Very helpful brother. If someone reads this before assembly, don't leave the hammer in the cocked position.
Great video, i have owned my Marlin 336 since 1992, first complete disassembly I have done on it. Your video was most helpful.
Thanks for the video, just got a marlin 30-30 30A. Would've totally been screwed trying to strip down and clean without your help.
Glad to hear I was able to help
Verywell done ,sir. No ums ers you knows,,,,,crystal clear audio,,well lit video. A lot ,repeat lot of youtubers could learn a lot from this vid,,,thanks……
Great breakdown
To the point and moves right along, no bs
Thanks for the video. Very easy to follow visuals and instructions :)
Great video! Couldn't have been more clear. I inherited my dad's lever gun that probably hasn't ever had a deep cleaning. I recall him using the stock as a snow shovel about 40 years ago when we got his bronco stuck 20 miles from the nearest highway while deer hunting. It definitely needs some TLC.
Awesome video sir, you definitely deserve our appreciation. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Appreciate the feedback. 🤌🏻
Can anyone help!? I got mine out of the safe for hunting season, and the small screw just forward of the safety switch is GONE.....cut is stuck with the action open and won't actuate. I have looked at the parts schematic, but it is not clearly apparent what part number it is! Help!!
You might try calling Marlin.
Yrs ago I broke mine down but forgot the 1st step of opening the lever 1/2 way.
I called an 800 number (sorry I don't have it).
Was telling the lady who put me through to someone who had me hold the rifle barrel up & tap the butt firmly which popped something loose.
Like I said, this was yrs ago.
They might have customer service in India now for all I know.
Good luck!
Nice Job.. I've had my Marlin 336 for over 35 yrs and have never taken it apart. Guess I'm gonna have to now. Lol. It looks much easier than a winchester 94.
Hope I helped you out thanks for stopping by. ,STAC
you can tear down the 336 without taking the scope off. remove the screw holding the hammer on then leave it loose, after you take the bottom plate off you can drop the hammer out of the bottom. if you ha e a hammer extension you will have to take it off too, still better than taking the scope off
i just left it it dont get very dirty
Absolutely perfect video. Well done sir. I was able to disassemble, clean & reassemble mine with no issues. Thank you for posting.
Great video. Very thorough. My great uncles 1972 30-30 is much cleaner now.
My grandfather gave me this rifle as a kid. Sometimes when I pull the trigger it would go into half cocked position instead of going bang. Do you know what has happened?
Very good video, but, might I suggest to label your screws, until you get familiar with the dis assembly of your rifle.nothing says a little harder to reassemble than an interruption and then coming back later to finish and cant remember what to where. Also, practice makes perfect and becomes easier. Thanks again for a good video.
Awesome video. I just inherited one of these and this will help for when I'm taking it down to clean it. Thanks!
I have the lever off but the bolt got pushed in and closed. I can’t get it back out. I tried pushing it out with a cleaning rod but it won’t budge. Any ideas?
Thanks man that was very helpful. You have obviously done that alot cause I was way slower than you haha. Awesome video.
Could you please do a video on how to replace your American Walnut foregrip on that gun please?
Can forearm be removed without removing magazine and magazine clamps?
Excellent video & great instruction. Thanks!!
I couldn't get my trigger pun out ... I think it's seized
That actually looks a lot easier than I thought it would be. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to buy a rebuild kit for this gun?
My Bolt seens stuck wont come out the back.
Thank you brother great video!!
stuck at 11:01 i cant quite get the bolt/screw to go all the way through, it pushes through all the internal parts but wont line up to screw in.
I had to take the trigger plate back off, removing hammer, replace trigger plate, put the hammer bolt in place, to hold its location, finger tighten the two trigger plate screws, take out the hammer bolt, install hammer, replace bolt, retighten trigger plate bolts and hammer bolt. Makes you feel like an actual smith.
This really helped me out a lot
I miss the ejector screw replacement...
Dude, great instrutions ❤
I have just acquired a a Model 30 AS that has absolutely no bluing on one side that I'm wanting to Cold Blue and you have just made it possible. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
Thank you, I'm training under a gunsmith and wanted to learn how to reassemble the marlin I disassembled and cleaned. Now to learn how it functions!
very helpful thank you .. didn't know if i would ever figure out how to get this dude back together . this is the only video i found step for step
Great video. Just put my 336 R.C. back together with no issues. 👍
awesome video
Nice video
Shot my 45-70 marlin sbl for first time went to go clean it was trying to figure out how to get the lever back on the bolt. Appreciate it
Nice job. Thanks for the video
Thanks for the Vid... Looking forward to cleaning my Grandpa's Marlin now that I know how to disassemble. Out of curiosity, what are the two tiny screws just below and on either side of the ejector seating notch hole for?
Peep sights
Thanks man, good video.
My lever got jammed in the open position . There is a round stuck in the carrier. Dropped it off at a gunsmith. Quoted me $30 to remove it. Now I know how to take it apart. Thanks. For the video.
Very welcome 🤗
this is what I had happen to mine the loading gate had lost some spring and had to take it out and bend it a little to put some spring back on it. will order a new one after the season is over
Very good video
Excellent video! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Forgive me, as I am not familiar with lever actions, but my father-in-law has requested I clean his rifle. To my knowledge he has not cleaned it at all. Your video is amazingly informative, however, at what point do I stop if it’s just a cleaning. I am under the assumption, due to lack of cleaning, it will be the full take down. Thank you for your help!
No problem, hopefully it helped you!
If it’s just a cleaning, look up hickok45s video on cleaning a lever gun.
@@Cwgriffin thanks!
@@ShatTactical it definitely did
Thank you for the help!!
Glad to have helped you!
Should you use lock tight on re assembly?
Never
I'll sometimes put a tiny little dab of nail polish on the threads if I want a little bit of security for whatever reason.
Excellent
Thank God for this video and bless you lol I needed it for the ejector
Glad it helped! 👍🏻
