I Completely and Wholeheartedly Agree with you Sir . If you watch the television shows from the late 50's to the mid 60's . The entertainment was definitely more family oriented and delivered lessons in morality and tolerance that are lost in today's society and the younger generation is missing out on life's valuable lessons.
Like Petticoat Junction and other shows, I would have never watched this show twice had there been alternatives. 3 channels to watch during the time this aired.
I still watch the Bev.H. every day on Pluto on internet. I'm 60. I remember watching Buddy on Davey Crockett as a kid, it was great. Also in many western movies. He was a great actor! They all were good people! God bless them all!!!
I watched the Beverly Hillbillies since the first episode and Donna Douglas has always been just the sweetest character ever as Ely Mae, What got me was the wonderful way she greeted Buddy Ebsen, and then at scene 7:30 as Buddy starts to sit down, he is about to miss the chair and Donna reaches out and takes his arm and pulls him back on course. Just a sweet act of kindness that seems to stem from a deep affection for Mr. Ebsen
can't believe i'm tuning in to the jerry springer show, but I will make an exemption here. cast members of the Beverly hillbillies featured. THAT made it WORTH IT!
No, it's not redundant. The word Remain doesn't contain the idea of permanence by itself and because it's usually followed by some phrase specifying a time limit, you need to add Always to emphasize that there is no limit in this case. If you removed the word Always the sentence would sound strange and vague as if written by a non-native English speaker.
@Terri The fact that if you simply remove a word from a statement, that statement would sound awkward or corny, does NOT prove that the statement is not redundant. "Always remain" IS redundant, but the solution is NOT to remove the word "always", it is to remove the word "remain" and put the word "be" in place of it. So the sentence would be written "Donna Douglas will always be eternally, angellically beautiful."
Watched this show all the time when I was younger. Everyone just clicked on the show. It was like they were real. Takes great talent to pull that off. Very few shows can do that.
This is 64 years AFTER the Wizard of Oz, 20 years after Barnaby Jones started, and 30 years after the Jed Clampet was shootin at some food! Talented, a real people person, in my book

I love this show Growing Up in the 60s. Back then a lot of the actors would do their own commercials and they used to do the Kellogg's Corn Flakes commercial and Jethro would have a huge bowl of corn flakes and gobble it down quickly . which was hilarious back then definitely good humor clean fun.
I still occassionally watch re-runs of the show and I still laugh even at parts I have seen before. What a great cast this was. Plus - they didn't dabble in politics or try and push an agenda - just good-old entertainment.
Buddy Ebson quotes "The old lady's uh, the old lady's uh.... she's getting pretty old." "They can't shoot for sour apples." "Meet up with Davy Crockett, King Of The Wild Frontier." RIP Buddy
I was Donna's manager from 1990 until her death, or at least from around 1993. We first worked together at the Grand Ole' Opry in 1990, she was on my show with Jimmy Rogers Snow. I worked for him. She was a lovely woman, and a national treasure, as a human being. She considered Buddy as her father. She was with him, and said goodbye as he was on his death bed. She flew out to be with him. She passed New Years Eve 2015. I will forever miss her. She stayed here many times in my home when we were on tour. Many great memories.
I enjoyed Max Baer. Springer didn't give Donna Douglas much time to speak, so he could introduce Buddy Ebsen. Buddy was very funny how he answered Springer's questions. He was very entertaining and his stories were detailed and hilarious at the same time. Now comes part 3.
Buddy was supposed to be the Tin Man on, “The Wizard of Oz,” but he had a horrific, allergic reaction to the silver paint. It’s a wonder we didn’t lose him back then.
I just recently started watching some of the Beverly hillbillies on UA-cam.... I cannot tell you how much I have laughed because this is the funniest show I think that has ever been on TV...... When it was on air I was just a teenager and had just pretty much started dating so I wasn't home to watch this stuff.... However I did see some of the episodes.... And not too long ago my sister showed me a picture of her with Is Donna Douglas.... She was absolutely beautiful. Max Baer This was so handsome..and still is.... Ryan was the epitome of a granny I mean that woman was hilarious she was asked🎉 the character downright crazy... Buddy Ebsen's His character kept everyone grounded.... Accept the character of Jethro... Just the best shows that I think TV has ever had and if anyone really related these people to their characters after they got off the show then they don't know much about movies and acting because you cannot relate that to what they are you have to relate to whom they are and they were great actors
When people ask me "Mary Ann or Ginger" I just say neither... I'll take Ellie May any day. A beautiful figure and the most gorgeous face you will ever see.
