I just found this video I found it very funny. All so true. I have never been lost even when I was in New Guinea prospecting. Liked his sense of humour.
Hello from the American Midwest. Indiana to be more specific. I have the Ace 250 with an 8.5 X 11 inch DD coil on it and I have a pinpointing tip for you. When I pinpoint with the coil, I move side to side to find the strongest point. Then, without letting go of the pinpoint button, I rotate the coil 90 degrees, being sure to keep the center hole exactly in place, and again move side to side to find the strongest point. One last time I rotate back 90 degrees and repeat. You'll find that the target is now precisely under the center hole.
Kevin Loughin hi my name is Travis and I live in Indiana up by Lake Michigan and I was wondering if there's any good places to metal detect by me I know there's some places down in lower Indiana for the Civil War campsites were I was just wondering if you knew anywhere in Upper Indiana to metal detect
that mangled metal seems to bullets that were shot into the ground. You can see how they kind of mushroom or flatten out on impact. The two circles together are a bracket for mounting a bayonet to a rifle.
Hello from the New England section of the east coast, U.S.A.! "Every bit of the woods looks like every other bit of the woods." Lol!! You can say THAT again! :) I grew up in the country and know it's easy enough to get turned around when you're preoccupied with other things. For anyone wanting to go metal detecting in older deep woods : take along a spray can of fluorescent paint...the kind of paint that is TEMPORARY and will wash off after a few good rains...and spray an old tree stump or log, or a few downed branches every now and then, probably 50 to 100 feet apart. Of course, if you spray an old log and then turn into a curve where you won't see that mark, spray another old log/branch/stone in that curve before continuing on. If you don't have any spray paint, though, you can always take a few larger stones and make a small but noticeable pile of them every 50 to 100 feet. Use these piles as your "path markers". Also, your eyesight and the density of the foliage around you...or the lack of it as in late Autumn, Winter, and early Spring...will be the ultimate determining factors as to how far apart your markers need to be so you won't get lost. :)
So funny , had a good laugh. When I started a while back it was the same thing. After a.few years you will learn what what your machine is telling you and how to upgrade. Funny to see. Great vidio.😅😅
I know this is an old post, but thanks. you've made me feel better. I'm a beginner and I've only been out twice. I put it on zero and dug up anything I picked up a tone on. I need lots of practice discerning the tones. wish you were still making posts. Cheers!
Hi mate I have done many trips to the bush "outback" prospecting and never got lost. But there were times I found myself " temporarily geographically misplaced" , you become a member of the "fugarewe tribe". That's when you say to yourself or someone you meet "where-the-fug-are-we!".
since I've gotten much older my sense of direction isn't what it used to be I now carry a handheld GPS marking where I left the car....makes it so much easier to find....I have a Garmin GPSMAP 62S loaded with maps of my area...it's great!...
Try taking a magnet with you. It will help you to determine if an item is steel and also when you are digging a hole and keep getting and signal , but cant find anything, it might just be a small piece of wire or part of a rusty nail, you can run your magnet around the hole and helps to eliminate than kind of stuff.
good vid keep at it we all had problems when we started just don't get irritaded an quit keep at it dig it all learn the tones an you'll dig less trash an start diggin better targets you all lots of history over there amazing finds come up over there good luck an happy hunting!!!subbed
I enjoyed your video. taking a magnet along can help tract down some of those signals that seem to move around. over all great video . keep up the good hunt
according to your queston abut the bullet shels;......TW 43 are M2 machine Gun bullets...43 is year of make, TW stands for Twin Cities Ordnance Plant Minisota.
My detector seems to always go off or detect aluminum cans as silver...I dont know why that is...a tip is...if your detector detects "silver" and you dig down around 5 inches, and you haven't found it yet...this means it is a larger target, deeper down...which is usually a can...I have found this to be true 100% of the time...
Aluminium and silver detect around the same discrimination range. Same as iron and gold are similar range. Discriminate against aluminum you won't find silver. Discriminated against iron you won't find gold
Hi those shells you have are properly aircraft rounds/ cannon rounds i think because i find spitfire rounds down in Dorset beaches which look the same and its a good find going back to the war days, keep up the good vids
Hello. You will need as everyone has stated: gloves, and then the following; Mosquito repellent, or go to your hunting and fishing stores and by a hat mosquito screen which I always place in my back pocket, it downs matter what your fans think of how you look. When it comes to getting a mosquito viral infection like Dengue or malaria, you will understand why you should where one. Also No matter how hot it is where long sleeves it helps with the mosquitos even though you placed the repellent on your face, eared on the out side and back of neck. Boots never sneakers, why in case you sept on something that slithers and bites you the teeth won’t go through them. And also nails will go through sneakers but not the boots. Also when scanning an area with camera slow down it gives a much more indication of where you are and if you get lost or your camera gets found with out you the person who sees it could possibly help find you by getting the camera to the police. Also if you look on line there is a shovel that is about three feet with a long thin blade with teeth on bothers sides that cuts thru roots like butter. You simply make your first cut and make a small cutting circle pop out the “Plug” that’s what it is called and away you go to the next hole. Gl and HH
