there is absolutely no reason to use the paddles to upshift when drag racing. You are just slowing the car down. Let the computer to upshift automatically, it will be faster than the driver doing it and you won't have to worry about missed shifts either.
Only used paddles in that first run.

For the last 8 years, I have watched automotive themed UA-cam content on a regular basis. I have never seen such cinematography, on a channel run by an individual and not a network. Thoroughly appreciate the work and effort put in.

I´am a Audi guy, but damn I love what BMW is doing with the interior. You can clearly see their design language from 20+ years ago. Its modern, but still classic. I love that. On Audi and Merc, like there is no design language, every generation has different interior. Like they don´t have own identity.
Bmw is just years behind buddy. Interior wise bmw mever stood a chance. Compare the ones from 3/5/8 series and see what i mean. Its not bad but just not like a s class. Also the same from low to top end models.
It seems BMW fans like this, but to me, the interior looks like from the 90s. I have test driven a M2 Competition yesterday and while the car handles well, I probably still will order a CLA 45 or C43 Coupe just because the interior and infotainment system feels so outdated on the BMW. BMW can do it different, but then you need to buy an M5 - which is like double the price. So, Mercedes really offers all the latest technology in their entry level cars, whereas BMW doesn't do it. Oh and I have driven an Audi RS3 this week as well, but to be honest, while I liked it, it just didn't feel right for me for some reason. I also thought the sound is too aggressive in Dynamic mode. But I liked the interior (except for the small screen).

@@andrewwilson6998 Heck even the M135i got an updated interior that looks modern. The M2 Competition didn't even had aluminium brushed pedals, but the regular cheap plastic ones. Can't afford an M5. So, either I go with high performance and cheap interior, or modern interior and cheap performance (M135i). BMW doesn't offer anything right now that suits me. Sadly. Because the CLA 45 is quite expensive.
You are lucky that you can afford the bigger cars from BMW.
Shame this channel has under 100K subscribers, found this by accident this morning searching for reviews on the 2020 M340i and was completely blown away by the high quality presentation, probably one of the best I have seen to date, definitely inline with Savage Geese and Throttle House, new subscriber for sure!

My only critique would be to go over model differences in more detail (such as interior lighting, head/tail lights, option packages) to help those having a touch choice on deciding which car to purchase.

I know it’s not quite the same but I had a similar choice between the M140i and the A45AMG a year ago and the Merc sounded fantastic but I ultimately chose the M140i because it literally was and still is an absolute blast to drive every single day.

The C43 Sedan weighs a bit less than the C43 Coupe. When I drove both (Sedan and Coupe of C43) the sedan felt a little better, and that's the one I went with.
why does he say this is not a real AMG, I've had my BMW 3 series for about 16yrs, thinking of buying a mercedes next if no other reason just to try something different.
@@jaeofelony5531 some people consider it not a real AMG because it doesn’t have the famous hand built engines from Affalterbach. To me, power is power, I don’t care where it’s from as long as it performs and is reliable. The C43 sedan is still been good to me and it’s fast enough for me to enjoy without being over the top. I would just test drive a few different cars in your price range and decide what feels best to you.
@@GadgetryTech thanks for the info. Last question, do you have any issues since it’s a V6 and not inline? I hate that I have to go a series up just to get that in-line 6 cylinder. That E53 is nice but the 100K price tag is awfully steep. I bought my BMW in 2005 for 43K and it has almost 200K miles on it 17 yrs later.
@@jaeofelony5531 I’ve had my C43 for 3 years now but it still has just under 12k miles so I can’t speak from personal experience. I can say that overall this particular V6 is very reliable based on countless posts of higher mileage C43s and another cars that use this engine, even with mods. This engine is used on their GLC43 as well, among some other models and it’s been reliable there too.
@@GadgetryTech okay cool. I know what I’m getting with BMW, I just feel like Mercedes can be cheap sometimes (interior) a little over priced, but then again they are a powerhouse. Working for a company that has an F1 team you soon realize why they are so coveted. Thanks for the info man, I’ll definitely take that into consideration. I really like this c43 model it looks like my car almost (size wise).
I chose the RS3 two years ago, but if I had to choose between these two, it would be the M340.
rs3 is super fast,but it feel really cheap inside ,manual chair

I’d go for the Merc just for it being an AMG. Like for a non car person, the only noticeable BMW is an M car so no one would notice it. Whereas the AMG has quad exhausts, AMG badges and makes it look more expensive. A normal person would know it’s not a C220D, but looking at the BMW it could be mistake for a 318i
You are kind of right, but the merc has two exhaust pipes, only the 63 has quad. The 43 AMG is... you know... not a “real” AMG since it’s engine isn’t hand built and so on... Just like the M340 is not a “real” M car. Well if it gets mistaken, that would be a surprise seeing a 318i beating the “AMG” from a traffic light 😂 Personally, I would rather see my car being mistaken for a smaller model and seeing their looks when it takes off
Great side by side comparison. When I was watching the Benz review last week, I was in love. Forgot about the M340 from the previous week. Seeing them side by side makes it such a tough choice I honestly don't know which one I'd choose. To me it's almost looks over matter, which one do I choose?
Thanks Francois. Color choice does make a big difference on these cars, but overall, I still think the C43 is much better looking and sounding. It may be a little slower and not handle as well but I would still look back every time I parked it.

@@a15bionic59 if u do some research you’ll come to find out that c43 with minimal mods - ecu tune + jb4 does 0-60 in 3.1-3.3 seconds and 1/4 mile in 11.1-11.3. If u did the same mods to the m340i xdrive it would still be higher than 3.5. And I was going to do the an ecu tune either way, it’s the cheapest mod for most power gains without voiding warranty
