I’m Deaf. She became the music 🎶 and the sound.
She is not only interpreting, but she gives off the whole vibe for those people who can not experience music with their ears but their eyes🤩🤩❤️

@@MrHahahaha46 she feels the bass, you know how whenever music is played in concert or over loudspeakers you feel the beat in your sternum and bones? That is what she feels. Also, Justina is not completely deaf. She can hear liminally, or slightly. That is how she knows when to mouth words, which also helps people who lip read. This helps her as well.

@@alexandermoran7783 of course 💗 most of these things aren't absolute the way people who hear or see normally tend to think, for some reason people hear "deaf" and they assume the person is completely, all the way deaf which they may not be and even if they are they are using their other senses (like the beat that can be felt that I mentioned).

After this performance I went down a wonderfully fascinating and beautiful rabbit hole of the Black Deaf community and the nuances of ASL within that community. It would be amazing for that to be part of Black history monthly because there is an entire tradition and culture That isn't seen in traditional Deaf culture understandings

For my ASL class in school I have to interpret a song so I decided to come watch some ASL song interpreters and it’s really helped me a lot you can feel the energy through her movements and her facial expressions in the way that she alters the signs ever so slightly to give off musicality making it more interesting for the eyes kind of like how music is interesting for our ears but def people can’t hear the beat but they can see it by the way she moves and signs and I find that really interesting and I’ll be using these techniques when I interpret my song
