No question about it, it is never fair when one person has to pay say 3 times the price as his fellow traveler for the same seat. Transparency is knowing how much percentage more I am paying for a product from the base price.
Some airlines will cancle lower priced flights if the price doubles due to some demands. Yesterday i encounter such flight cancelation and postponment for more than 28 hours for one specific flight but the next 4 or 5 flight booked with higher price are proceeding.
There should be specific guidelines & transparency from companies like u mentioned. I think the good for the customers should be kept in mind while implementing such rules
Dynamic pricing is one thing but what happens when you book flight tickets early at a low price only to be informed at the last minute that the flight has been cancelled and I have the option of taking a flight at a very inconvenient time Or take a refund? By this time the flight tickets are priced much higher and so I am forced to take another flight Only to discover that the flight has not been cancelled but ticket prices have doubled. This has been my experience with Indigo not too long ago. And that too on 2 different legs of the journey.
I hate it when the lower price is listed to lure customers on a website and when you go to their checkout, they increase it in the name of dynamic pricing. Unfortunately, the lower price will always be there in other listings but in reality noone can buy on that price.
One day delay news by palki mam it's the worst day for mi so please give us daily news you are perfect for speaking soft English we your content that for 8 to 10 min with brief explanation 😍😍🤩🤩🥳🥳🥳🤗
Dynamic pricing is how free markets work. If you think the prices are too high we have to boycott it. Then market correct itself. Dynamic pricing should only be regulated for essential human needs like essential food, water, electricity etc. and where there are monopolies for the buying product/service.
Indigo flights and uber cabs are amongst the worst examples of this vicious system of pricing. In the evenings, cab fare more than doubles. Once indigo charged Rs.19000 for a return flight ticket from Chennai to Bengaluru, which is a forty minute flight time. Beyond a point, this method becomes counterproductive. People will find alternatives.
The prices of airline or concert tickets must be fixed and sale should be based on first come first serve basis. Because there is no way a customer can verify that demand has surged. But he can be sure if the tickets are sold out cause its never a false statement. People selling concert tickets in ‘black’ after buying at standard price should be treated as criminals. Being fair is always good for business and keeping morals alive in society.
Dynamic pricing hurts all consumers. The companies should price the ticket and sell it until completely sold out. No ticket selling outside venues. no bulk buying of tickets. Keep ticket sales fair to keep consumers loyalty.
Websites that use dynamic pricing should be forced to display that fact and an index showing how the pricing is being used at that moment. This needs to be displayed on the page *before* purchase. So for example, zero for a "base" price and +70 fo a 70% increase over the base price and minus 70 for a 70% discounted price. Retroactive cancelling of confirmed orders must also be addressed, as overbooking is a common practice. There has to be a penalty for companies cancelling confirmed bookings/tickets. Websites should also be banned from dynamically changing a price after someone has joined a queue so that the price should be fixed at the time of joining the queue so that when the end of the queue is reached the price has not increased due to increased demand during the wait.
Dynamic prising in injustice to those whose needs arose a little late then others. If it is a fair idea, think about applying dynamic prising to hospitals, medicines, schools, books, housing, etc.. people won't be able to obtain important services and goods especially those who are financially challenged. There will always be someone insider who will try to benefit by initial purchase of items and then trading them in black.
So markets determine the pricing; why do we then call charging higher rate for gas during disasters as price gouging? Can you charge higher for healthcare during pandemic? This nonsense of market forces should stop!
What India needs immediately in terms of regulations is regarding waste management, to reduce landfill waste load. Expecting something as great as clinical establishment act, UPI etc.
the difference is you get flight and or hotel prices when you first put your dates in. You don`t queue up for 7 hours like I did on Saturday thinking the tickets were one price only to get to the check out to find the price had got up by over 200 percent.
That’s because they want people to plan upfront and helps them prepare upfront as well If something is not expensive if you book on short notice then you wouldnt😢book early and many will be unprepared for either very very high demand or absolutely no demand😅
Dynamic pricing is a scam, because in theory, as per free market, prices are supposed to go down as well; but every business still maintains the same base price for their product that did before introducing such pricing measures, and they only go up with demand, and never go down due to lack of it.
The government should charge these corporation a dynamic tax rate, from 30-90% lets see how they like it.
If government taxes them like you said, it would became more expensive for the customers.
Yeah they will charge for that tax from us 😂
Margaret Thatcher is rolling in her grave 🤦🏽♂️
Very good idea :))
will people earn dynamically?
How will you budget for stuff?
Dynamic pricing is actually exploiting general customer whose hard earned money strategically pumped out for business tycoons benefits
This is more prevalent in airline tickets and insurance. Customize and save, biggest scam of all time.
The airlines gives you a deadline to cancel immediately
No question about it, it is never fair when one person has to pay say 3 times the price as his fellow traveler for the same seat. Transparency is knowing how much percentage more I am paying for a product from the base price.
This you can always know with the base care and surge charges
If there is MRP for products, why not for services?
Shouldn't there also be dynamic salary, unfortunately salary always remain fixed and low as compared to inflated products and services prices?
In uber uk it's a big problem govt should look into this and take action
Whether you believe or not, drivers are earning 50 -25% less what riders paid.
They complain about inflation what do you expect
Right step, regulation should be introduced round the globe
Some airlines will cancle lower priced flights if the price doubles due to some demands. Yesterday i encounter such flight cancelation and postponment for more than 28 hours for one specific flight but the next 4 or 5 flight booked with higher price are proceeding.
Dynamic pricing is a systematic way to loot the passengers.
Fixed pricing is a must....and
India must also have fixed pricing and no haggling! over the price of beans.
Is dynamic pricing being applied or tested on UK housing in some instances
Dynamic pricing is Legal ‘’BIG SCAM’’
There should be specific guidelines & transparency from companies like u mentioned. I think the good for the customers should be kept in mind while implementing such rules
It's always in place in London Railway!
Peak hour 8-11 am train tickets costs way more than noon time
Mentioned ones are only non-essential goods.. happens even with essential goods like commodities (the food we eat)

