This brings back my nightmare of when I did a moto trip from San Francisco to Portland for a bachelor's weekend. I didn't know what the plan for the day was and there wasn't enough room in the car so I took my bike to breakfast. After that I followed the guys to a really cool looking waterfall, the 620ft Multnomah Falls, to be exact. You hit the nail on the head with the description of the footwear lasting hours and miles, no more than single digits on both accounts though. From personal experiences; the stitching on the tpu toe and heel WILL fail faster than you can pay off the cc bill and the delaminating of the outsole at the heel will begin during the removal of the product from the box if you are not careful. Not acceptable for the cost.

Fjallraven. Good, but not exactly cheap. You definitely want to actually use it's features rather than just stroll around town if your're going to pay that much.
I've often thought of doing longer multi day camping hikes via motorcycle. But I worry about the motorcycle getting stolen while I am gone for a few days (or just people messing with it, knocking it over, etc).

So, is there so much stealing in the US, or have you just become so paranoid that you don't trust anyone anymore? There is crime here in Europe as well, but children still walk to school, I can invite the neighbors for coffee and forget to lock the door without fear that someone will empty my house. It is possible, but the chances are minimal. If you are in Europe, then: What the fuck....?
I've found that my Merlin Drax boots are surprisingly comfortable for hiking. In fact, they're the most comfortable boots I own! I have 2 pair of dedicated hikers and 3 pair of hunting boots.

True that Boas are replaceable but I must say that as a snowboarder that loves boas for their convenience I do hate their inconvenience when they fail. Riding for the rest of the day in a boot that cannot be laced up is a real pain on snowboard or on the bike. A regular setbof laces can be retied or fixed temporarily. Those boa cables don't hold knots. Duct taping my boots closed for the day is always classy.
How nice is waking up on a sunday, brewing a cup of coffee and seeing a video made JUST for me. Took my 625 on a long trip to a national park just with the gear I had and god damn did I get it wrong. It was a hot summer and I had army boots with a heavy ass motorcycle jacket, as I could not fit a whole another outfit with me... It was not fun and I ended up sending half my stuff back home and continuing the trip as just a riding trip. Thanks fellas, great content as always.
No mosquitoes were harmed in the filming of this content. Flying eyes: $230 dollars; 3M tinted or non-tinted safety glasses that fit comfortably under the helmet with UV and impact protection $8 bucks. While you're in the h depot getting your safety glasses, snag some deerskin ropers for about $20 bucks. "motorcycle" deerskin ropers $50 to $100 bucks. The bear bit was a classic!
Tongue planted heavily in cheek (as always). Killer ending though.... This kit costs more than my wheels - do same video 'on a budget' - bit more of a challenge if less gags. Thanks for best/funniset/smartest bike channel out there. 'Party-on'
This channel has some of the best production quality, and honest information I have seen on UA-cam. You guys come by your sub count honestly. Keep up the good work
Not really suited for the biking or hiking I do; if I'm out in the middle of nowhere, I likely spent a few hours of riding at speed on tarmac roads to get there, and need proper riding protection to do so. The bag is a neat idea, but I have an army surplus respirator bag that does the same thing, but comes with a shoulder strap. A standard seatbelt pad helps cushion the strap (kiddie ones are cheapest, and you get a choice of cutesy designs), and it's got a couple of pouches on it for camera and water bottle. And a third pouch sits on my belt for my phone, so I can wear headphones while I hike. Those boots are £320, though! I'll stick to dragging my workboots along with me; they're not suitable at all for biking, even before I added aramid fibre laces to replace the initial laces they destroyed in less than a month. They're still metal-free composite toecap, but they only cost £80 shipped and have full ISO footwear protection, as well as anti-static and ankle support in case someone rams a trolley into my ankle from behind. ISO standard means you can drop 600kg of palletised goods on your toecap without any issue beyond scuffing the plastic a bit, other than feeling like an idiot for trapping your own foot under a pallet.
I think I'd rather tie the helmet to my bag and take it with me. It'd be more of an inconvenience to me if my helmet was stolen than if I just attached it to my bag.
@@Mega-P71 Imagine if you could split the helmet down the middle and use it as a pair of walking boots. With a visor to keep your toes cool. That would be a heck of a thing.
I really like the Vidda Pro. It's great trousers and I would buy a second pair in a heartbeat. I tore through my Kebs in a year, the Vidda Pro is much more lasting, not as much stretch. Look out for the 2023 revamp where the lace buckle is on its own patch of fabric. It's much more durable and fixable, unlike the pre-2023 ones that Fjällräven didn't even try to mend, they just reimbursed me - not very sustainable to replace a whole garment instead of repairing it because 'that would alter it', or whatever is their reason. And I just hike, I don't ride motorcycles. I'm just here for f9's antics.
I like everything about Klim gear, except the price. I do draw the line at their footwear and helmets though. Those are simply rebranded Chinese products with a Klim price tag. I bought a Krios helmet. Cheaply made crap. Ive already had to use Gorilla Glue on it to keep the plastic chassis inside the helmet and the plastic button for the chin strap is broken. Ive only been wearing it for 6 weeks. It's actually a Nishua Enduro helmet that costs hundreds of dollars less without the Klim branding. I have no reason to expect any more from their footwear.
From someone who ran a survival school for many years and rides ultra lightweight adventure bikes, folks, don't fall for the ongoing scam that we need to wear hiking boots in the forest. If you have ankle/foot issues and need the support and or are carrying crazy heavy packs (which you are not adventure biking), fine, otherwise, cut your weight and size way down in your cargo and get a pair of lightweight trail training shoes - they have good lateral support being trainers, and have traction soles. This way you can wear mx boots to the trail head for complete foot/ankle/tib fib protection, take them off and walk comfortably. Or, with training like myself and many of the people who live in forest and natural environments around the world, we go bare foot or use flip flops ; )

