This method is amazing!! Thanks for the tutorial. Ive wasted so much money on failed methods and now i finally found one that works and my pictures came out great
That’s awesome!! So glad it worked so well for you 😊
Thank-you for sharing this great idea! This is EXACTLY what I was looking for and was NOT willing to pay $150 at Amazon. You even made the list of items needed, I took a picture and will make this box this weekend.
It’s so simple to do as well!! Glad this was helpful! Thanks for watching 🤗
Thanks for the tutorial! This is very doable, especially compared to some of the other "$10" light box videos floating around. Was looking online and since I was looking for a rather large sized light box the price tag also tripled in price. I just used a big box, tracing paper and LED strips, no need to pay ridiculous amounts of money.
Great ideas!! I box works perfect if you have one large enough 🤗 Thanks for watching!
Omg this is great , I wanted to purchase a photography box for 65$ on Amazon but this easy tutorial saved me alot ! Thank you again👍🏻
So glad I could help!! Any dollar saved is worth it!!! Pretty simple to put together too 😊
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. Going to try this tomorrow. I'm so excited. 😍😍😍
So glad I could help! Thanks for watching 🥰
What is the name of the paper to cover the windows ....? Thanks! 🙏🏻
Interfacing (normally used for sewing) Thanks for watching!
For easier storage purposes, if you want a collapsible box, then using velcro to attach one edge of the foamboard and velcro for the translucent material might be a good idea. That way, after you have detached the featherweight interfacing acting as your diffuser, if you oversize the joints attached with masking tape they, can bend in on them selves and fold flat into a single square. The other option to avoid a lot of the cutting is to use A1 or A0 boards.
All great suggestions!! Thanks so much for sharing and watching 🤗
I found the interfacing for $5 at Walmart! Made my light box yesterday. Your video was so helpful!!
Erica LaShan awesome!!! Walmart definitely has the best pricing! So glad I could help 🤗
Just made mine! Brilliant! Thank you so much!

Chocolate Lilly Farmstead Glad this could help 🤗 Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video. I am going to make one!
That was pretty cool, thanks for the great idea, and have a wonderful weekend!
hondorockz Thanks for watching 🤗 Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks so much for this, I made a few changes but your design is rock solid. I used white Coroplast and white duct tape for durability as it will be getting a ton of use.
I decided to use three Bower 8in table top light rings from Walmart here in BC, they were a little pricey at $29.98 but they work amazingly well. I needed the added adjustable brightness of 3000K~6000K. Great finale to the video!!!
So glad you found this helpful! Love to hear how you are adapting this. Sounds like great changes! Thanks so much for watching! 🤗
Thank you for the tutorial!
Thanks for watching 🤗
Thank you for helping us this will be helpful to so many people . Thank you so much 😭😢
Your welcome 😊 Thanks for watching!
Donna, I finished my light box. Stupid me was so excited that I put it all together without cutting the holes into the sides and top, so I ended up having to take some of it apart, cut the holes and put it back together. I love it. Just used it to take pictures of some shoes and it is great. Thank you again so much for sharing this. PS, so proud of me, I thrifted the lights today for a total of $5 (so lucky). Hugs, Joanne
That’s totally something I can see myself doing lol!
I should have tried to Thrift my lights- great idea to keep it budget friendly!! 💕🤗
The best tutorial ever!! Thanks a lot
Glad I can help 🤗

