I like the parallelism of Amanda doing to same moves as her father. Usually heroes just seem to KNOW kung fu. This is one of the few shows where it looks like she actually learned it!
For all those wondering, the main guy behind this show tried to unionize the animators for higher wages but Nickelodeon didn't like that. Which is most likely why the show never got produced.
@@RedOak30 to be fair, Nickelodeon also “didn’t have anything to run it with” and so they sat on the pilot for almost a year. AFTER the failed union organizing effort, they found Avatar and staffed it with everyone they’d fired off MY show. :)
SW99 yeah nick actually had a lot corruption going on at that time. You should research the reason they canceled Taina. Unacceptable. Nick's ratings plummeted shortly after these events until they introduced Avatar.
-Good female character. -Interesting relationship between the characters. -Funny antagonist. 'i dont play fair' -Good artstyle and designs. -Story?.. Weell.. Alittle limited from this being the pilot but has potencial to expand the world around it. Why wasnt this done? Was it too Jetix?
+minecraftaddictXD Instead they gave us Breadwinners, and Fanboy & Chum-Chum. They must've been very proud of those cartoons. And you know what else is money-driven, Gaia Online.
+DA MotoNeko It was made it 2001 and completed during or after September... that tower scene was kind of risky. Besides that it was during a time when people thought that cartoons were just for kids and they didn't want any action shows. The first action show Nick showed was My Life as a Teenage Robot and that was in 2007. Either way I'm kinda pissed, I could have grown up watching reruns of a badass female character with my name.
+Amanda Johnson actually they didn't want the show because the greater Micah Wright tried to unionize and make the animators get a higher salary but Nickelodeon got mad and shelved the show although I wish that stuff didn't happen because I loved to see what would have come from it as a series and it would have also been the first Nick show to be an anime before avatar but hopefully it might come back someday.
Bruh Constant Payne wouldve been AWESOME. But the real reason for it to be canned is because Nickelodeon was angry at Micheal Wright trying to unionize the Nicktoons writers to get a fair salary but Nick canned it. Guess they didnt want an Action show yet
Honestly, this show should go on the air. This would be an excellent partner of action with all its stages, their arguments and their antagonists amazed me a lot. Games such as Bioshock Infinite or The Last Of Us follow the same pattern as to how the main characters complement each other and are LITERALLY SUCCESSFUL, the pilot follows the same formula. If anyone can contact that such Micah Wright, tell him to make a campaign on Kickstarter, and you begin to advertise. This should work. This idea should not be wasted and Nickelodeon not mess with this.
sooooo fuchign cool *-* why it is not realeased? i mean the story is cool. The characters are rly fantastic and i love the dialoges and the humor. i am so sad that there is no apisode 2
This is like a kid-friendly Cowboy Bebop. Why, Nickelodeon, could you not fund this? FUND IT DO IT NOW (just change the 9/11 controversial thing in the show to something different -- problem solved)
For those of you who haven't heard, there is a petition drive currently underway to bring Constant Payne back to the attention of Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, and any other cartoon channel you can think of. Anyone who wants to sign the petition, here's the link: www.change.org/petitions/cartoon-network-and-nickelodeon-bring-constant-payne-back-from-the-dead#share At last count, there were nearly 80 signatures collected. The organizer of the petition - UA-cam username ImpetuousCrowd8 - is currently requesting fans of this pilot to use the power of social media (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) to get the word out. Let's show CN, Nick, and all the others that we are intelligent enough to know what a good cartoon is. Let's bring Constant Payne back together!
Something I don't understand is, this was a test pilot. As in, it wouldn't have gotten shown on TV. The whole thing of when Amanda goes between the two buildings in the aircraft is apparently one of the reasons the show never got made. But that just confuses me. If this was a test pilot, then why not just change the scene for the actual full first episode? Would have worked just fine, and the show could have been on and been very successful. I just can't believe that just flew over their heads like that. What were they thinking?
I don't think it was solely because of what happened on 9/11. Micah Wright demanded so many changes to the way the network operated, such as giving royalties for merchandise and each time an episode is aired.
Nickelodeon has pushed itself into a corner for the past few years, making terrible decisions and being too damn afraid to try some risky or dark themed shows. It is their loss that they didn't decide to green light shows like this and only allow the most utter shit to be shown on their channel. Most of the time, they just have SpongeBob re-runs, and other times they have the most boring and generic live-action sitcoms. The choices they have made badly impact them and unless they change, they will forever be in the corner they are currently in now.
***** TMNT is just one of those few cartoons that is keeping Nick from completely sinking in their abysmal reputation, that and like two other cartoons. I don't think there are any live-action sitcoms that are any good, though.
Actually, the reason it was never made was because the creator and writer tried to unionize along with other workers for better wages and work hours and Nickalodeon said heck no.
Micah Wright should definitely resubmit this idea to some other takers, because in comparison to most of the current programming, I'm genuinely impressed. It's a shame Nick won't pick it up, though, this would be a real nice change from their current comedy-lineup.
def wouldnt mind this poppin back up :O we dont have enough legit shows like this, they are all either super weird shroomfests or have no plot at all xD
Oh come on, that one part could easily be edited out and then you're good to go. I can't believe Nick didn't pick this up (oh wait, yeah I can...cause it's Nick). I have not stumbled across something this good in a while, so it's quite a shame. I've noticed that this is getting around the internet pretty well nowadays. I think some retouching is order to make it either more steampunk or futuristic because it's kind of a lagging unbalance between the two. But, really, don't give up on this one!
If I had the money to fund this I would. I would love to see this as a complete television show or a full-length movie. Then again, if I had the money to fund this, I'd be Bill Gates or someone of comparable wealth. Someone force Bill Gates to fund this.
@bulletproofKevlar Interesting. How would one explain the success of Avatar The Last Airbender? Kinda cuts down your argument right there. Teen Titans was pretty popular on cartoon network too if I recall.
In 2017. Nickelodeon should take all of these shorts and pilots that got sent to them yet turned down and make them into real cartoons, including Constant Payne. Why? Because it would be their 40th birthday.
GOD DAMN WHY WAS THIS REJECTED?!? i want to learn abou alex, milton, amanda and even tony (aka random dude at the end) and i kinda wanna know more about what happend to her mom and why milton was after that crate
I know some of you guys think its better to just put this on CN,but this still should be aired on Nick, think about it.If you are a fan of "The Last Airbender",you should be familiar with what nick is gonna air,"The Legend of Korra" which is its sequel that is gonna air some time next month.Think about this,if both The Legend of Korra and this pilot air on nick, and grow a huge fanbase,Nick will finally get the idea to take out the reality shows and put more stuff like this on the air. Who agrees?
@Superstarseven avatar is one of the few exceptions that actualy worked... teen titians was really anime esc it had teh goofy anime thing but that also has to do with the fact half teh filming is done for that show in japan... alot of the batman tas animators are japanese .. batman beyond return of the joker was done part buy the guys who did the opening to akira btw. maybe i should change it around not many work. though you have to agree western cartoons don't get anime art form very well

