I have a deep respect for the brides of Christ. Thank you for your prayers, for the hope you provide millions, and for the love given to our Lord Jesus. Even at early 60's, I am wondering of a contemplative life for Christ. Prayer, work, prayer, God... God be praised and may you all be blessed!
Your life is what I wanted in my early twenties I thought I could find it in the church but it was such a confusing time in the Church then. I was distracted. Your life is such a blessing and pray for your perseverance. I still feel a longing for your life! May God bless your lives. Think of those of us who sought your life and were not meant for your vocations.
God bless you, Theresa! Thank you for your kind words. Our vocation as cloistered nuns can be difficult, just as any vocation is--the thing to keep in mind is that God called you to a specific vocation to do some work for Him that you may never fully realize until you meet Him face to face. We keep you in our prayers, and hope you will pray for us, too.
Thank you for your prayers for all of us out here in this world. God does answer your prayers for us. It is a joy to see that you also have time to lead ordinary daily lives like us. Thank you for your help witness of love and joy and the peace of Christ. Thank you for your love for us out here in the world.
blessings to the sisters and their consacration and ministry, may the lord bless their vocation always and forever, their families and their monastery and everyone that prays for them and with them, I join their prayer and entrust myself to their intercession
These sisters remind us how internally beautiful women can be. The majority of young to middle-age women in our country are a spiritual mess. They would be wise to look at nuns like this and discover the joys of a life free of instant gratification and empty possession....
I pray for to Jesus for more vocations to the OP of the Infant Jesus from the US and for the OP family worldwide especially from Europe, Canada and Africa.
Thank you for your good question. Yes, you are correct. It's can be either school or work, or both. Basically, we want to encourage a young woman to have some experience of living on her own, or being in the larger world than her family. So a woman doesn't necessarily need college, and sometimes work experience is actually better than further schooling. Feel free to stop by sometime.
O P Nuns Lufkin hello sister I hear in the news about the hurricane Harvey that happen in texas . I want to know how is the monastery? How are you sisters? . God Bless all of you
Thank you for your question. Our habits are a little warm. But fortunately, because they are white and not black, they reflect heat rather than absorb it. Yes, we do have air conditioning in our main building. There are smaller units in the two dormitory buildings which can be regulated individually. Nice to hear from you. God bless you.
Women can enter our monastery usually between the ages of 18 and 40. It is helpful to have some work or college experience. It is best for someone interested to come for a visit, to meet us, and develop a relationship. God bless you and Happy New Year.
Monastery does your heart able to say i will love to help & support poor mark a to receive miracle of one thousand dollars a week for life? Do not lie!

From Misión Cruz Hermitage in Somerset ,TEXAS. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ. Que asi sea!!!
I like the narrator because she has a prayerful attitude. You can, almost, meditate, while you watch and listen.
I think that is an AI doing the 'narration'. I've heard it elsewhere.
Very beautiful and informative. May God continue to bless all of you!
I, love Saint Dominic Guzman. I, love the Holy Rosary and I, love Catholic Nuns, Amen.

What does O P stand for?
Also how do they sell altar bread if their land is poorly suited for wheat?
Order of Preachers aka Dominicans. The altar breads are made from flour. I suspect they do not grind their own.

I wonder if their buildings are air-conditioned. It is very hot in Houston and the habits are probably very heavy.

The money thing does sound a bit suspect. Priests have their own money and bank accounts, though I suppose monks don't.
