Went there today! It was amazing. I live in London but I never knew this existed until you made this video. I got a bit nervous at first because the guy started signing fast and I only know a tiny bit of BSL. But it went good and I ordered myself a hot chocolate (I’m a child so can’t really drink coffee) and my mum a latte. It was the best hot chocolate ever! Everywhere I go they make it too bitter and I don’t like dark chocolate. But this was just perfect! When we were leaving I thanked the guy and signed it was delicious. It made me soo happy to see him smile. We’re going to go back next week since I love it soo much. This was my first time signing with a stranger, let alone a deaf person. I would love to meet you some day jazzy! 😀
It'd be cool if they had this in America too. Everywhere really, so there would be no communication barriers with Hearing, Deaf, blind, or DeafBlind people.
@@findingchloe7996 That's the difference between here in the UK and the US. There are way more independent businesses supporting disability communities there than here. That really needs to change..
I live in Melbourne, Australia, and have studied Auslan (Australian Sign Language) for 3 years now! However, I was born in England and I am visiting next year in summer, and plan to visit this cafe now, thank you for sharing. I think I will be relying on finger spelling until I pick up the BSL signs 😂🥰🤟xx
@@JazzyWhipps Thank you very much! It's been a long 2 years but I can't wait to see my family finally! Also, I look forward to discovering more Deaf businesses in the UK through your videos x
This is an awesome idea, I want to to to this cafe someday, I'm from Mexico and sadly there aren't a strong deaf awareness so I haven't been able to interact with as many deaf people as I would like
This sounds amazing, nothing like people having spaces to interact comfortably, and also encouraging hearing people to learn BSL. When I go to London, I'll make sure to check this cafè out!
This is amazing!!! Hoping to see more such establishments hiring disabled people 😁😁 The job discrimination done by able-bodied people has no logic More such establishments and businesses are needed in this society so that all the disabled people can show the world that they are capable
Hello! I am deaf and am going on a study tour to London next month. I am not sure what is going on, but when I Google about the cafe, it said it is permanently closed. Do you have any insight to that??? I would love to visit during the tour!
I like that cafe but great sign language BSL so how people are hearing they do video sign language. Maybe I meet you soon I don’t know when I happy with you 🙂
I've just found out my mum Rebecca Webster-Pickford has met you!!!! I never knew! I told her about this video and she said 'OHHHHH I'VE MET HER BEFORE ' she said Greece or something I'm not sure though so I'd appreciate it if you could slide into my mum's dmS and arrange meet up? Xxx
I'm just curious, but why do you mouth the words that you're signing? Wouldn't that be considered a crutch for hearing people, or is it because your family is hearing and you had speech therapy? I know mouth morphemes are part of signed languages, but not mouthing every word. That's what I've learned from my Deaf ASL professors.
@@JazzyWhipps thank you for the info and i go there one day and i also say that your videos of your family and i do understand the questions/answers are so brillant in BSL and please do continue carry on From one deaf myself to Deaf Jazzy
Lol, never in a billion-year would imagine a Turkish person opening such an innovative coffee shop, well done to him

Wow! Here in London UK ? I'll have to check it out for sure. 😍🇬🇧
I’m talking about this video in my level 6 presentation tomorrow.
I’m going to London soon, will try to visit this place - we need more of this in the UK!
Here in America, we do have a Deaf Starbucks located in Washington, D.C.! I, myself, never been but will someday 🙂
I'm a bit late replying to the question at the end, but there's a Deaf-run cafe in Hassocks called 'Talking Hands'.
It'd be cool if they had this in America too. Everywhere really, so there would be no communication barriers with Hearing, Deaf, blind, or DeafBlind people.
We actually do have something similar in America! It’s in Washington but it’s a location for a Starbucks rather it’s own separate entity
@@blairrose506 Yeah, it'd be cool if it could be everywhere just like big chains.
They do have deaf run restaurants in America, particularly in NY and SF :)
@@blairrose506 Ok! So only in Washington DC ?