Course you can and thanks for the tip. You are right I guess it really might be a bad way to go if you find a sharp peace of glass in the ground hey. Will get some gloves. David.
The round assembly you hold up near the end of the video are Scope Rings, used to hold the rifle scope in place. Looking at large dimension I assume probably used on 8MM Mauser. Thanks for sharing.
I just found your video and I like it! I subscribed so that I can watch all your recordings! I've had my detector for maybe 3 years, but I have hardly gotten to use it as it is hard to find permissions. So I have found most of my finds the naked eye well plus my glasses. LOL
LOL sometime no avoiding the rain in Seattle ”The Great North West”. Have a rain fly coat on hand any my gear is good water resistant so no worries all part of the adventure but nicer when prepared for the elements for sure.
Old video, but one thing i noticed about the detector you are using is that the wire down at the search coil should wrap over the metal shaft instead of under it. This will sometimes cause false signals because the coil will often sense the wire that is hanging down in front of it(have seen it happen before)...Just my worthless 2 cents worth of observation
Hi Sir, I live in Baden-Württemberg and I'd like to start this hobby. Do you know if it's possible to search in this region?! I hope you can give me some tips. Thanks & HH.
Thanks for the video. Can you tell me more about the laws for metal detecting in Germany? I'm planning on visiting my Sister in Berlin this year and would like to bring my detector.
hi this long shell is from 12,7mm antiair machine gun, small shells are from Mauser M92, this double ring is from large-caliber machine guns chain links.
Always carry some "OFF" or Deet. This will help you with the mosquito problem. Also you could go to a hunting, camping store and pick up a Hunters mosquito hat that comes with a mosquito hat comes down to top of yohr shoulders.
In America here I always carry a campus and map, That was after the first time I got lost for 3 hours. Now I take a heading when I enter the forest, Never been lost since.
great video! nice to see fellow swiss swiss diggers. may i ask where you got your info on the legallity of detecting in switzerland? i have asked and researched and all i have found says that detecting historical sites is illegal, but no law specifically bans privat individuals from detecting here. loved the big munitions! 50 cal.?
when hunting in the woods get a gps so you can find your car...wear gloves and bring a bottle of deet...and a cellphone.....especially if you hunt alone....happy hunting....
You say you can't detect in Switzerland. I read that it changes from canton . I live in Ticino and would like to start detecting . Have you found any rules that I may need to know
How do, I'm in Gary Indiana and believe it or not I have found some great things here, coins goggles and even gold bracelets and kids toy cars, pretty much everything can be found, even with my $44.00 Barska Winbest Pro from Menards, with the 11% Mail in rebate, lol yes not a great brand but I still found coins 8 inches deep in the wet sand! Good hunting!
Your finding are 99% war related. You have to be very careful. I was born in Poland and as young boy me and my friends in 1970's were finding a lot of life ammunition in the forest just like yours. No metal detectors then. Those forest are littered with war relics but some are still dangerous.
Hi, I just found your channel as I have just started to detect. I have to ask.....have you spent time in Ireland? As you have an Irish twang to your accent and you use certain words that are used over here 🤔😁. Anyway thanks for the vid and good luck with the detecting.
Hi from the US, You found something very important, you found your Automobile. Seems like it would be a long walk home. Is that an Electric car?. My Metal detector has been sitting and collecting dust about 6 years. I'm trying to get motivated to use it as soon as my pin pointer comes in the mail. Thanks fer taking us along. Hope you find your shovel someday. Best regards; Angelo
Is there public GPS signals available in Germany? Take a stand-alone GPS unit and make a waypoint is the carpark before treading out yonder. Enjoy the hunt! Check out my metal detection recovery vids at #SeattleRingHunter
I actually wrote an email to the swiss forest authorities and they told me that it is legal to go metal detecting in switzerland. You have to consider the law of historical finds though.
Sorry, I see someone has already recommended wearing gloves. I should have read through the comments first. I hope you're still having fun metal detecting.
Love your humor.....one of the few videos I've watched that is actually entertaining. Thanks Friend....good luck
I just found this video I found it very funny. All so true. I have never been lost even when I was in New Guinea prospecting. Liked his sense of humour.
Great personality, very amusing, LOL. Keep at it, you'll do well...
Great personality! Very entertaining, despite the lack of finds. Better finding to you! Focus on places of activity by lots of people.