I made your photo box the other day it didint come out as nice as yours but it still works great! Thank for this video!
Thanks for watching! Sorry to hear it didn’t turn out- maybe your next one will be better🤗
It turned out great! Some of my lines could've been better cut, I should've just bought a cutting mat and not try to freestyle it lol
@@GTA6VIGameguy If it still works that’s all that matters then!!
I will try it , Thank you
You’re welcome 😊 Thanks for watching!
Very helpful video thankyou😍
Glad I could help 🤗
I remembered I watched this video of yours when it came out originally. I never got around to trying it out but I think I’m going to try it now. I have lights hanging every which way in my basement but it is still tricky to try to get the right lighting and the cords get in my way a little. I’ll try to report back, hopefully with good news. Thank you for all you do!
Definitely let me know how it turns out and what you think!! 🤗 Thanks for watching!!
Prices have come down a lot on light boxes. I just bought a whole portable kit with two lamps on mini tripods from Amazon for $45 and there were plenty of others that were cheaper. If you already have most of this stuff around your house, I say go for it. But, if you're starting from scratch it might be a better investment to buy a complete kit like I did. She said the total project cost was about $36. For me, the time savings and portability factor is worth the price difference to just buy the kit. YMMV.
Rosalind Gash thank you for this information. I have some of the stuff but not all, so will definitely check out this option as well. I have tried to make my own set up in the basement but would prefer a more organized safer option. Thanks again, much appreciated!!
Great job thanks👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks for watching 🤗
Excellent instructional video! If you're not a teacher, you should be! Thank you!
Thanks!! Glad you found the video helpful :)
Thanks! I'd do this a little different, but good idea.
Sarah R. Trenchard You can definitely tweak this to meet your needs! Thanks for watching 🤗
cool, really useful thx!
Glad it was helpful 🤗
EXCELLENT !
Thanks for watching! :)
I think I’m going to tape the outside joints instead of the inside. Great job!!!
Yes! Great idea! I wish I had done that in hind sight 😊 Thanks for watching!
Taping the outside worked well. I also used a wider masking tape, which I think made life a little easier. I cut the holes for the light a little too small the first time, but that’s better than cutting them too big. 😂👍🏼
Great to hear!! I’m glad that worked out for you. Great suggestions 😊
Resale Tips & Tales thank you for your informative video and for being such a nice lady. 👍🏼😁
@@TipsnTales ok
Very informative tutorial! I think I'm gonna use white duct tape since it is made of cloth and adds more adhesion to the box walls. Tracing paper can also be used as a substitute for fusible interface.
Great idea!! Some viewers also mentioned placing the tape on the outside of the box. Thanks for watching. 🤗
@@TipsnTales Yeah, much easier too to put the tape on the outside =)
Thank you Madam for this wonderful and quite helpful video that i was looking for.
So glad I could help!! 🤗
@@TipsnTales Could you please tell me what mobile camera specifications are good to take photos for my own ecommerce store or I should get a formal camera for this purpose,
@@101stuf6 I use my iPhone 8. No specific settings really. I also sometimes use the PhotoRoom App to clean things up if needed :)
@@TipsnTales thank you.
nice accurate cuts!
I’m somewhat of a perfectionist lol thanks for watching 💕
Resale Tips & Tales Thank you so much for this, now I can continue do my work at night.God bless
You should get yourself some photographers gaffer tape and it comes in a ton of colours. It can be removed from just about anything it is applied to and easily tears into smaller sizes. Just go to Amazon and you will find it there and it’s pretty cheap for the size of roll you get and it’s an amazing product for so many uses.
Great suggestion! Thank You 😊
Good job.
Thank your for the video
Of course! Thanks for watching!
Hai mom...very creative..like it..
Thanks for watching! :)
Loved your video.

