I like the commander talents I was able to complete, but I have issues: 1) This screws new players, casual players, and players who play a wide selection of ships/nations so badly. It already took forever to get to 12 when it was a 1.06m. Now it’s 2.86m. If you haven’t already been accumulating elite XP, it’s going to take you 3x as long to max out a commander before you can even start generating the new XP. 2) They should not have removed the “use free XP” to level up commanders. The only other way to do it is gold which is only good for the whales. 3) I bet a lot of players didn’t account for the fact that they weren’t able to accumulate new free commander XP without a max 15 commander, so they will use the free XP on upgrading lesser commanders and are going to be stuck in a hole forever since you need 1.8m free XP to go from 12 to 15, and you now have no way to generate it. So they can only use grinding and gold. Assuming you have a lvl 12 commander and average 3k Commander XP (which is honestly high for the average player), you need a minimum of 700 games to get from 12-15 generically. 4) Some of the skills conflict with previously used skills, so you may need to consider spending 120k commander XP (or gold) to respec the commander. For instance Last Stand directly conflicts with Adrenaline Rush, Angry Bull, Etc 5) We’ve tested some of them, and they don’t appear to stack. Which is fair, some of these on the right DD’s for instance would be insane. A Smaland could nearly turn invisible. Aside from this, Specialist (green 14) is bugged right now and works on “any kill”. Which frankly should be how it works to begin with. It’s the only 14 level skill that can be negated in less than 60 secs of play. But in the end, it doesn’t change the fact that they just made maxing commanders for anyone who isn’t a long term/high game/whale player nearly impossible. At minimum they need to add Free XP back to the options to upgrade commanders. They basically just turned them into Gold or Grinding for the majority of the base. And grinding will take forever considering how ridiculously stingy WG is about Commander XP boosters (should be in the fleet store for instance, but never are). Only time you see any of the good commander XP boosters is in crates, sweeps, and occasionally cash bundles. I managed to max 2 commanders, and chose commanders I could float between multiple ships (Oldendorf and Jerzy), but I know a lot of players who are looking at the level 13 skills and not considering the others because they seem so out of reach. Excellent addition to the game, well overdue. But the execution is going to hurt more players than it helps.
I’m happy with the update, however the grind of 1.8mil xp for each commander is atrocious. We really need more commander xp per match. It’s insane a person playing 10 games a day will take 2 months to get enough xp.
Has it been confirmed that all of these new commander skills can be activated multiple times? I tried out “frenziness” and it only activated once, even though I received a close to 95% of my ships health in damage
Hi Bob! Many thanks for this very swift reaction! Great stuff. Very much like what they did. Lots of possibilities, long time that I felt so lucky with the game again and just want to play it. Having my Oldendorf newly on LVL 13 and gave him the red tree 3% range treatment. But it does not work. No firework, no range extension. Tried this with black, premium and tech tree ships. Battlewagons and cruises. Does not work! Anybody else having this? Maybe I have overseen anything.
4:52 that's the whole pseudo-dilema about unstoppable skill. Even it you fullfil the condition you can't guarantee a situation that makes the most of it.
I'm in ibuki trying to get to zao yesterday i was shooting at a schlifen with literally 2% hp left but he activated the 1.4% hp recovery skill for 20 seconds and he was literally outhealing My damage i feel soo robed that Game 106k damage Kraken and i Lost just cause i'm not a veteran
So for example, im playing kleber/marceau… say 60knts base. I get 6 kills using “speed surge 3% more speed/turn”… So 6x3% = 18%… 60knts x 18% = 11 knts… this means kleber/marceau goes 71knots… aint no fucking way
