Toyota needs to recall this part it is faulty. Everyone I know says the same thing it doesn't work . You place the phone with or without the case it says: charging started ..with solid amber 30 seconds later it stops charging and starts blinking in sets of 3 blink and pause . No matter what i do
Same here - 3 fast blinks: Dealer 1: The charger is doing that to PROTECT my phone and keep it from getting too hot. Dealer 2: Your phone and the car were made in different years so they have different software. i could fix it but I'd have to spend hours balancing the software of your phone and the car (what a load of sh*t) Dealer 3: Customer doesn't now how to use the pad properly. Frankly - I'm fed up that Toyota can't admit they have an issue.
Your video does cover a common problem for some owners. I have a camry hybrid 2021. I followed everything. It connects. But after less than a minute it disconnects. I’m not even in motion and the phone is not in a case. I tried with different Iphones and Even Toyota salesman was able replicate the issue. Toyota dealership first denied there’s an issue but then Admitted they are aware when I showed forums of complaints. Has anybody here heard from Toyota about a fix ?
so you have missed the biggest and most common problem here.. my camry charging pad works fine when my car is at stop and phone is centered but when i am driving my phone keeps sliding around disconnecting the connection.. i believe the pad itseld is way big . i am going to give a try to the anti slippery mat to see if it fixes the problem. if anyone else has a better solution please post it. thanks
I have Camry Hybrid 2021. I followed everything correctly. It connects. But less than a minute it disconnects. I’m not even in motion not my phone has a cover. I researched this is a common problem and Toyota at first denied it’s a common issue until I showed them the forum where a lot of owners have the exact same problem. Has anybody heard from Toyota about the fixed on this ?
Same problem - '21 Rav4 Prime. Dealer says mistakenly (I'm being polite) "its normal - your phone gets too hot" but it literally starts blinking 30-60 seconds in.
very helpful BUT I have a further problem. I put my fully charged iPhone on the charger. Then I turn on my audio bluetooth to listen to my play list while driving. When I'm all done, the iPhone is almost down to zero charge. It's like its draining the charge while I listen to my music. I thought it would keep the same charge because the iPhone was on the wireless charger. Any suggestions? What can I do to remedy this? All help is so appreciated. My dealer/salesman is of no help at all. TIA Maggie
Jeff, I have another question I need help with..... I have a new Highlander Platium Hybrid 2021. The tires that obviously came with the car say 51 PSI. The owners manual say to fill at 36 PSI. I just took it in for a 1000 mile oil and filter change just to get the initial oil out of it. The service department at Toyota says on the service sheet that they adjusted the PSI to 36. BUT when my husband checked the PSI when I got home they all read 50. My husband says that 36 is way too low for the PSI because the actual tire says 51. I texted my salesman and he has no ideal and said that I should go back to the other dealer who I had do the service because they are closer to me. Now I am so frustrated with the salesman who is not answering my questions. TIA Maggie
Hi Jeff, the charger in my car stopped working, there is no green light when I press the power bottom. is there any fuse or relay that controlling the power switch ? and where I can find it? thanks.
Did you ever get this figured out? My 2021 Tacoma does the same thing. The light on the switch turns on however the light in the charging bay will not come on and it doesn't charge. Wasn't sure if it's a blown fuse maybe?
My 4 day old 23 RAV4 Hybrid isn't charging my Google Pixel 6 Pro. It acknowledges the phone and shows it charging, but zero increase in % after long drives. Anyone else having issues with Pixel 6 & 7? Is it the elevated camera lip causing the prob?
vulcanman64 yep that’s the problem. I’m thinking about centering my phone on charger, then placing 4 separate squares of precut Velcro on all four points, making kind of a cradle to lay the phone in in exactly the same position every time. We’ll see.
I have 2022 Tundra with the wireless charger. It wouldn’t work with my iPhone 15. Toyota seems to just be ignoring the issue. Probably because they have so many other issues to deal with. I’ve had 4 recall issues so far on this truck. I replaced the charger myself with an EEF after market charger. This one works…barely. It charges very slowly. Like 9% in 30 minutes and it gets very hot. It doesn’t have a small fan like the factory charger had. Very disappointed with the Toyota quality these days. I had an 09 Tundra that I’d still have if I hadn’t totaled it hitting a deer. This new truck has had 14 (and counting) issues.
Hello I currently have a prius prime advanced with QI charging. I noticed that my phone will charge intermittently and currently have an Otter Box case. in your opinion, Do you think an otter box case would be too thick of a case?
2020 Toyota Hybrid Highlander iQ charge did not charge my phone and was without cover? One more question. I couldn’t start my hair hybrid highlander from remote control as you showed us ?
I think in my case, it’s the phone I still have, iPhone 7+. And I may not have the Qi on this Toyota model, ‘23 Corolla Cross. My phone has a camera that sticks out from the phone itself, so probably also a problem. If & when I update my phone, I’ll try to accommodate it. No big deal, something I’ll have the dealer look at when I do Toyota Care. I can still charge it with a wire and I can use Apple Car Play. All in all, I love the SUV, just have to get to know it & the normal noises. As a hybrid it is great on gas. The vehicle was worth the wait.
Can you (or anyone else) tell me if the cordless charger for a 2023 Corolla Cross Hybrid SE has a dedicated fuse, and if so, where is it and what is it labeled? I would like to pull the fuse so as to completely disable the cordless charging feature and use that recessed cubbyhole space for much needed storage.
Two questions: 1) Will upgrading my charging station void my Carmax MaxCare warranty? And 2) Is anyone able to get an iPhone 13 in an Otterbox to charge? I have had zero luck, despite trying every position available on the factory OEM wireless charging dock. NOTE: I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 and the iPhone is a 13 in an Otterbox.
Never had this issue with Ford charging pads. But my new 2023 sequoia will start ro charge and then stop charge after a few seconds. Ugh! Used usb plug and cable and works fine. Home charging pads work fine. What gives, Toyota?
Worst design ever. Phone keeps sliding whenever I brake ever so softly. Also keeps cutting out and my phone cover is not thick. I brought it in to Toyota and the service depot said they don’t know how to fix it. Lol what a company.
This pad has a very small threshold. As I move to engage charging, it snaps from orange, green etc. as I move it to where it was green, it doesn't engage anymore ( as I move it slowly or avg, it doesn't make a diff) At one point, I see, on the phone display, that it is charging, but at the end of a half hour ride, it wasn't charged one bit. Frustrating. The phone doesn't have any cover on. Brand new car and I have to take it in ..hmmmm
Thanks for the video, Jeff, but the reality is totally different from what you have shown. I have a 2022 Toyota Sienna Platinum. Actually, the wireless charging pad is faulty, which is a real bummer. If you put your phone on the charging pad for over 1-2 minutes, it stops working. This is a faulty part. Toyota advertised it and just took the money from selling higher trim levels with a faulty part. Toyota needs to recall this charging pad for owners or should be sued.
My Tacoma is a 2019 and it has the charging pad! I bought an iPhone 13 and use an Otter Box cover. I’ve tried everything and with the Otter Box on the phone the pad won’t charge, no matter what I do! Oddly my daughter has a 2022 Lexus and when I put my phone with the Otter Box on her pad, it charges like a champ! Way to go Toyota! 👎🏽
Charge pad is crap. I have a 2021 Hylander. Moving, still, case on, case off, every possible position... Nothing. Even when the pad is supposedly working, it doesn't juice the phone. Next youtube video is how to remove the pad so I can get this crap out of the way of my center storage.

