Max Baer was actually a very good actor. I just finished watching all the episodes and he, along with the others really brought that character to life. No one else could ever have played Jethro like he did.
Even as a black kid growing up in tbe segregated south during the 1960s, I watched and laughed with "The Bevetly Hillbillies" and still do some 60 years laterr in reruns, one of the funniest TV shows ever, sadly we will never see this again, a blessed witness.
I'm 68 now so at 16 I'm watching with my parents ( nm Dad born in 1905) always reminded us what a great hoofer he was. And tje deadpan humor:. what a crush I had on him as Jed! ❤️
Buddy is so full of energy. I highly doubt that most people his age couldn’t dance like him. Wonderful actor and dancer. He has credits a mile long. The Beverly hillbillies movie was a good movie so what is weird was buddy Ebson played barnaby jones when Granny came up missing so he was hired to find her. Jim Varney played uncle Jed.
Thank you so much for a wonderful childhood growing up to never missing your incredibly wonderful cheerful funny kind Moral uplifting clean Cast. Max Bear especially but you ALL need to know about how much joy and love you have given & exemplified through that show. I dont think you know how much a great part & impact you have had on American history & growth. Thank you. Please dont ever tarnish that beautiful simplicity of kind genuinely just goodness that warmed the worlds hearts. Your largest reward should in life is of giving so much in that goofy wonderful Godly show. it may of been a job & work to you but understand the huge impact and be blessed. Gifts like these touching so many lives can be priceless. Be blessed. Be humble & keep smiling. You have so much to smile about & made so many others Smile for so long. Thank you.
he had his own detective show in the 70's which made him a lot of money. I believe it was on CBS and was part of the era of the detective shows on CBS along with many more like Cannon and others. If anyone remembers this era, please list off the CBS detective shows in a reply. That certainly would be appreciated.
I am so glad to see this, Buddy Ebsen was my piano tuning customer many times on his bday, 4/1 he would appear at the Long Beach yatch club to perform and I tuned the piano for his gig.
THE best Jerry Springer show I have ever seen. The Beverly Hillbillies were and still are one of the funniest comedy shows ever. Excellent casting and superb scripts. Elliottnick, although you uploaded this program in 2008, expect a lot of viewings in the wake of Donna Douglas passing Jan 02, 2015.
I enjoyed this very much. They were all great. Especially Buddy Ebsen. 85 and still dancing. If Jerry Springer has episodes like this, I will watch them, otherwise I have no desire.
I watched this show as a child in New Zealand in the 60s. Absolutely adored all of them but granny was my favourite. Learned what a gasket was when Ellie May made biscuits and Jethro was so rude about them. All these years later, l still can't buy a gasket OR a biscuit (we call them scones) without a sly grin of remembrance.
* Indeed Jerry did some good shows in the earlier years. But after things went askew on a few of Geraldo's episodes albeit unplanned Jerry decided to make that an everyday occurrence on his program. ♣
Homage whom deserved. All of Them were some the Great ones On those times. My respect to all of them Jerry included. Thanks for sharing. Regards from Tasmania Australia.
Hard to belive Buddy Ebsen passed away, in 2003. Like Jack La Lane, he was very active and healthy, for his age. How many 85 year olds could dance like that. Like La Lane, I thought he would live well passed 100. Goes to show you pnemonia can get any age. RIP Buddy.
Just happened to stumble across all 5 parts! The Hillbillies was a staple in our household when I was very little! This was a nice treat! Thank you for sharing!!!
Good question, mayb the cast ask not to , mayb they would of broke down in tears really bad , mayb they did ask back stage and broke down in tears and decided not to , idk good question ,
I LOVED THAT SHOW YOU SURE CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE SHOWS THEN AND NOW THEY WERE CLEAN AND DESCENT YOU COULD SEAT DOWN AND WATCH THEM AND FILL COMFORTABLE IT WAS CLEAN THAT WAS THE GOOD OLD DAYS WILL NEVER SEE THAT AGAIN
Jimmy Harper SORRY WE LOST ELLIE MAE . I LOVE ALL THE FUNNY THINGS SHE DID ON BEVERLY HILLBILLIES . SHE LOVED ANIMALS !! YOU BETTER NOT HURT, BE BAD TO THEM , SHE'D WHOP YA !! SO BE GOOD TO THEM, LOVE THEM LIKE SHE DID !! SHE'S A GREAT ACTOR !! I WILL STILL WATCH YOU ! I LOVE THE SHOWS !!
