- Deleted the two mufflers and mid resonator. Full clips with cold start, warm start, drive by at different speeds and acceleration and full revs to redline.
This is what an exhaust is supposed to sound like deep not just plain high pitched loud that a lot of kids ik do its just obnoxious this sounds amazing
The best muffler for any 4 cylinder is a turbo.

Channel21Jaymz I give you the reason in part friend, but it is not the same an exhaustive aftermarket tested and made to measure, with tests done that guarantee in some cases a better performance than original exhaust of the car. We are talking about a very digital and electronic car that with a simple button passes from a conford car and a street to a circuit car. I personally would not risk doing such a job of cutting by cutting the pre-silencer and silencers.
But well hopefully that does not affect Vasek Cekan's car over time ...

@D4rt the dodge neon SRT4 came from the factory straight piped. The turbo does muffle the sound some so that's what they went with

@LeeRock 27 just get a new one and use the warranty. I've put 5k on my r and have had no issues at all. Not everyone is having them. And many people that do, get it fixed.
Just got one a couple months ago. WORTH IT. If you can find one at a good price, dont hesitate.

When I did this I had STUPID loud drone. I drive my R 73 miles both ways. That’s 146 miles a day. Some times even more. Only lasted a week like this and the shop that did it said since it was “an illegal mod” they won’t touch it. I went with the HKS legamax premium and have 0 drone unless I’m going uphill in 5/4th.
I switched to a custom MagnaFlow setup after changing my downpipe because I didn't like the way it sounded after that.
Still sorta has that k20 rasp that I love

@@IamCodyQuinn idk around $1000 for a cat back and no tune gives you maybe like 10hp, which is like $100 per horsepower, yeah no thanks. The car stock is way too quiet already, $200 for a muffler delete works fine. If you want to go crazy with bolt ons and a tune then you'll be spending a lot of money on performance when I'm sure many people are buying the CTR as a daily, because it's still a civic.

I've always wondered why that is. I have a 17 civic si coupe and I cut the mufflers off and it pops and cracks so much especially when I hit the limiter in first when I push it. Wonder why the type r doesn't do it.

It settles down nicely right between 70-75MPH so it's great on the highway on cruise.

The sweet spot for the least drone is right around 75-80 MPH in 6th gear.

Honda...they put fkn 20'' rims with thin ass tires and STILL they are tucked in the wings like never before...
Have you found out a way to minimize the suction sound under WOT? That noise is sort of ruining it for me and debating whether I should put my mufflers back on and just removing the large mid resonator (I removed the mufflers and small 1st resonator before the mid resonator).
If you block off the middle pipe that should go away. I like it.

@@dTheHammerb yes I am researching. I want to make sure I am emissions compliant and I do not throw any codes. The only two things left I would like to do at this point is a downpipe and intercooler. I am now on a Hondata tune with the PRL Hi flow intake.

Everything else is stock. I have only deleted the mufflers and mid resonator. I may do a downpipe at some point.

Did you face unptedictable power loss sometimes with this mod without any tune with the fk8?
For eg, sometimes accelerating you don't pull hard and fall flat (i.e. throttle response is delayed). Happens sometimes to me, not sure if its due to too much boostane usage with 90 gas or my battery that died twice in about 2 months.
No, it behaved the same. But now I am full bolt on with custom tune and meth with a different exhaust because it was too loud with the catless DP

@@g0d182 unless you are making 500+ HP honestly the exhaust really doesn't make any difference. I think you may have to look elsewhere for the source of your issue. If you her a Hondata you can datalog and your tuner could be able to pinpoint the issue.

I wanted a type r so bad. But 35-40k for 300 hp and fwd wasn’t worth it in my opinion, even for a type r. Ended up getting a 2020 WRX. Still though, very nice car and sounds great with muffler/res delete.

Kevin Li I agree that’s it’s better in some aspects. But no way is it 10k more better than the WRX. For the money, I’d go WRX 10 times out of 10. 40k plus for FWD Honda is ridiculous, even for Type R. Just my .02 cents.
ZFA 20 fwd Honda sounds really cheap isn’t it? But not the Type R, I mean this car doesn’t even feel like a fwd car, and it is literally so fast on track, I own one, my stock type r can go toe to toe with 911 gt3 on track
ZFA 20 the whole car is set up almost perfect, chassis tuned by F1 engineer, cornering is so sharp even my friend who drives M5 admits that my car corners better. Type r would absolutely destroy most cars on track and auto cross, and it’s also a perfect daily, for 35k, this is really a good deal

More than stock. It gets quiet cruising 75-80 MPH in 6th gear.
I'll pass. Love the Type R but nothing pisses me off more that a constant drone on the highway. Maybe its my age but I HATE loud pipes. Quiet and fast is how I like it. Always nice to have a conversation on a road trip. It fact there is one thing worse than a loud car, an automatic car with a loud pipe!
Then don't delete the muffler. The stock exhaust is quiet compared to other 4 cyl. i. e. WRX, Veloster
As an FK8 owner, it pained me to see him chop the exhaust. Painful cringe lol. BUT to each their own. I'll take performance over sound any day.

Sounds the same in +R there is no adjustable baffle. Feels the same power wise but I will be getting a tune to go with this and my PRL intake.
