A damn shame that the ONLY incarnations of this dude were stuck in japan. even the shrunken and simplified robot master will cost you all your limbs. Please Hasbro and takara do something new mold? scout sized star, voyager sized star saber mode? something in between the RM deluxe and the "ultimate" class g1 figure. I have not seen the show but I do know that this guy is cool.
TJOmega hopefully he is roughly the size of MP 10 (preferably slightly smaller) otherwise he just seems very difficult to handle. If he does get a US release(doubt it though) I am sure they will just use the name Wing Saber(to avoid confusion)

I'm glad you like that toy so much. It is good to see such joy in a fellow toy collector. I have my own grail I must hunt for to. A Kamen Rider 555 Belt with all the gizmos and gadgets. So keep up the good work with both Rider and Former reviews.

dude, when I was younger I got spoiled a ton, and I had an interest for g1 transformers, like a ton of them, I have victory leo, but I just found out that I had Star saber, or maybe I just don’t remember getting it
I think I'd like to see how this design would look if it were remade with modern technology and mechanisms. Cool G1 toy though, and cool G1 character, too bad we'll probably never see him again.
I hope you get Victory Leo also some day. Having seen Victory Saber on hand I know how large he is and can just partly imagine how huge his combination is. Yay for true japanese plastic crack.

@Z39hyrr you know, i have been crossing my fingers for that...i always hoped Hasbro will pick up G1 toyline and using current technology (body portion/ articulation/ ball joints/ resizing/etc) and recreate a more cartoon accurate G1 toys...such as Optimus/ Megatron/ Soundwave and the list goes on.... I really hoped Hasbro would redesign and remake Predaking, Starsaber and LeoKaiser....i loved those characters when i was a kid...sadly the toys are too...different and lacking..

I bought this and Victory Leo in there super box? Guy on ebay listed it like less then 5 minutes B4 and had it buy it now at $700.They are great figure in there own right (you have to be a G1 fan) but if you can only get one or the other Star Saber should be your first choice.

I've got my own personal "holy grail" coming from Amazon...yes, Platinum Predaking. Predaking is still such a grand and majestic toy, and I had to have him.
+Jetfire48 Everyone's holy grail is different, it's not always rare or expensive, just one you always wanted to have and for one reason or another hadn't gotten yet. I had a friend who's grail was G1 Seaspray. Different for everyone.
The cloest i'l ever be to Star Saber is my Robot Masters version. I love it anyways. I hope they make a classics version of Star Saber in the later runs.

i owned one of these as a kid (i'm from hong kong originally, so i suppose japanese toys weren't hard to come by). as i got older and left my toys in the basement, my parents gave them away to people. there is some kid out there (who's now probably 20 something) who received one of these for free... ugh...
Watching this makes me want Hasbro to make a Generations Leader Star Saber.(As well as a Leader Deathsaurus and a Victory Leo that can combine with Star Saber.)

Takara did a fan poll this year to let people decide on a new Masterpiece class toy. Star Saber won.

No matter how cheap you got it. I got a Powermaster Optimus Prime for 2 euro's a few years ago. Not complete though, just the truck and trailer.

The first one I got was very defective but fortunately the second one wasn't. Amazing toy.