Sorry i had a error in my reply lol but yea i know i got a dog of my own so yea i not even that type so yea i was shocked and upset to see Donna Douglas aka Elle may passed away so my grandma and my dad watched the beverly hillbillies when i was a kid yea I'm a 1990s kid so I grew up with those 1960s shows too and loved them and plus my grandma and I also loved jerry springer she introduced to him and a big fan til she left here in this earth god rest her soul so 2 of my grandmas favorite shows in one show here but yea I'm a little late on replying back so i appreciate the feedback from my post way back in 2015
I still watch reruns . Beats today's sitcoms by far . In the years of the Beverly Hilbilly's the entitlement was actually authentically funny instead of silly and dorky such as today's sitcoms in my firm opinion .
I rember buddy was like everyone grandpa and best friend ready to give anything to help anybody even when someone tried to take advantage of him because he had a kind and compassionate person to bad we aren't like that
I meant Miss Douglas in 2004 Oklahoma City at the church she and congregation prayed over my kidneys well I didn't know I was going to meet angel in my life she was I still got my kidneys in there and healthy Shape.god speed ellie may
I read that her and Elvis ate lunch together in the studio cafeteria with Jethro and talked about Christianity and other religions a lot, I think they knew all about Hollywoods underworld.
The hoity toity didn't always look down their noses at the Clampetts. Two of my favorite episodes feature a genealogist who is fascinated by the Clampetts' simplicity and their historic adherence to the old ways. In fact, in these shows, Mrs. Drysdale is really put in her place. At the end, we learn that the Clampetts are descendants of the first settlers at Jamestown, but Jed denies it, because he just doesn't want all the publicity. But Mrs. Smith-Standish truly liked and appreciated the Clampetts.
The enthusiastic black folks loving The Beverly Hillbillies demonstrates the remarkable power of television, and how black people accept their culture with grace. If I were black in 60’s America, or black anytime, I’d find it hard to enjoy a southern-based show. But i was white born in the 50’s, and the show seemed harmless & silly.
WISH THEY HAD SAID SOMETHING ABOUT MR. FRANK INN,AS HE TRAINED ALL THOSE CRITTERS ON THIS SHOW AS WELL AS PETTICOAT JUNCTION,,THE STAR OF THAT SHOW WAS MY FAVE,HIGGINS,,,LATER TO STAR AS BENJI,,,,HE ALSO TRAINED ARNOLD THE PIG ON GREEN ACRES.

This Has To Be The
Very Best Jerry Springer,
I Have Ever Seen!
Very Personable!
Audience response certainly bore that out
Jerry did a very good imitation of Elvis.
What a great treat to see Buddy dance. The man still had it going on!
I'm 68 now so at 16 I'm watching with my parents ( nm Dad born in 1905) always reminded us what a great hoofer he was. And tje deadpan humor:. what a crush I had on him as Jed! ❤️

Buddy Ebsen Rocks!!! He could dance!!
thank you so much for that upload. i laughed a little, cried a little, remembered allot and and realized just how old i've gotten.
Beautiful. A perfect moment, wow. I'm so privileged to have seen this. They were all so charming, and every moment was bliss. Thank you for uploading.

Truth INDEED
Those shows were really funny and never really mean to anyone. Wish they could make shows like that again.
thank you for posting! i loved the Beverly Hillbillies. Buddy Ebsen worked the crowd! Nice!
85 year old Buddy Ebsen, cuttin' the rug, schooling the youngsters on how to DANCE. You go Buddy!!!
Oh my gosh... he was awesome!
jaxflfreebird I ran across a clip of Buddy and Shirley Temple dancing. Great talent !
he had his own detective show in the 70's which made him a lot of money. I believe it was on CBS and was part of the era of the detective shows on CBS along with many more like Cannon and others. Sad that they barely talked about the brilliant Irene Ryan as Granny, who MADE the show what it was. RIP Irene!
