THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this video. I'm hoping for an interview for the 6-year course, because I don't do any science, BUT I do A-level French, and the MbChb with European Studies is the most perfect thing for me. This will certainly help me with the hobbies/why manchester sections thank you so much.

Thanks for the really detailed informative review! I just wanted to ask: what is the exam format like (are they mostly MCQs)?
Hi, thanks so much for watching and for your comment. Yes for the paper exams they are 100% MCQ. Apart from that though there are also clinical exams and these are exams in which your skills are tested. So you will be asked to perform certain skills and an examiner observes and marks you. Every year will have a mix of both paper and clinical exams. I hope that helps! :)
@@hibbear is this for the annual exams and the exams at the end of the 5 years?
@@shizza2588 this is for annual exams and for finals. Practical exams are always worth more than the MCQ exams + in final year you have 2 additional national exams external to university which are must be sat by all medical students graduating that year in the whole of the UK.

Heyyy, quick question, for those who have to work at Preston during the clinical years, would that be for all 3 years? Would you not be able to experience working at other hospitals during this time?
Hi, thanks for your comment. For those who are allocated to Preston they would be there for the whole 3 years. You may get to go to some small surrounding hospitals but the vast majority of the time will be in the Preston hospital.
I’m understand you might not know this but does Manchester offer the European studies program for dental students as well?
Hi, thanks for watching! As far as I am aware the European studies programme is not available to do with Dentistry.

@@Annnabannanna hi Anna, I’m so sorry but for some reason I have only just seen this comment? Lectures are 1-2 hours long and in first and second year we had about 5-6 a week x

Hey, thanks for watching. Unfortunately I’m not 100% sure if they do PBL in pharmacy. I don’t want to give you any incorrect information! I’d recommend going through the teaching and learning/course structure section on the UOM website for pharmacy :)
Can I ask what your PEP/APEP research that you're getting published is on?
Of course! It’s on cochlear implantation in children :)
4:14 is the daily payment given to everyone? and is it enough to cover daily travel cost?
Yes it’s given to everyone if you are at a hospital other than your base. As for how much it covers it depends on what transport method you take. It’s a fair amount considering you get £150-200 at the start of the year too.
Does PBL mean that there are no lectures? If there are lectures, are these live or online?
No PBL doesn’t mean there aren’t any lectures. It just means you aren’t taught 100% through lectures. At Manchester you’ll have around 5-6 lectures a week compared to 10-15 lectures a week on a lecture based course. When I was in first and second year, all lectures were in person, although they were recorded so students didn’t have to attend and could watch from home if they preferred. Post-COVID I’m not sure if lectures have moved back in person yet or are still online, because I’m no longer in my pre-clinical years. I hope that helps x

Hey, if you have caring responsibilities you can apply for mitigating circumstances and you will not be sent to Preston.
What about doing MD medicine from Manchester University ??
This is a great course to do. It is a postgraduate course for existing doctors though, so you will need to already have a degree in MBChB or MBBS in order to enroll onto this course.

Hi Farah, you would need to look into taking the PLAB exams as I believe these are required in order for you to practice in the UK. Beyond that I’m not the best person to ask as I am not very knowledgeable on the routes to take to start working in the UK as an International Medical Graduate. Sorry that I couldn’t help more!
do you have any tips for the non academic information form?
Hi, thank you for watching my video! For the non academic form to be honest I just copied and used parts of my personal statement for the relevant sections and maybe added a sentence or two. I know it says you’re not meant to do that but I just felt so tired of application related tasks at that point that I just didn’t have the energy to write something completely new. Also I invested a lot of time and effort into my personal statement. It was written really well and included everything I wanted, and that’s what I wanted them to see. if placed at Preston for clinical placements, is it compulsory to move into Preston City or can you still stay at Manchester City with regards to student accommodation ?
Hi Marcus, thanks for your comment. No it is not compulsory for you to move to Preston, however, due to the long commute, the vast majority of students (if not all) will move.

The interview is identical to those applying from the UK

Hi, as far as I am aware the scholarship would need to be obtained in India, not from the UK. I would advise trying to research locally.
Are all pros eg travel bursary and free iPads applicable to international students too?

Hi, thanks for watching. Yes you can intercalate in a different university if you study at Manchester, however they only let you intercalate at a different university if the University of Manchester does not offer the same or a very similar degree. Hope that helps.

@@mangelo_1855 hi, I can’t remember exactly as it’s been a while since I first started but all of your qualification certificates and some sort of ID/passport I think (to prove if you are a home/European/International student). Hope that helps.

If anyone got 91-100 % in intermediate, they considered as A* Student

Do you mean for medicine or just generally the uni for any course? It depends entirely on your academic performance at the time of applying.

I don’t know how it works for an international student, but you need a student visa to come in the UK, before that you need to check if you respect the entry requirements for applying for Manchester university and you can compare the grades you got in Year 13 in Bangladesh by doing A-levels or equivalents. The best thing to do is to email the university and ask them directly for a better understanding.
