Right, most of these “short hair” videos have bobs, where the hair gets longer towards the top of the head to make that blunt cut, instead of hair all the same length.

Honestly Penny, when you first got your hair cut and styled it was so gorgeous. But I was nervous that the salon just gave you this amazing style and you might not be able to achieve the same gorgeous results at home 😪. I cut my curly hair about 2 years ago. The reasons for me were different than yours however, I’m 55 with thin curly hair. Mine is a bit longer than yours at this moment...but after seeing yours.....I’m gonna be needing it a bit shorter! You have always been stunning, but this cut gave you an inner freedom of sorts that has you just glowing with a radiance that is simply beautiful to see. My heart is so happy for you! 😘

Girl I have been stuck with the same short length almost my whole life. My curls won’t grow past my shoulders without growing out uneven. (The middle doesn’t grow as fast as the sides do). I literally style my hair down everyday and just change my part from side to middle. The confidence you have about your shorter hair really made me feel better about myself. All of these styles are so useful and cute. I could really see them working for me. Thanks girl for real

Welcome to the Short Hair Curly Club! I have a short shag right now but I had undercuts and short cuts for years and found that my hair thrives when it's short and my curl pattern really pops when my hair is short enough for the curls to loop in on themselves once! I have thick porous 2c hair, and having it short is definitely more thriving. One of my go-to styles is a medium or large claw clip on the top of my crown to hold my bangs back, and I also do like a mini pony and leave my bangs and side twirlies down. I also find with short hair I can get away with not washing for one more day than with my long hair because the rest of my hair isn't weighed down, and my natural hair oil doesn't make me look like a greaseball. Keep going!

Your short curls look so chic. This is exactly the look I was going for when I cut my hair short, but then I learned that my hair needs a bit of length to curl nicely, and I just look like a frizzy mushroom with short hair. 😒
i have been considering cutting my curly hair short for ages and your whole journey and haircut results made me seriously look into my options. my curl type is fairly similar to yours but I was just worried that if I went too short I’d be stuck with a poof ball on my head with zero styling options on any bad wash day. However this video, and how beautiful your hair in all these styles is, converted me!! I’m so glad to see that hairstyles are acc possible with the length I want to cut to and that I don’t have to abandon my beloved half-up, half pigtail, and bandana styles that I do on my armpit-length curls now :))) much love!!
Just go slightly longer at first youre worried that way you still have some to play with. You can take more off if you want .

LOVING this. I cut my hair like this about 6 months ago to ease the grow-in period of my undercut. Though it looks cute, I miss "doing stuff" with my hair. I cannot touch my hair when it’s wet or my curls will not form. I have to scrunch my product in and plop. If I run my fingers through it or brush it when it’s wet, it only waves and looks terrible. I envy people who can actually style their hair to help it curl.
Try avoiding plopping...i did and i experienced lack of buildup that drooled down on my scalp 🥺

I shaved my head last November, and as I’ve been growing it out, the slicked back has been my go to while it’s in this awkward not-long-enough-to-do-anything-with stage
I haven't shaved my head but it was barley chin length, I couldn't do anything with it and for some reason it was flat 😂

As someone about to chop off their hair, I am living for this video. I have been trying more protective styles with my hair lately, particularly the “Bernadette Banner” and the thought of not having long hair to braid and pin up scares me the most, but I am more than ready to get rid of the chore. I’ve been growing out my curls since I started properly taking care of them 3 years ago, which was my last year in high school. Your videos were super helpful and truly a solace to me when my hair was acting up (or I was just having a bad day). I thought all I ever wanted was long mermaid hair, but I am about to turn 20 and move out, so I am ready for a change. Plus the curly bobs on Pinterest have been calling my name. Your “chopped off all my hair” video came out the day after I sorta decided to go for it, so I took it as a sign to take the plunge and booked an appointment.