Wish I had seen this before I spent big bucks on a lightbox that is awful. Thanks for the video; gonna get the supplies to make one like this :)
Sorry for the timing but hopefully this will help you out!! I love mine! 🤗
Yes, excellent video very detailed and very appropriate!
Thanks for watching! Glad you found it helpful 😊
Donna, I love that AND you. Thank you so much doing this. Don't you know where I will be headed tomorrow to get my supplies. You are the best for showing us how to do this. Thank you again!! Hugs, Joanne
🤗 So glad I could share!! I’ve been procrastinating this project for so long! But it made picture taking a breeze today! I’m in love with this box 😊 💕
can you pls share the link.I want to buy it too,It is a very good bargain
All of the links are in the video’s description. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for watching! 🤗
Nice tutorial. Did you find those Great Value 100 watt equivalent bulbs were enough for the task? Thanks.
I’ve been very happy with my box & lights. I think you could also go brighter with the lights if you can find them :) Thanks for watching!
thank you mam nice video
Nice video,thank you...
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching 🤗
I used battery operated led lights 2 for $5.00 from five & below
Oh wow! Just curious - Are they bright enough?
Very nice :)
Thanks for watching 🤗
Очень красиво, у вас золотые руки!
A good idea with these foambords instead of using tape is using dressmaker pins. Its less visible and as sturdy! If u use long pins even more sturdy.
AND you can take the box apart for storage.
But thanks for the tutorial! Gonna make this! 😊
Great suggestion! Thank you 😊
For that bottom piece you could probably use Velcro strips so that you can bread it down when not in use. :)
Great idea! Thank You 😊
Nice video! Tissue paper is much cheaper to use than interfacing.
Jill Henderson Great idea!! I was just scared it would rip too easily. But definitely a good option!
nice job
Murat Gündüz Thanks for watching :)
@@TipsnTales 🙏
I'm going to attempt a version of this but for a 5ft backdrop. Wish me luck.
Wow! That will be huge! Let me know how it turns out!
@@TipsnTales No problem. I am waiting for the hubby to get off to help me. I will be using sheet rock (if possible), amongst other things, to create it. I want to build it into a small area into my garage. We will see. I'll keep you posted.
Can you take flatlays in a lightbox? I have an etsy shop and I want to take my main pictures in a flatlay manner. Would I need to cut a hole to mount a camera?
I would suggest peeling the lining back on the top and secure it back to take the pictures. However this box will not hold the weight of a camera and you will probably need a top light source as well. Hopefully this will give you a few ideas.
Thanks for great idea.. I m from india.. jewellery wholesaler..
This would be perfect for jewelry 😊
How well does it do at taking photos with absolutely no shadows? I'm taking photos for 30ml CBD tincture bottles and wanting to use the magic wand tool in photoshop to remove everything but the bottle in a PNG file with transparency background. The photo setup I've been using leave some shadow and that leads to jagged little edges when I use magic wand to erase everything but my bottle. Trying to find a better solution but hate to build this and find out I still have some shadowing.
direwolf1972 It’s all about the lighting honestly- I still get some shadows depending on the item. However I’ve been using the PhotoRoom app and it is AMAZING to edit your photos with. Here is the link to my review about it:
ua-cam.com/video/pp5BHaFvqk0/v-deo.html
My Walmart only sells led lamps now. Don't know why they don't sell any desk lamps that I can put light bulbs in, I had to improvise and get clamp lights
Clamp lights should work great as well ! 😊
your kids are so cute and u'r tutorial to thanks
Thanks so much for watching ☺️
Hi there! The clear ruler you are using, where did you get it? Its so cool😎
Joann Fabrics 😊
@@TipsnTales thank you for sharing🤗

Thanks! 😊
I’m sorry. I haven’t finished watching the video.,,IM IN LOVE WITH YOUR PENDANT LIGHTS! 😍😍😍Where’d you get them?!
Came with the house when we bought it 😂 Sorry!
The Walmart where I'm at sucks
The Observer You can always try Target or ordering online?
I used white duct tape from Dollar Tree
PERFECT! Wish I had thought of that 🤗
This video is very good informative for photographer's. What kind of cloth used to cover the box?
Thanks! I’m glad you found it to be helpful!
It is called Feather Weight Interfacing:

@@TipsnTales Thanks for information.
Thanks for the tutorial. I would love to see how the pics turn out. Do you have any link(s) you can share?
My eBay & Poshmark store links are in my bio. Just realize that some pictures in my stores are Pre-Light box :) Thanks for watching!
Will smaller items work good with a bigger box
This size is great for smaller items such as shoes and figurines etc
Hi. Thanks for the great video. It was very helpful. I made the light box with your tutorial. But when I checked, the lamps you mentioned can use only 40 watts light bulb. Kindly advise of any electrical hazard of using 100 watts bulb in them. Thanks again.
I haven’t had any issues, but thank you for sharing that information. I turn mine off and unplug every time so not to create any electrical issues. I wonder if it’s better that I am using LED bulbs? The box says they only give off 15.5 watts due to being LED. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@TipsnTales Yes, you are right. Your bulbs are labelled as 100W-equivalent to give the consumer (who is accustomed to traditional incandescent bulbs) a sense of how bright the bulbs will be. However, they only draw 15.5W because LED lights are so efficient; they should be safe in the fixture.
Thanks for clarifying that for us!! Also thanks for watching :)
ShoW!!!
did you use white light bulbs or yellow?
I believe they are white
