Thanks for posting this. I was 16 back in '73 when I heard that "Granny" had passed I cried as if I had lost my own grand mother. I too some of my earnings from my after school job and bought both of my grand mothers a half dozen roses. They never knew the reason why I did "such a nice thing" God bless those three women.
@reichardtaj -- I'm so pleased to know you appreciated the description as well as Irene's performance. Sometimes I get the feeling not everyone bothers to read them, and since all of the videos posted on my channel have a very special personal connection to me, I enjoy sharing the stories behind the clips, So Thanks Again for your kind and encouraging words.
@Ilia9396 -- The Good Ol' Days, indeed! From her early years in Vaudeville a Century ago right up to her show-stopping performance as my Granny in PIPPIN, nobody did it better than Irene. So much Love, so much Joy!
IDK if I've ever seen a more talented, witty and wild woman in my life.
She can rock the boat 🚢
❤❤❤

Is there any footage of her vaudeville days or early comedy scenes from when she was younger?
I think that's the closest to a racy joke Granny ever told! "He was bow-legged and I was knock kneed." The marital act would be difficult that way.
