You don’t have to choose one thing at every uni in UK anymore - I studied Liberal Arts at Notts and studied loads of subjects and topics (you can choose whether or not you want to major in a subject !) great for those who are creative but also don’t wanna ditch all the subjects you are interested in. I had the best time ! ❤
I’m starting my course at mmu tomorrow and I’m commuting from home rather than living at uni, I’ve been quite anxious about making friends but this video has definitely made me feel more confident :)
I started uni a week ago and i was SO SCARED, luckily it’s been fine so far and i’ve met some nice people, also, you keep saying there’s a lot of free time and over here stressed already hahahah
Take it easy, and enjoy the experience! I also remember being very nervous and afraid of meeting people. But don't worry this is normal! You'll do great!!!? 💯
this is so interesting and helpful, i‘m turning 18 next week and gonna graduate next year and i plan to study graphic design with a focus on illustration and i‘m just sooo excited but also scared because i dont feel like a grown up that just lives alone and can do these big decisions by themself yet😭😭 its just a very scary period in my life but i know that i want to do it
uni is a great transition into adulthood as you still get more freedom but there are systems in place to help you if you need it! it is definitely scary, but you’ll be surprised at how quickly you adapt :))
Oh great to hear that. I'm going this yea and I'll also be 27 yo. Do you mind if I ask you about the course that are you studying? And what you thought of the uni? 😁
i went to uni for one semester before dropping out and moving back home to do an apprenticeship, looking back I wish I had a more enjoyable uni experience but the city and environment where the uni was, was just ugh. I already know I dont want to do the job im doing at my apprenticeship but I also know i don't wanna go back to uni, lol
Revolut helped with opening a bank account when I first came to England,to deposit my salaries. Every other bank wanted proof of address but I was living in accommodation 😢
22:19 I guess I missed it when you changed your mind about that but to be honest, I suspected you'd come around eventually, given the reading material you often seem to gravitate towards.
Is this university better than Salford for business courses i got offer from both mmu and Salford university which is best do u think ranking and reputation wise please let me know 😅(msc in digital marketing mine)
Hii hoping to go to mmu but i was wondering what is the University like , is it comfortable to be around in study areas and lecture halls. Does the university in general look nice? Im so curious and its a big deciding factor for me. Unfortunately i cant go to an open day :) btw your videos have been really helpful thxx
i didn’t do an open day either! depends which department you’re in, the art building and business building are gorgeous! i’m not sure about others tho they are developing the park on campus right now and it looks so pretty already :) it is a city campus tho so other businesses in the city are mixed in/next to our buildings and they aren’t always nice but overall i really like it and im also very affected by my environment!
Whats the difference between postgraduate abd undergraduate? Sorry about the dumb question, im in my ifrst year of A levels and still learning things about universities
I’ve never heard of a bar only for hospitality workers (I live in the US, California) is Sherlock’s unique in any other way? I would assume cheaper but maybe more serve yourself or something? I’m just very curious
i think it’s pretty common in the UK but this is my first! it’s like a normal bar but slightly cheaper and just not as busy because only certain people can get in :)
Please I am an international student who has never been to the UK before. I received 2nd year offer from both MMU & Sheffield Hallam for Engineering, I really gotta choose 1 uni from these so I can pay the deposit for either one of them, before start date at September. Do instructor’s support students? ? How are the facilities there like the library? Does the administration or whatever department that’s in charge of the students give any support to students? Overall what do you think of the uni?
there’s a year abroad program with connected schools but you can also go to any school you choose as long as you get in there! i’ve been thinking about it but i’m just not sure 🤷🏻♀️
@@CocoDaysorry I meant mature students or were they 18 year olds? I read they try and group the mature students together. Maybe that doesn’t always happen though
@@Morgan-tb7sq they were all 18 so no they don’t group mature students unfortunately, you just pick a random room and hope the other people are around your age this is why i think it’s better to go with private accommodation or a smaller number of people!
@@CocoDaynoted! Yeah they say they group on their website for whatever reason:/ I’m almost 25 so idk about all that😦😆 will definitely look into those other options!
each course and year is different but for illustration, first year we were in monday tuesday thursday friday 10-16:00 and then i would have to do a couple hours after as well but i have friends on other courses that didn’t have half as many hours
Me watching this even though I graduated 3 years ago with no intention of returning: 👁️👄👁️

I went back to uni when I was 27! There were a lot of "mature age students" in my course, I was def not the oldest! 😂
right! people think they’ll be the only ones but you never are :)
Samee, I still feel weird sometimes but so inspiring to read that other people is doing it ❤
