On a semi-related note, if you're looking for another train related film, I recommend Robbery. It's a British film from 1967 directed by Peter Yates, who also directed Bullitt and The Friends of Eddie Coyle.

Happy New Year James. I enjoyed Darjeeling Limited, don't have disc yet. I think I've seen all of Wes Anderson films and Moonrise Kingdom remains my favorite. Haven't seen Apu Trilogy films, need to investigate, thanks for bringing to attention. Just checked and Apu Trilogy now streaming on The Criterion Channel, great as I recently renewed subscription.

Hopefully 2024 will be kinder to the Dawgs and Tide (mostly my Dawgs 😂). At least the Tide got an SEC Championship last year 😀.
@@20thand21stMovies Thanks for reply. As for the Tide, after a week I'm over the worst part of letdown. Both teams finished great recruiting and will be at or near top next season imo. Dawgs in sweet spot with Kirby, great coach and still young and he ain't leaving his alma mater.🙂
I feel that this is Wes Andersons' most underrated film. Also, Bill Murray is the dead Father/Husband.
I agree. Darjeeling is an underrated gem for sure. Good movie.
Have there been any rumors of 4K upgrades for Wes Anderson films? I'm still waiting for Criterion releases for the last year films ('Isle of Dogs' is 6 years old)
Good question. I have not heard of any rumors on that front yet. Will keep an eye out for it 😀.
Slept on Darjeeling for a long time, I'll have to give it another try! Apu trilogy is a masterpiece though. Hadn't even considered the connection/influence Wes could have derived from it.
It took me a while to get around to it but glad I finally watched Darjeeling, Brandon. Pretty good flick.
I think you should upgrade the Apu boxset to 4K. Blu-ray is so passe for a film connoisseur like you.
Wes Anderson said in an interview that The Darjeeling Limited was dedicated Satyajit Ray. You will find the interview if you do a search for Wes Anderson and Sayyajit Ray