Love your approach on this topic. I ride to fishing spots and to hike with my buddies quite often. The difference is that I change to my fjällräven pants out in the Woods and jump in to a pair of jogging shoes with sealskinz socks. The best fishing spots are often found after good dirt/fire road riding is my experience. Thank you for fine material ass allways! //Totte of Sweden (like fjällräven)
Have these exact boots and jacket, I agree! The boots are amazing, super lightweight and comfortable. The jacket is also good, arm vents work great but when they're zipped up they create a stress point in the zipper (like on jeans at the crotch) near the bend of the elbow and can be annoying. I'm in the SE United States so the jacket quickly becomes too much to wear immediately getting off the bike or stopping for too long but wears nicely at highway speeds.
Love this - I love riding to a mini hike in the bush! Gotta say though man those ootlanders have no ankle protection for riding to the hike, so no thanks. Either hard luggage you can get the boots in or a backpack that will fit the boots is my go to. Look at douche bags from scandi land for something designer, or any back pack designed to carry snow boots. For tougher hikes, hard luggage is better.
I recently discovered waders make pretty nice riding pants and wading boots are nearly as good as my riding boots. Add a back pack for back protection and to carry my rod, net, chest pack , wading staff and I’m pretty much outfitted to ride to remote fishing!
I have a pair of Ariat steel toe hikerish boots that I love. Comfortable enough that I wear them when I’m not at work. Just as comfortable as Timberland Hyperion but because of the mono leather construction I’ve gotten two full years out of them. Treadfast
The beer system should be universal, but alas, no one has taken into account "oil can" beers. Please, dedicate a video on the beer system of volume and weight, including "oil cans". This is of much importance, because I tend to help others with mechanical issues on their motorcycles and I use the "standard" beer payment system. A beer: to discuss the problem. A six pack: if I actually have to look at the problem. A twelve pack: if I have to provide direction and possibly tools. A case: if I have to get dirty. This, of course is based on whether its my favorite beer or just what is available, if the individual being helped (whether 18 or 90 years old does not matter) is female (I'm not sexist. I just like being around girls that ride. Sue me.), and the size of the can. Give us a hand, 45!

After a broken ankle riding in hiking boots I only wear MX boots riding off road. I'll bring hiking boots & lock my MX boots in my panniers.
I have those boots and they are indeed great for on the bike, and hiking.
4:49 You can tell he's a clone because he's perfectly still while a mosquito is on his arm.
It's this attention to detail that you can rely on when it comes to FortNine.
Wisconsins state bird, the elusive blood pigeon.
Wow....that ending......who approved that.....surprised it wasn't demonitized by YT.
//Totte of Sweden (like fjällräven)
the squeaky boots are just too relatable
Love the Wolverine hand at the end, kudo’s for adding reality.
I can’t stop watching this
Skinned knees. 🤣
Thank you for this.
I never realized how good of a shape 45 is in. Cheers, mate!
Connor nailing it again
A callback to the "why i take my pads out" episode is pretty nifty
Forty five? FORTY FIIIIVE!!
Screw these ads guys. I pay for not seeing ads yet your show has them anyway
You guys just make great videos
Is Ryan still using armor in his riding gear? I'm pretty curious now.
No, he goes commando now
He mostly uses an airbag instead and skips the shoulder and elbow pads at least.
"He slipped and skinned both his knees" I feel that might be a reference!
Riding gear _is_ armor 😅 with or without shock absorbers or armacor pads 🤓
@@shardlake might just be #45's way of saying he has a differing opinion to Ryan about armour. Either way it made me laugh
Love this - I love riding to
a mini hike in the bush!
Treadfast
I have those pants and I didn't know that pocket inside the pocket was for a knife. Thanks dead #45
They seem like the perfect trousers for teabagging your mate after he's had a crash.
Ryan: "Not bad for a pointy-eared elvish princeling. I myself am sitting pretty on 45." 🏹
I also wear the Utlander. Greetings from Germany.
I've had those Klim outlanders for about a year now, they're very comfortable, no issues with the BOA system, but it's my first pair with BOA.
i gotta say, you've leveled up dude. Well done
Ryan just kills mechanic when he sees the mechanic is doing a good job. BAD RYAN! 😂😂
I like this guy
Holy Geddy Lee !!! Nice boots but 320 quid nice? I love Klim stuff, but even for them this is steep!!