You are tooooo funny!!! Love your vid!! Gonna have to watch it again. Dont pass up those signals!! 10 holes for 1 prize is what I ve heard!!!
Recommend gloves mate. You can often find sharp objects poking around. I learned the hard way.
Yeah i said that
GarmischGator I sure wouldn't be rooting around with my hand like that.
Especially junky areas where there a be top on a broken bottle..
I know this is an old post, but thanks. you've made me feel better. I'm a beginner and I've only been out twice. I put it on zero and dug up anything I picked up a tone on. I need lots of practice discerning the tones. wish you were still making posts. Cheers!
Enjoyed your video, the first one that has given me real genuine entertainment and a laugh too. Keep making them, you're a natural talent at it.
shot in the dark, but the last find 20:15 kinda looks like a mounting bracket for a bayonet on a rifle? That was the first thing that came to my mind!
Hi mate I have done many trips to the bush "outback" prospecting and never got lost. But there were times I found myself " temporarily geographically misplaced" , you become a member of the "fugarewe tribe". That's when you say to yourself or someone you meet "where-the-fug-are-we!".

Hi there's a App for the smart phones you can down load. Or drop bread crumbs LOL.....
Try taking a magnet with you. or 90% it will be a hot rock . hot rocks can put you off target thinking its a good target.good luck.
Gene F No one ever suggests using a magnet, not even Stealth Diggers channel...makes a lot of sense.
I would say its a button but it seems like an instrument piece like out of a harmonica or old banjo ?
Why have you stopped making videos? You were doing okay in the USA
HE KILLDED HIMSELF WITH A GUB HE FOUND
Hey there brown eyes. Loved this video. U are comical and cute. I enjoyed watching . Thanks for the share
I just subbed to your UA-cam channel after finding this video on Facebook, my wife and I are looking forward to more of your videos !
Great job Bro, Look at it from the fun side !!! (good show o boy )

you make me feel a lot better. my first attempt at digging resulted in pocket change. aaaaaarg good video
I enjoyed your video. taking a magnet along can help tract down some of those signals that seem to move around. over all great video . keep up the good hunt
Hello from North Carolina, using AT Pro, and Ace 400.....
Awesome video 👍
Thinking some of the metal pieces are either shrapnel or possibly anti aircraft fragments.
thanks for the video im thinking about takeing this up looks fun good luck out their !!! and dont get lost
The sound of the mosquitoes is making my hair stand on end lol I hate bugs! Funny vid! :)

Make a sling for your shovel so your hands will be free. Enjoyed the video.
i can add to this always keep your shovel out of range of your dectectior when detecting.
Hi those shells you have are properly aircraft rounds/ cannon rounds i think because i find spitfire rounds down in Dorset beaches which look the same and its a good find going back to the war days, keep up the good vids

Fun Video...Thanks for Sharing...may I suggest a good pair of gloves, glass can ruin a hunt
Course you can and thanks for the tip.
You are right I guess it really might be a bad way to go if you find a sharp peace of glass in the ground hey.
Will get some gloves.
David.
I am in Arizona and we hunt mainly for gold. There are also artifacts and relics in some areas .Thanks for the video. I did subscribe to your channel.
Are you finding any gold?

whats the green wrist band
hi this long shell is from 12,7mm antiair machine gun, small shells are from Mauser M92, this double ring is from large-caliber machine guns chain links.
The Ti W head stamp on your cartridge is an old world work to 50 caliber round
Always carry some "OFF" or Deet. This will help you with the mosquito problem. Also you could go to a hunting, camping store and pick up a Hunters mosquito hat that comes with a mosquito hat comes down to top of yohr shoulders.
surplus military DEET is cheap and works great...but it does have a mild odor...
The double ring things are most likely from the belt that holds the cartridges that you found, see how they fit into the rings.
You need a compass. Take a bearing when you leave your car, so you know what direction is back.
In America here I always carry a campus and map, That was after the first time I got lost for 3 hours. Now I take a heading when I enter the forest, Never been lost since.
How long do you drive from Switzerland to Germany?
Why is it illegal to dect in Switzerland ?
This is the story of my metal detecting life! Lol, especially when he says "please, please, please be something good"
The TP is a valuable commodity. Here in the states we call it mountain money.
great video! nice to see fellow swiss swiss diggers. may i ask where you got your info on the legallity of detecting in switzerland? i have asked and researched and all i have found says that detecting historical sites is illegal, but no law specifically bans privat individuals from detecting here. loved the big munitions! 50 cal.?

It's never a waste of the time it's always part of the hunt.....but most of the time I hunt in coin mode
Cool. Keep hunting mate.

Do you need to get permission in Germany to detect or is it completely open?
I'm sure you can detect inGermany with a license.
Switserland is not totally illegal. I have a permit.

Hi David, are you still detecting ?.
Maybe that's a handle for a item that you need to twist to use
Hi, I just found your channel as I have just started to detect. I have to ask.....have you spent time in Ireland? As you have an Irish twang to your accent and you use certain words that are used over here 🤔😁.

Good video mate
Sounds like you spent some time in Ireland , probably Dublin... Yes ?

Sorry i just heard your comment about been in Ireland.. scrap that first question...
Take a magnet with you...that will narrow down the different metals...
😂😂 after 3 or 4 years someone might know what this is - nope
i am a beginner...watching you.
How hard is it to put the apple in the bag 😂
Garmin makes a great gps for walking.
You kind of sound irish
your video was really entertaining, but it was posted quite some time ago. I'm curious if you found another hobby? Maybe stand up comedy...
Sorry, I see someone has already recommended wearing gloves. I should have read through the comments first. I hope you're still having fun metal detecting.
Try Tesoro tejon metal detector one great machine ten times better then high end products
enjoyed the video... there is a Facebook group called ID Me that will help you with identification of items. It is sponsored by Minelab..

sorry it's not true .. it is not allowed to metaldetect in Germany
without licence. specially in the forest it's not allowed.
