I love how every character in this movie looks like a very classic monster. The teacher, is a zombie The Asian kid and Victor is a mad scientist The tall kid with a sweater, is Frankenstein The short kid was crooked teeth in a hump on his back, is obviously Igor The weird girl with the cat I feel supposed to be some sort of Michael Myers but he just stares at you in a creepy way The sea monkeys supposed to be a reference to the gremlins The giant turtles supposed to be a reference to Godzilla Ect. There is just a ton of references
@@EChacon That’s exactly probably who is based off of looks wise, but his attitude, I feel like was based off a zombie, including his cricket teeth and his crazy eyes

Can't believe it's been almost 10 years since this movie came out, on top of that it is also Tim Burton's second Stop-Motion feature film he directed after _Corpse Bride_ Also the voice cast in the film is impressive as you got Burton regulars such as Winona Ryder (Elsa Van Helsing), Catherine O'Hara and Martin Short, the latter two providing voice for many different characters in the film such as Victor's Parents, the Weird Girl and the Gym Teacher (both by O'Hara), and Nassor and Mr. Burgermeister (both by Martin Short). In addition, Edgar "E" Gore is voiced by Atticus Shaffer better known as Brick Heck from _The Middle_ and Mr. Rzykruski is voiced by the late Martin Landau.
Also the 2012 Frankenweenie film is a remake of the 1984 Live-Action short film of the same name also directed by Tim Burton, unfortunately the short resulted in Burton being fired by Disney due to the short film being dark and frightening for young viewers. However, following the success of Burton's later films _Pee-wee's Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Batman,_ and _Edward Scissorhands,_ the film was eventually given a home video release in 1992.
My conclusion/theory is that maybe the reason Sparky didn't go bad and the others did is because Victor brought him back to life out of love, meanwhile the rest of his classmates only did it just because they thought it would be cool or in order to win the science fair
About time someone else appreciates Frankenweenie!! It's actually my favorite Burton animated movie🐶🖤 it has such a special place in my heart and cry everytime when watching it. I'm planning on getting a Sparky tattoo soon. I find the movie personal since I lost my dog, her name started with and S and my second name starts with a V. Victor and Sparky.
My favorite part of this movie is when Edgar tells Victor he knows Sparky is alive, and then he says, "Oh, Mrs. Frankenstein!!" like he's about to rat him out, but then says, "May I have a cookie?" which was totally not what I was expecting
I have a real soft spot for this movie, a lot of people didn't seem to like it very much but I think its surprisingly sweet in its message especially with the science teacher's monologue; the ending is a little rushed but I loved the references with the pets turning into versions of old school movie monsters (Sparky as Frankenstein's monster, the cat as Dracula, the hamster/gerbil pet as the Mummy, the turtle as Godzilla, and I think the sea monkeys were supposed to represent the Creature from the Black Lagoon) which I think the whole movie being black and white reinforces too Edit: I forgot about the rat as the Wolfman and the fish as the Invisible Man, god there are a sh*t ton of animals in this movie
And Frankenweenie was a 1984 film directed by Tim Burton, so this was technically a reboot with some extra characters and plot. That's why the opening credits say, "Directed by Tim Burton" and also "Based on an original idea by Tim Burton."
Sea monkeys, to my understanding, are actually a type of shrimp. However, they are sold as small monkeys in these plastic containers (advertisement wise). I used to get my mom to buy them when I was little. You can actually keep them and breed them, but it takes some work. I believe there are some youtubers who've done it.
I'm pretty sure this movie is connected to the corpse bride because Victor looks like Victor ( plus the same name lol) , and the dead dog we saw in corpse bride looked exactly like sparky . Plus, the principle looks like Victoria's dad in corpse bride. And Elsa van helsing is Victoria from corpse bride
I think it could be like And ancestor, because the parents are different since these parents are actually good parents lmao, and theres thecnology that wasnt in Victors Corpse Bride time. Maybe Victor Frankestein is an ancestor of Victor, could be. But since this is an animated movie based on the live action frankestein, and since its all based on old horror movie references, that could explain the similarities. Its cute ♡
No, Tim Burton himself said that his movies are not in any way connected and that he was really close to his childhood dog so he likes to put that trait onto his characters
tbh this movie had a lot of potential to be rlly great. the concept of kids bringing dead animals to life is so cool, and that "weird girl" with the creepy eyes could've done some more. could've been way better if it wasn't g-rated.
This movie is actually based on a short life action film Tim Burton made on the side while working for Disney in the past, it's also called Frankenweenie
Yeah, I read about that. It's really interesting. When this movie first came out, my friend told me that there was an original black-and-white movie called Frankenweenie, but I didn't really believe him. He was right, and I discovered that there was the 1984 movie after I watched this movie in my freshman art class
I remember watching this, It was really on some creepy-type stuff, he had use science experiments, tools and also lightning in order to reanimate his deceased dog...I mean don't get me wrong, the way he died, it was hard to watch...that's something I can admit...
Popular fan theory the boy in this movie, victor from corpse bride, and jack from nightmare before Christmas are all the same person and their dog are all the same
To be fair, Victor could've blamed his father for Sparky's death, but he didn't. And Mr. Frankenstein only meant well when he persuaded Victor to try baseball in exchange for him signing the permission slip for the science fair.

As a cat owner, I hate when dogs are portrayed as the better species who can do no wring and the pet that is evil is the cat. I do enjoy this film. It is a nice story about a boy and his dog when the neighborhood doesn’t ruin it.

Oh! Sea Mokeys are real! Theiy are actually shrimp though, and look nothing like the art, I’m guessing the search meant they don’t look like that/Are monkeys.