Add me to that no-workee list. All it does is heat up the phone.
Add me to the list. It doesn’t work and wish Toyota gets it fixed or issue us a refund for something that doesn’t work

Same exact issue for me here on a rav4 2021. Could you fix it?
This makes sense, I have a thin case but I have a ring on the back of the case. I'm going to try it without the case.

Okay wait did the Mat work cause I’m having the same problem
Same issue did anyone get a fix?
It does not work. Same issue here

How about the 2020 Corolla SE. It doesn't charge at all. I need help in fixing mine pls
I have a Toyota Cross and an iPhone 14 max pro and the camera but won’t let the camera lay flat so it doesn’t charge. What are the solutions?
Try the rok form case. My friend have this case and he can charge his phone in his 2017 Tacoma

The problem is on phone movement
When the car move
o matar exactly. Big problem.

Thanks for making this video : )
Mine will charge for 30 seconds and go back to normal. Not sure the issueb

Go ahead Jeff. Tell us how to keep the phone from slipping around?
vulcanman64 yep that’s the problem. I’m thinking about centering my phone on charger, then placing 4 separate squares of precut Velcro on all four points, making kind of a cradle to lay the phone in in exactly the same position every time. We’ll see.
Right!!! How did they not plan for that?! 🤦🏾♂️

Hello
I currently have a prius prime advanced with QI charging. I noticed that my phone will charge intermittently and currently have an Otter Box case. in your opinion, Do you think an otter box case would be too thick of a case?
Otterbox is usually way too thick to wireless charge
How do you charge your wireless charger back to 100% and make it light green again?
2020 Toyota Hybrid Highlander iQ charge did not charge my phone and was without cover?
One more question. I couldn’t start my hair hybrid highlander from remote control as you showed us ?

Why cant I shut the charging off there is no off buton
Two thumbs up
What can i do if tha charger does not turn on ??
The well that the charger sits in is too small for my normal sized phone. 2017 Prius
My charged for like a few sec and it stopped. Not sure why
my problem is the phone slides off center while driving, I'm going to have to 3d print some sort of insert to hold it in place
Where can I buy this accessory for my Camry 2018 XSE?
we have new available for Camry 2018
I have a 2018 XSE and it came equipped in the car, yours did not?

Still no fix?
What kind case is that please ?
I believe its a speck case
My 2016 Avalons wireless charger has never worked, the dealership would fix it and said it wasn't worth it anyways...

Does every Xse come with this?
In other words just take in. No explanation lol
Doesn’t work on any new iPhones
Man this thing on a tacoma is so unreliable
