  • Back when I began modifying my Triumph Street Twin I installed the New Rage Cylces LED fender eliminator rear light. Just over 2 years later the rear light seems to have a loose connection on the right hand turn signal, only working occasionally, and then when it does work, only some of the led's light up.
Here's how I fixed it... Get ready... it's a bigger job that I anticipated. New rage cycles sent me the replacement light for the Triumph Thruxton R and I had to pay shipping to the UK at about £50. The silicon from Screwfix was £10, so all in this job costs about £60 and about 4 hours work with all the cleaning.

Your dedication and patience is most impressive. I would have just asked for a full new unit.

I was expecting a new unit to be fair! When it arrived it had come from the USA so sending back etc would’ve been a logistical nightmare. I get the impression these units are only made in small runs or amounts and I was given the next best thing. It was a nightmare of a job! Not going to lie 🤦‍♀️🤣

My Thruxton R eliminator is also the same symptom, so I want to repair it.
I would like to order parts for repair from NRC, so please let me know how to proceed.

Hi. I purchased mine from eBay, so I contacted the seller who arranged for the replacement and I paid the additional postage fees which was about £65 I think . I would contact the seller whom you purchased it from

Happy new year Toni, great to see you back.🎉🎉
This looked like a horrendous job and I don't think many people would have tackled it, so well done- you're nothing if not determined. My only comment would be that even if the original leds had worked I don't think they were an improvement on the standard bike lights. In my humble opinion they're not in keeping with the retro style of the bike, but you're welcome to shoot me down in flames, or just shoot me.

Happy new year. Yes it was a bigger job than originally anticipated. I only realises once I’d stripped it down. For me personally I love the look of the nrc tail tidy I think it’s one of the best looking models out there. The original lighting or those that look similar are just too ‘old man’ for my liking. If the triumphs weren’t so good at being easily modified I probably never would have opted for the street twin to begin with. I prefer the 80s night rider style for me- but each to their own 👍

Doesn’t sound like great customer service considering the tail tidy costs so much in comparison to others. It does look awesome though!

Yes I would have to agree with you there. They it cost about £250 new. It is about 2 years later and via a seller on eBay so I was surprised to get a response and some sort of replacement. However I had to pay £50 postage to uk and pretty much dismantle and build my own unit, and the wires were slightly too short as you saw. Yes I must admit the customer service wasn’t great. I try to be as honest and transparent so people can get a real user review. Thank you for your comments I think they are spot on! 👍
