We recently had a conversation about your personality and character, as well as Pete's. Both of you are highly regarded members of our community. I am always impressed by your ability to carry on a conversation while shaving. One would think that you would cut yourself more often than you do. Well done, Mr. Tobin.
Great review sir! Love this scent. I agree that singling out 1 product to review at a time helps lessen lost information for the viewer. Easier for the viewer to focus, and increases information retention.
Thanks brother, especially with my scatter brain. I really want to focus on deep dives into fragrances and chat more in general lol Have a great Sunday!
Hey Tobin, great shave... even if you nicked yourself. I like the idea of the video mainly focusing on only the shave soap/cream scent, the razor, or the brush. Splitting them up will make it much easier to get your opinions on the one item. Have a great Sunday.
Thanks Brian, talking and shaving is always risky business 😬 especially with an efficient open comb and soap that was dryer than it should have been lol Enjoy your Sunday as well!
Pete is a great guy, he is very informative with what hes doing and hiw he does things. With chatting with him ever since the last HSB's release we have made a friendship. If it isn't much off I think Pete could make them a mystery scent and offer it as such like he did with another one but that is for him to decide. Your format is nice for brush and razor reviews. I think when you do a shave its best to stuck to a few things but fine to bring up a little on the other things being used. Have a great week
Nice Tobin! Yeah awhile back I wanted Pete to send me the fragrance concentrate for Kalifa and he told me that he had pitched all of it and was waiting on the new supplier order to come in. It wasn't bad or anything, it just wasn't on the same level as the new stuff. The chart idea would be interesting here, because there's three of you and you'd see where the intersection of all your likes are. To me vanilla is a neutral and it entirely depends what it's paired with to lean in a direction. I think a lot of scent notes are that way and the finished scent displays gender. Probably a lot of scents during the creation process are neutral and you use a couple of notes to kick it a direction. The razor looks great and a lot like a combination of a Fatip and a vintage German open comb. Can't wait to hear about it. Spreading things out is a great idea so you're not spreading yourself thin and maybe forgetting to mention something. Take care!
Thanks Ian! I'm liking the chart idea, I need to check my dms and chat with ya about it more. Were you able to accomplish all that you set out for yourself on Saturday? Well said regarding fragrance, gender and the direction a note takes. I couldn't agree more. My plan is to record my Razor Review Sunday and have it uploaded by midday. And thanks again brother!
Great video Tobin. A & E makes some really great soaps. I have to try one of their shave creams like Cherry Cola Shaving Cream. Have a great weekend. 👍
I agree most new wet shavers turn to Amazon first. I’m guilty. Back when I started wet shaving in 2015 I bought a Merkur 33c and a van der Hagen shave set with a mug and badger brush. I like the idea of new videos focusing on the main topic brush, soap, razor etc. Also I like when companies set high standards for their products. Shows they truly care about their quality. Hope you had a great weekend Tobin.
Me too Manny, 2014 to 2016ish I did my fair share or razor buys from Amazon, a few soaps and brushes too. The weekend was great, just barely survived the last couple of work days lol. Have a good one!
Pete sent me the EDP of this one and it smells fantastic. I definitely need to get this set. Have you tried re-lathering where you shaved and letting it sit while you clean up then rinse it off and continue your aftershave routine? I find it helps my skin stay hydrated longer especially with Pete's base.
I only have the small bottle of the EDP but getting the large regular sized bottle is a must. That technique that you're talking about Mike is that similar to how Glenn Sherman does it is that what you're referring to
@@Tobins_throwbacks I don't think I watch him. It's probably the same. I just lather all shaved areas and leave it there while cleaning up everything then rinse it off and do the aftershave.
I can only get one soap set from Pete. It was a choice between Bay Rum and Havana Breeze and then I watched your reviews on Ticket to Ride and now Miami Nights. Out of the four, what would be your one pick? Thanks for taking the time to reply💈
Hey Al I would definitely recommend Ticket to Ride and I would recommend Miami Nights second and the reason for that is both of those fragrances will appeal to a large audience of people and you can wear them anywhere and women love both of those fragrances.
He just didn't put his company's name on it, that's all I know. And again, like I said in the video, I have no idea how much he made. As far as I know, it was only what he had sent to me and other content creators. I'm only assuming that he had started production, and to what degree, if he had, I don't know. But knowing Pete, he was wise with it. I'm sure he looked for every available opportunity. None of these soap artisans are "wealthy." If Pete were wealthy, I wouldn't have been as impressed as I am.

😊 thank you Ashley
100%
Pete definitely is a man of integrity. As a fixed income retiree, I would have jumped at a deep discount. Miami Nights is a sexy scent.
Indeed he is! He continues to impress me!
The fact that you decided not to get that razor out whilst out and about is a credit to you, Tobin.
Pete is an absolutely fantastic man. With each and every interaction with him, I respect him even more. Go be like Pete, peeps.
I might have to steal that as a catch phrase
"GO and be like Pete, Peeps"😅😊

Aaaaaaaaand the Squirrel Lord completely forgot about the giveaways he mentioned😂😂😂😂

Good to see you again!!! I’m going to support you can be? Cool 😎
Of course! Thanks!
At the same time, I hate to think that he threw away all that product. Selling at discount would've been wiser
He may very well have. I'm sure he did something with it.

Lol right!!!
Dude, I never noticed before but you got some guns going on. Do you lift?
😁
Hi Tobin, I have Miami Nights and absolutely love it. Pete and Rich knocked it out of the park for that one. So much amazing stuff in this hobby!
It's so good have you had a chance to try Ticket to Ride yet for Year of the Dragon
@@Tobins_throwbacks Yes for Year of the Dragon. No for Ticket to ride.
