I wonder what would have happened if someone fired a flamethrower at her from only a few feet away. Also, it seemed pretty dumb how a soldier was telling everyone to ready the grenades, yet they gave up on the grenades after just that single dud. And if the soldiers were smart, they would have backed up and out of the way and took cover and stayed clear of that railgun. I remember playing and beating this game way back in 2001 and 2002 and being surprised that they finally revealed that device on her that gave her all that belief of being untouchable.
@Max William Lauf that was olga who got shot in the head by solidus. Fortune died by ocelot he shot her in the heart. She died shortly after saving solidus, raiden, and snake.

The way Ocelot talks about them, they seem to be as cutting edge as Arsenal Gear itself. You also have to remember that the end of the game proves Fortune has an inherent deflection/disable ability as well, so that could explain grenades or flamethrowers.
Fortune really was such a great character from what we can gleam from 2 and 4. I do wish she was a little more fleshed out in terms of backstory though

She is absolutely beautiful and so cool. Her stunning outfit, her theme music and the fact that she has a railgun is what makes her an awesome Dead Cell character.

That way she was still safe inside buildings, until it was decided that she was of no more use, and was deactivated.

In metal gear ac!d 1 and 2, Her character card , E.M. Device activates this very ability. But after dodging 20 bullets it disappears, but if you equip body armour and evasion cards, you're literally "FUCKING INVINCIBLE!!!!!" That's why I love the ac!d games, they are the only titles where you can dodge bullets.

Well from what I remember from Mgs1, the Rail Gun on Rex was already a miniature version of its predecessor. (From Rivermore Labs.) The fact that it was able to be miniaturised again, plus the ability to withstand the severe electrical charge taking place within the weapon, makes it seem like a “prop” or “bluff” weapon at best. This is especially the case as if, like Rex, it was a black budget or experimental weapon, gives more credibility that the Seals’ would not know about its existence, as it wasn’t in the mainstream, of weapons production equipment, that had been released to the public. I guess...