I wondered why she wasn't on there. :( was a brilliant/ Beautiful/ funny show..so SO many laughs from them all. Be-Blessed
@@angelawoods5829 Irene Ryan died probably about two years after the show was cancelled so I think 1973.
Loved Granny bunches 💗 !
Good point
Her and Max really did make that show.
wish Jerry Springer would go back to these types of shows!
From the grave
So wonderful!!!!!! Jerry Springer should be applauded for making this happen for historical purposes.
Much love to all of them. Good morals & values on television back then.
I am so glad to see this, Buddy Ebsen was my piano tuning customer many times on his bday, 4/1 he would appear at the Long Beach yatch club to perform and I tuned the piano for his gig.
Loved watching this show growing up. I miss the cast.
Thank you for sharing this I had never seen it till now. I grew up with these kind of shows and I love them all.
The Golden Show of the ages Never again , but always remembered for the joy of characters they were the laughter especially ❤

Great episode...amazing to watch Jerry Springer before he got trashy. Love the Beverly Hillbillies.
You are right, Jerry was a great host when he wanted.
* Indeed Jerry did some good shows in the earlier years. But after things went askew on a few of Geraldo's episodes albeit unplanned Jerry decided to make that an everyday occurrence on his program. ♣
Hard to believe Jerry's show could be this good. Can't stand what it is now.
Awesome just plan awesome to see Jed/Buddy get down! Loved the show growing up. Great cast, always funny & true at heart.
Homage whom deserved.
All of Them were some the Great ones
On those times.
My respect to all of them Jerry included.
Thanks for sharing.
Regards from Tasmania Australia.
Irene Ryan; what a great gal.
Miss those old shows
Does take you back doesn’t it?😊

Evidently he kept up with himself well enough to do that.
one of the best american shows of all time along with bilko
this show was a lot better than now a days
So true
American
Got talent
*nowadays
I liked them bcause they seemed genuine good people.
Anybody remember Mr. Ebsen dancing with Shirley Temple?
In Captain January
Jerry should have brought that up
I do. Mr. Epson wore a sailor suit. If I remember correctly.
Of course.
Yup
what a wonderful reunion,
Shim sham shimmy…. Perfect !!!
Gotta love Buddy!
Uncle Jed can dance!
Just happened to stumble across all 5 parts! The Hillbillies was a staple in our household when I was very little! This was a nice treat! Thank you for sharing!!!
Maybe the only good episode of the Springer show and a great show it was. Thanks for showing these.
Thank you for doing this loved it
this show should be on primetime nowadays.its holsom and honest family fun.no pushing gay or alternative lifestyles no bs. good stuff for everyone.
Truth
No reason to be a tangential prick.
If you want to see how great a dancer Buddy was, take a look at his "Codfish Ball" dance routine with Shirley Temple in "Stowaway".
Terrific!
I agree. His movement is similar to that of Ray Bolger's Scarecrow.
Lampshade51 one of my favorites!!!!
Lampshade51 captain January
I'm surprised that Springer didn't ask the cast about Granny.
Good question, mayb the cast ask not to , mayb they would of broke down in tears really bad , mayb they did ask back stage and broke down in tears and decided not to , idk good question ,
Great commentary at the end.
Thank you for showing your video. I love watching
Excellent show !
They all seem kind and friendly
I LOVED THAT SHOW YOU SURE CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE SHOWS THEN AND NOW THEY WERE CLEAN AND DESCENT YOU COULD SEAT DOWN AND WATCH THEM AND FILL COMFORTABLE IT WAS CLEAN THAT WAS THE GOOD OLD DAYS WILL NEVER SEE THAT AGAIN
wow so much talent!
Whoa, Final Thought. Always my favorite!
Would have loved to see the drysdales interviewed but still more fun than a bucket of tadpoles!
Interesting that Max Baer, Jr. neither clapped nor stood when that guy that played Sonny Drysedale came onstage. SNAP! Got cold!
