As a woodworker who has done a lot of carving, this is next level! I think most people wouldn't understand how physically taxing this kind of work is; hands, fingers, forearms, and wrists get tired really fast, even when using a power saw or a multi tool.
He's just build different
When body is no longer as strong digital carving might be the best solution. One can use modelling software for figure sculpting and a 3D printer for realization.
Skill. Simply skill which is rare. No matter how strong or full of stamina your hands are, but without the skill then you cannot make one of these.

I give him a lot of credit for holding that heavy chainsaw and still making accurate cuts! Chansaws are super hard to hold onto because they vibrate so much.

@@A30_TKD I can bench 185. I'm not talking about physical strength alone but rather the coordination it takes to hold the vibrating chainsaw to make those tiny, accurate cuts. Almost anyone can pick up a chainsaw and cut down a tree or a few branches, but a chainsaw isn't typically used to make precision designs.

@@stevecarter9596 step one is carve a sculpture

This guy couldn't put to words all the skills his hands have developed because it isn't something that can be said
So yeah practice
@@thisaccountisntreal107 how do you know what he can and cant put into words? It looks like he's carving in some kind of carving school with other carvers? Maybe I'd like to go there and pay big money to be taught how to carve?
@@stevecarter9596 I'm sure you could find some place much closer. Knowledge and practice creates a skill. Start with a book or two, some 2nd hand chisels and a few blocks of wood. If you can't dedicate at least a few dozen hours doing that then it's not for you. If you can practice the basics for hundreds of hours before ever even making something then you may have the will to become great. I used to try really hard to draw but would always try to draw advanced things like characters and after years and years I had barely improved. Then I spent a year just drawing basic 3 dimensional shapes in perspective and breaking down complex objects into those shapes. When I tried drawing what I liked again I couldn't even believe my own skill. The reason few people develop skills is because you have to do the boring basics until you want to kill yourself.
Mad respect for the craftsmanship!
Why do you always make the characters that I love? It's a big admiration for me.
You're full of talent and unlimited potential my friend... thanks for sharing your process.
See here is the thing that blows my mind: when you started with that block of wood, at first I was with you and the way you were cutting according to the stencil, as a fellow artist who loves sculpture I could kind of see what you were doing. But then you started going ham on it with the chainsaw and for a long time I had no idea what you were doing. I don't mean this in a bad way. What I mean is that I could not see the art that that block of wood could become, I could not see the life hidden within it until you started detailing and then I could see the vision, understand the choices, but for a while there I was completely stumped and that's what made this so magical. It is literally magic the way that you, as you said, coaxed Venom out, it was beautiful. And of course the final result is just off of the charts. From one artist to another, my friend, this is absolutely mind-blowing.
He made the chunk of wood give birth to Venom. This guy is truly an artist. Kudos to you buddy
So this is what they mean "watching it take shape." Brilliant work! 👏🏽
You are so amazing. So on earth are you making that work. Great

like, if this guy doesn't learn anything in his life, stayed the exact same skill wise and did only venom, that would be enough to say he's a great woodworker. but he's only just begun, and I hope he pushes himself! Either way, this is an achievement in creativity, patience, and skill that most will never have in any field. Great job.
