    Very useful. The 2 rulers with a clamp was a great tip as well!

    bloody hell - using two rulers and a clamp to make a jig…! Why did I never think of that? Brilliant!

    What a great, simple technique for making really any kind of scale window...end result looks much better than the clunky plastic ones in the kits!

    This is a really useful method for making windows! I like to buy some things ready made but I still prefer to make as much as I can by scratch building. Thanks for sharing this neat tutorial.

      Thank you John! The good thing is the possibility to be able make any window. The downside is the hours of work required.

      Thank you Michael! Good to hear you liked the video and the way of making windows. I would think that windows will be more and more 3D-printed, as the access to printers among general people increases. I have made a few projects with 3D-printed windows. You still need a kind of too-pricy printer to get it right.. But as things looks, these things will get better both in performance and lower in cost. Wish you a nice weekend!

    Great thing about homemade is that windows, stones, bricks, etc may be scaled to be used on any gauge RR.

      Jupp! 👍 That’s it. This method should work for N-scale (1:100) as well. I’m a bit uncertain about smaller scales though..

    I build wooden window frame. Then...on back side of window make very small cuts with X-acto knife. White thread pulled tight crisscrossing the window frame and tiny drop of Superglue. Hold until set. Lightly paint the threat with color of choice. The paint will glue the threads in place. Add plastic window material to the inside.

    Many thanks for sharing your brilliant ideas. I will give this method a go. Could one use a can of spray paint in the absence of an air brush?

    • @marklinofsweden
      @marklinofsweden  8 років тому +1

      +William Wade Hi William! It´s hard to do with a can because the can gives soo much paint in the beam. Try spraying from a good distance, and it might work. Please comment in the thread again about how it Went.

    Great video but you might want to try using a cutting mat rather than cutting straight onto your desktop.

    How do you build the structure with the tanks on it that are behind you in the beginning of this video? It is an interesting structure and I might want to create something similar for display purposes in the future.

    Do you have measurements of those buildings for DIY , or do you buy the kits of different buildings and remodel them yourself ?
