    Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! UA-cam's largest collection of automotive variety! In today's video, we'll take an up close and personal, in depth look at the 2013 BMW 760LI 25 years edition, one of only 15 made.
    MSRP pricing for the 760LI begins at $140,700
    Pricing for the 25 Years Edition is an additional $18,600
    Total MSRP as shown with additional options totals out to $173,095
    During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

    I had a black 2010 BMW 760li for almost 5 years. It only had 48,000 miles. I had to get rid of it a few days ago due to hard times and I needed the money. Best car purchase I've ever made.

    • @coleysheats4334
      @coleysheats4334 8 років тому +6

      +MatthiasAI The resale value was horrible, considering we payed well over $100,000 for the car. We had it up for sale for probably 1 year before we had our lucky person. But we managed to pull $65,000 out of it before we finally sold it. :( It crazy how much these cars drop in value with every mile and year.

    • @MatthiasAI
      @MatthiasAI 8 років тому +4

      +Coley Sheats Its because the type of car it is and the demand in market is only there once they drop price for people like Me to finally get my hands on. Haha, majority of sales for this type of car become corporate cars. Also their high operating prices outside of warranty make them less desirable to the masses, most people I know that own them bought them dirt cheap (Under 20% of original retail price) and are mechanics/DIY guys. :D

    I think you missed mentioning two cool features:
    1st: It is possible to browse and select an navigation destination and/or POI via rear seat entertainment and send it to the driver.
    2nd: If you're sitting in the rear on the passenger side, you can fully control the passenger front seat. So you can make yourself some room if you're being chauffeured.
    BTW: I always thought that the 760Li is “almost a sports car”, based on the numbers, just like you mentioned it in the “split personality”. But then I drove an 760Li for an weekend and I realized, that it doesn’t feel even near anything sporty.
    It just feels extremely powerful, save, supple, silent, wide and heavy, but not sporty.
    Even if it is indeed an (for its weight) insanely fast car, I was kind of disappointed. Especially because the V12 has a very nice and special sound characteristic, but it's so silent and sounds restrained or even suppressed.
    It’s sad, that Audi offers the S8 and Mercedes even two nasty sounding S-AMG models besides their smooth 12-cylinder models, but the “sportiest” of the “German Big 3” does not offer an M7, or at least an M750i, etc.…

      No it isn't. My S8 d4 is nicer inside than this V12 7 but I prefer the latest 7 to the latest S8 so I have a new M760li arriving next week. I'm really dissapointed that Audi switched to touch screens only in place of the rotary controller, plus the new interior just looks cheap. The new Mercedes S class looks nice though.

    Awsome video. Only a little feedback: it's not tinted chrome what the iDrive controller, gear shifter and volume and air-con controls have. It's the ceramic option that BMW offers for their more expensive models. But the rest is just spot on. Keep up the good work

    For $176K, I would be looking at getting a pre-owned Bentley (for 50 grand more a new one is well within your reach). Heck, for that price I could get the top of the line XJ with everything and have $20,000 in my pocket and a car that's far superior to an S-class, A8, and the 7-series from all angles.

    Did they make a version of this without the adaptive cruise control, without the IR camera, and without the 130 mph speed limiter? It seems like I found one that someone possibly did a really great job of faking. Same rims and everything. The interior is identical. I’m not sure how you would prove it is authentic.

    I was referring to his random complaints of "poor" interior quality in the 760Li, not when the F01 was introduced. My mother owned an early production 2010 model and later a 2011 760Li before her '13 model, so I'm pointing out that his complaints about interior finish and quality are somewhat dubious based on what I've observed.

  • @Carmaker1

    When did you look at it and what year? Some are claiming that the LCI for MY2013 is a result of cost-cutting in Munich, but I really don't see a difference. It may not be up to RR levels for a reason, but it certainly isn't terrible from what I've observed over time with MY2010-2011(2012 is the same).

  • @Carmaker1
    @Carmaker1 11 років тому

    Thanks, but I know that, as the F01 was designed during 2005-January 2006 and went into production in September 2008. The 760Li F02 went on sale in October 2009. My mother's been a 7-Series owner since the E38, so I'm quite familiar with them.

    In 5 years this car will be worth around $35k. V12 BMWs, MBs and Audis depreciate horribly but that's a good thing for the next owner. The depreciation is already taken care of and now it's just about maintaining it right.

    Most of the people who buy these cars don't even know how to change the oil. My mom works for duke and there are tons of BMWs everywhere! To tell you the truth, they're as popular as a cadillac at GM. Not one of those professionals at Duke know how to change a battery, or even change wiper fluid. All they do is bring it to the shop. My mom had a BMW 5 series and it spent more time in the shop than I've ever seen. It was terrible, so we bought a cadillac and she loves it. No problems after 85k.

    Until the German car breaks down. Then it will cost you ALL the money. They are far FAR from perfect. My 1998 A4 Avant has its problems, mostly with the engine.Timing belt probs (skips teeth) oil leaks, etc etc. Audi really didn't think about what would happen to the car 10-15+ years down the line. HOWEVER that car has taken so much shit ( bad roads, cold ass winters and hot summers) but she's still hanging in there and I still love her.