Without 9/11, Constant Payne would definitely have been a full series running from 2002-2008
I can't fucking believe they rejected this show. It's got the action, the characters and the great dialogue. I would watch it.
Even more of a reason to hate the people who rejected this.
SW99 yeah nick actually had a lot corruption going on at that time. You should research the reason they canceled Taina. Unacceptable. Nick's ratings plummeted shortly after these events until they introduced Avatar.
I think 9/11 may also been a factor since a flying vehicle crashed into a skyscraper here and that may not have flown well with censors and parents
Damn you Nick, I could have grown up with a badass female character who shared my name!
FUCK U NICKELODEON!!! I HOPE U ROT IN HELL U DIRTY SONS OF BITCHS!!!
IM FUCKIN ANGRY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't assume their gender, triggered.
YOU SUCK CYMA!!!!
Damn right, and damn straight.

Why isnt this a series yet? Its been over 2 Decades! You cant just leave an amazing first impression and then just dip and leave us hanging!

It's been over ten years. I think you could give it a chance now. Give this show a full season.
I really love this soundtrack ^_^
Hope this show gets justice someday .
It's a shame that Constant Payne never became a series.
Start a Kickstarter funding for this!

butternutcrunch The problem was that the producer was one of the people demanding unions for animators at Nick, so, there's your answer.
Eric Johannessen Thanks for the info. I'd actually already found that out because I read Micah's Wikipedia article.
And yet I have another reason why I don't watch TV anymore, because networks only feature lead while pushing away gold.
We need a fund raiser for this thing
This show is amazing! If only there was someone that Nickelodeon could partner with to fund this show... Any suggestions?
Cartoon network should greenlight this show
NO WAY! CN would completely ruin this and turn it into a comedy or something. Believe me... this will only be aired one a WEEK at best.
Or destroy this show by to many teen titans go reruns
Go back in time tell them NOT AND I MEAN NOT add that scene with the two tower building then this show can be officially Green litt 🚦💚
I would watch this all day and night till my friends and family worried about me. Why is this not a show?

The Secret Saturdayswas good into crossed over with Ben 10
_The Secret Saturdays_ was as great as this show.
Keep trying. Show Nick this page and show them how many people want this. I love this and want this is to be a show so bad. MAKE IT MAKE IT MAKE IT.
I think he created a visitor book for fans to sign to let Nick know there is a high demand for this show.
ONLY Nickelodeon would not air this show. I'm going to watch this pilot over and over again until I go brain dead. NO REGRETS!!!!
Back than I have never heard of this until probably 2003 or 2004 on the Internet
you have a huge and brilliant point there

This Cartoon of Constant Payne, It Has That Certain Cowboy Bebop Special Atmosphere.
This is it. There is no more. Unfortunately, Nickelodeon decided against airing it, for reasons that are explained in the description.

I like the setting in this pilot.
of the several reasons as to why good pilots never go anywhere being afraid of 9/11 backslash has to be the most reasonable one
This was pretty awesome. My only complaint is that the music is a little whatever, but that's fine for a pilot.
why nickelodeon! why!!!!
