
