This is simply amazing! I've never seen anything like it and inspiring as it is, it is also incredibly intimidating. I'm in awe of the array of genuine vintage ephemera you have sourced and, as a hoarder, I also envy your ability to part with it. Best of luck with your sale, this is a truly glorious acquisition for an appreciative buyer. For something as valuable as this I think it should have a hidden bookplate that is signed and dated.

Two days ago I was scrolling my feed and saw the short. I watched it, but never saw who posted it, and thought I'd love to see what that looks like on the inside. I kept scrolling, hoping it would pop up. But, no, it didn't. So, yesterday when I ticked my subscriptions, there it was!! How did I miss that the short was yours?? I have no idea. But what I DO know is that this is an AWESOME idea, and so cleverly put together. It is gorgeous from front to back, and back to front again! 🤩🤩 ... The only books I have ever seen like this are children's storybooks from the 40's/50's in antique stores. It is '2 books in 1' of classic children's stories of the time. But I have NEVER seen a handmade journal like this, anywhere. Your journals are already 'one of a kind.' But this one is a two-in-one of a kind. 😁😍It is beautiful! 💐🏆✨
Oh, my goodness, this book is so full of incredible inspiration! I just love it! So beautiful, so interactive, and so much fun. Thank you, Sara-Lee, for sharing your wonderful ideas. You always make me want to create.
Hi Sara-Lee, wow, this is stunning, so many things to love about this beauty! I see that this is already sold, congratulations, I hope you got a very pretty penny for this, so much work and of course, love put into it. I love how it has both a masculine and a feminine side and a small detachable journal in the middle, who thinks of these things 🤷🏻♀️, I know I don’t 😂, you are so very creative and with your own masterpieces of drawings and paintings! As I said earlier so many things to love about not only this beauty but all of your beauty’s, you never stop to amaze us. Thanks for the inspiration and as always the visit and see you next year👍💖🇦🇺🥰🤗
Of course, you did this and came up with a name- Thank you! I found a vintage book with 2 stories in it, depending on front flipping or back. The call of the wild/ Black Beauty. It inspired the thought to do a " topsey turvey" journal. That is as far as I got. Thank you for the inspiration to get going on this! You truly inspire my crafting over and over! ❤❤😊 Your work is beautiful and ingenious.
Wow this journal has left me speechless, so beautiful and chunky, I love chunky so many diffrent elements on every page, blows my mind. Wishing you Sara-Lee a Very Happy New Year. xxxx

@melody_tune991simms smaller, 4-5mm but I would get a variety of sizes in both beads and eyelets, some bigger than the above and some smaller. Generally, anything I use like that is under 1cm, though, but that's just me. Closures, check out my journals that have metal Closures, I also do a closure with Chicago flathead screws and elastic

I love the one with the slide that opens up and allows you to take out the postcard and also the one with the bookmark/postcard closure for the tri-fold hidden writing space. You are so creative with your pockets and hidden spaces. There is so much to see in this journal, I'm thinking I need to watch the video a few more times. Thanks for the flip through. I just finished watching this video. WOW. What a wonderful work of art and great composition (both sides!). I do think I've seen front/back journals, but on a much smaller scale. I wish I could recall who/what video. Your realization of the two sided journal is just fantastic. There are SO many ideas popping out here and there - I don't think I can retain them all. And you get some really cool "stuff". I've been to and through Schulenberg Texas many times. Probably most as a kid when we moved from San Antonio to Houston (actually Spring Tx). I live in Central Texas. I have a couple questions - there's a paper 23:18 - I'm curious where it came from, right side, looks like stitching instructions? Then at 28:31 a really cool paper on the left side. Otherwise, I'm just whelmed with the uniqueness and everything. WOW! I can't believe you'd part with it and I'm curious if it sells. So, you'll see the future before we do, huh? That's a great way to put it. I liked that comment (however you said it) a lot. I have original and digitals of some of the coolest old family photos, waaay back. Including I think what are called cabinet cards? And several tin types. When I see what you do with some of those copies/originals I wonder if/how I would work them into a journal. I'm still in the wondering, organizing and reorganizing of craft stuff. STUCK. Still. Wow thank you so much for the time you took to write this comment, I am overwhelmed l. My apologies it's taken so long to respond, I just wanted to make sure I responded in kind when I had time 🥰 The two papers you mentioned: The first was a random little book, that was only 6 pages long that I picked up at an op shop (thrift store) I believe it was just a random publication and I'll never find another. It may have been a little instruction manual to a sewing project. The second was just my hand dyed paper with stencilling over it using a soft brush. It did indeed sell, but I am yet to hear from the buyer as to what she will do with it, I'm dying to know!
@ thank you for answering my questions. I think I wanted to cry when you said it sold. What a reaction, huh? It’s 3:34 a.m. I just watched two silly animal meme videos. It’s an emotional insomnia moment. 🤣🧐😂. Seriously, almost cried! ❤️
Well you've out done yourself again it's stunning. One day you will say 'No this one isn't for sale' and because you've been able let to let Arabella go (that one I don't know how my favourite) and this one then that will be to most stunning journal of all I just don't know how you can part with them and the fantastic vintage items in them. I'm yet to find an auction to source some of these things and I'm not new to auctions just don't seem to have many around here for quite a few years. I have a request please if you can help me, I've been trying to source the little crimps you use for threads in tassels, ones I ordered from Temu are so small they can't crimp more than 3 threads max. I know you get a lot from Temu but I'm obviously not searching on the right description and I've scrolled down many many pages. Hope you and your family have a wonderful New Year.
@tezag7561 aaaw thank you, I have appreciated your support so m7ch this year 🥰🥰🥰 yes they're from temu, but are you in NZ my understanding is that temu is different by country? I will try fish out the link. Oh and don't get rid 9f the tiny ones, they're great for securing a charm to the end of a signature thread 🥰🥰🥰
@@sara-leearmstrong5009 I'm Australia and like you say they stock different stuff per country. I'll keep looking. I have the ones that are top crimpers so I'm trying that with the hanger piece nipped of it'll work just have to take them to the shed so they aren't sharp. We learn to work around things. I came across a different hidden paperclip I don't think I've seen you use yet unsure if you have seen one, it has a tab with eyelet to it and a small pocket either side just right for some stamps it's similar in size to your label one. I saw it in a quick flip through so had a go. Thanks for your reply.

@ thank you for answering my questions. I think I wanted to cry when you said it sold. What a reaction, huh? It’s 3:34 a.m. I just watched two silly animal meme videos. It’s an emotional insomnia moment. 🤣🧐😂. Seriously, almost cried! ❤️
@jennr7500 aaaaw 🥰🩷 it's OK, she will be loved 🤗 now.... go to sleep 🤣
@ ❤️
Nope definitely not seen a topsy turvy JJ before but sure is a fantastic idea... thanks for sharing... hope your well...
Aaw yay! Perhaps one does exist but I couldn't find a video or pglhoto of one, so hopefully now it's out there others will feel inspired 🥰

Looks like they're called snakehead clasps?
@@sara-leearmstrong5009 I'm Australia and like you say they stock different stuff per country. I'll keep looking. I have the ones that are top crimpers so I'm trying that with the hanger piece nipped of it'll work just have to take them to the shed so they aren't sharp. We learn to work around things. I came across a different hidden paperclip I don't think I've seen you use yet unsure if you have seen one, it has a tab with eyelet to it and a small pocket either side just right for some stamps it's similar in size to your label one. I saw it in a quick flip through so had a go. Thanks for your reply.
@tezag7561 oooh please show me!
@@sara-leearmstrong5009 How can I send you a photo?