  • @Bawse328

    It's German standard, as the car brand is German, according to their speed restriction law. Every German car has this limitation.
    Can be undone by chipping, but nothing recommended on a $160,000, or more, car.
    Not going all poninty fingery here, but 155mph is enough for this luxury log.
    Oh, and all the torque apparently ready to curl the asphalt at no more than elevated idle of 1500rpm.
    All 5000 lbs of it, which beats pretty much anything car wise you can throw at it.
    It's a kick ass car!

    In the U.K. the 760Li and M6 Gran Coupe differ by about £7,000 on the road. This 25 years special edition will be rare and carry a premium over the regular V12. Furthermore, the 7 series is considered BMW's flagship and will therefore carry the highest price tag in the same way a Mercedes S600 will be more expensive than the more powerful E63 AMG S 4Matic. TBH power has nothing to do with it; case in point Rolls-Royce Phantom being more expensive than more powerful Rolls-Royce Ghost

    The 760Li is a unique vehicle and it defines what a Luxury vehicle should be. The 7-Series is not too boring nor too exciting to see and it's just an average luxury vehicle. While the S-Class shouts out that it's a Luxury Vehicle and the A8 is more of a Low profile Luxury vehicle, The 7-Series is in between the two cars meaning to say the 7-series is just right and it's too exposing or too conservative it's just right.

    ok, I understand this is not a "performance car" or "sports car". Yes, its very heavy at a little over 5K. But, you can get PLENTY of power out of a twin turbo V-8 engine. I was just expecting 600+ ft. lbs of torque when I heard it was a twin-turbo V12. My god, a smaller engine ALONE would cut the weight down a couple hundred pounds. In turn, better fuel economy with a smaller engine, less weight, better car all around.

    Is that selection an analog mic switch, or menu options on the camera. If menu options on the camera, then yes, that's internal camera processing, and you're probably better off just using 90 degrees. The best thing to do is to decide for yourself. Get your best pair of headphones and make test audio recordings, with you talking and with ambient noise. Decide for yourself afterward what sounds most natural.

    BMW are overly obsessed with black interior bits. They simply can't color match the plastics & seat belts. No matter which interior color one chooses the steering is always BLACK. Check out Audi Exclusive interior options for the A8 which are similar to Bentley & Jag also offers appealing color choices for the XJ as part of the standard palette.

  • @SirBioSnake
    @SirBioSnake 11 років тому

    Yes this car is the drivers choice in this segment but this isn't a hardcore BMW like the M division cars, this car is a lot more laid back and designed for cruising not going around a race track. Also why are you telling me what BMW stands for the name has nothing to do with performance. Bavaria is just an area in Germany and motor works just tells what the company does.

  • @Tednessful

    Nice review. But there's something as smooth as a V12 and that's an inline six (or half a V12). Other than those tacky huge logos embroided on the headrests, and other minor inscriptions here and there, this car isn't exclusive at all in the sense that you can come up with even a 730d (Europe) displaying identical color combos and equipment via BMW's Individual program.

  • @NickG6489
    @NickG6489 11 років тому

    If there's any kind of setting on the camera itself re: width of audio, play with that too. SOme of those internal camera settings actually artificially widen the audio to the point where there's kind of a hole in the image, which I think is what's happening now. Listen with headphones to understand what I'm talking about.

    What I still don't, and possibly never will get is, why cars in the US needs all those bongs. It sounds so cheap. A bong for an open door, a bong for a closed door, a bong for inserted key, a bong for seatbelts ect.
    Do you guys have the option to disable these bongs?

    Kyle, why did you record the nav screen of the Alpina B7 and not the 25 Years Edition version? It doesn't really make sense that you would record all the features on a different car when the 25 years edition version would most likely have the same options. Am I wrong?

    These videos always lose me when a car that should have a manual has an automatic. I understand that dual-clutch systems are faster, but the "Ultimate Driving Machine" better have the most involved driving conditions if it wants to bear that moniker.

    Nice job on your latest review Kyle. However, I'm not sure on what the word "Racipion" means (the word that you use in your videos a lot, like @ 3:35 in this one) when you talk about the steering wheel of the vehicle?

    It's not about getting hp. The engine doesn't just accidentally make a certain number because of the cylinder count. It's tuned to make whatever they want it to despite the potential capacity inherent in the given design.

    I had one of those back in 2011. Made a trip from Russia to Ukraine, Bulgaria, Turkey and back. The power of the car was not enough. Especially when you are taking over a car. It's a heavy car, so you at least need a 750 IMHO.

    Why do cars lose proximity of the key fob when you get out of the car, but while standing outside it has proximity of the fob when you need to unlock the doors?
    Someone explain this to me please lol.

    If it isn't overrated and overpriced then ordinary people would be able to buy one, and thus delude the prestige of the model, which is only meant to be shared with successful people.
