This is ABSOLUTELY, without question, the best sash window tutorial I have viewed. Great attention to detail with an excellent result! Kudos!

A different method from the way I make my windows. Very nice way you showed your method step by step! I've only built one house in 1/2 in scale. I will be working on a school building in 1/8 in scale soon and will consider doing a step by step of my window making methods. Thanks for posting this. I has truly inspired me!

Just curious. The window that you are making in this video looks bigger than O scale. Are you using traditional O scale of 1:48 or is this in between O and G? Like a 1:24 or something.

Your windows look great and will have to try painting the mullians. I would however recommend taping a 1/8 or 1/4" piece of plywood inside the mitre box to save the saw blade and it will give you a sharper cut on the back side of the wood.

Beautiful work. If I could just keep from slicing off the tip of my middle finger when using straight edge and razor.

Just get several of the prism shaped draftsman rulers, many scales available. Also way easier to hold on to.

+lora press I used 1/8-inch (approx 3mm) foam core board for the walls, cardstock (heavy paper) for the window sashes, and wooden coffee stirrers for strip wood.

What about stenciling on the mullions: mask off area then smooth on thick gesso, joint compound, or whatever white paste would be most durable.

The wall is 3mm (1/8-inch) foam core. The sashes are cut from cardstock I laminated in layers with glue to make it thicker. The wooden frames are cut from coffee stirrers. And the window "glass" is clear plastic from some packaging.

@@recoveringsoul755 also the clear moulded parts can be used for structure or plaster of paris and the like moulds of parts. Eg. Muffin shape upside down makes great column pilasters. many shapes available if you look.