Rip Donna Douglas 1933-2015
Jimmy Harper SORRY WE LOST ELLIE MAE . I LOVE ALL THE FUNNY THINGS SHE DID ON BEVERLY HILLBILLIES . SHE LOVED ANIMALS !! YOU BETTER NOT HURT, BE BAD TO THEM , SHE'D WHOP YA !! SO BE GOOD TO THEM, LOVE THEM LIKE SHE DID !! SHE'S A GREAT ACTOR !! I WILL STILL WATCH YOU ! I LOVE THE SHOWS !!
I just cried for her. What a sweetheart!

Watching this makes me crave Kraft Pizza made from the mix and an ice cold bottle of Pepsi.
great recording, thanks for sharing
I just love her laugh. 😊
I still watch reruns . Beats today's sitcoms by far . In the years of the Beverly Hilbilly's the entitlement was actually authentically funny instead of silly and dorky such as today's sitcoms in my firm opinion .
Now Max is the only one left.
I rember buddy was like everyone grandpa and best friend ready to give anything to help anybody even when someone tried to take advantage of him because he had a kind and compassionate person to bad we aren't like that
God bless Buddy Ebsen and Jerry Springer from the UK.
@elliottnick Thank you very much for posting this series
Jerry has outdone himself
Man! The quality of TV then really shows how bad it was. Glad to see it's improved so much. Love these folks.
you ok?
THAT WAS AWESOME !!!!!
this is shocking ! a springer show with no physical altercations and excessive profanity by people having to be separated
this was great.
They were all looking at their watches at the end, like "get me the hell out of here"
The hoity toity didn't always look down their noses at the Clampetts. Two of my favorite episodes feature a genealogist who is fascinated by the Clampetts' simplicity and their historic adherence to the old ways. In fact, in these shows, Mrs. Drysdale is really put in her place. Rip Jerry Springer. 🙏 This episode was great! Wished they would've talked a bit about Irene Ryan.
I would've loved to have seen Buddy Ebsen as the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz.
All the shows after this is down hill
Bare still looked good at that time
beautiful episode
I watch Buddy Ebsen dancing in this video, and I remember that Dick van Dyke can do much the same and about the same age!!!
I am a Blavk Woman and Me and my Family Loved that Show GROWING up
Main that old BUZZARD can sure Dance at 85 !
I would’ve loved to ask Mr. Ebsen about his time during WW2.
Wow! Jerry did a great Elvis! Only surpassed by Buddy Ebsen's dance steps at 85 years old!
Brilliant!
I had no idea Sharron Tate was on BHB or Pettie Coat Junction!!
You may be able to fund those episodes on UA-cam. RIP Sharon Tate and her baby.
wow this must have been one of the last shows before springer's makeover in 1994
Barnaby Jones cutting the rug.
I kept waiting to hear some memories of working with Irene Ryan and some of the other cast members, but alas nothing.
that man is groovin for america
WISH THEY HAD SAID SOMETHING ABOUT MR. FRANK INN,AS HE TRAINED ALL THOSE CRITTERS ON THIS SHOW AS WELL AS PETTICOAT JUNCTION,,THE STAR OF THAT SHOW WAS MY FAVE,HIGGINS,,,LATER TO STAR AS BENJI,,,,HE ALSO TRAINED ARNOLD THE PIG ON GREEN ACRES.
jerry springer is fun !! he currently films in conn was on his show last year !! yea the fights look fixed !!!
Now I know where Micheal Jackson got his moves from. It was JED.
I was there :)
Jane Hathaway, Milburn Drysdale and Granny were all dead by this point
I'm surprised that the cast wasn't fistfighting and yelling profanities like on every Jerry Springer show!
When Jerry was clean
I bet Jethro misses Granny's Cooking
Okay we can spot the older crowd here with this question, how many watching this are looking for the "tracking wheel" on your computer? haha
The best
Sharon Tate....stunningly beautiful lady.
Raymond Bailey who played banker Milburn Drysdale was actually older than Irene Ryan who played Granny.
Talk shows back then made perfect sense, now today, it's all crap.