What about economies of scale ? Shouldnt it be lower pricing if the demand is high instead of briging down the demand with surge pricing.
It's economics 101 supply and demand.
I hate it when the lower price is listed to lure customers on a website and when you go to their checkout, they increase it in the name of dynamic pricing. Unfortunately, the lower price will always be there in other listings but in reality noone can buy on that price.
Aha our dear MP Shafi Parambil was talking about this only, atleast the UK govt listened. 😅
Will they increase their employees salary when work increases in daily working hours?
In BBD we will see the dynamic pricing on discounted products, eventually creeping up to regular prices and maybe even higher.

Dynamic pricing should only be regulated for essential human needs like essential food, water, electricity etc. and where there are monopolies for the buying product/service.
Dynamic pricing should be adapted for basic services like water - electricity etc

Dynamic pricing makes services available even during high demand.

That's funny that they've come up with a term that puts lipstick on price gouging because that's really what it is,... price gouging.
Dynamic pricing hurts all consumers. The companies should price the ticket and sell it until completely sold out. No ticket selling outside venues. no bulk buying of tickets. Keep ticket sales fair to keep consumers loyalty.
Indian railways should adapt dynamic pricing

Always do

Dynamic pricing is only valid in the right economic context.
What India needs immediately in terms of regulations is regarding waste management, to reduce landfill waste load. Expecting something as great as clinical establishment act, UPI etc.
Flight tickets and hotels too or everything
the difference is you get flight and or hotel prices when you first put your dates in. You don`t queue up for 7 hours like I did on Saturday thinking the tickets were one price only to get to the check out to find the price had got up by over 200 percent.
I recently paid 95k for a flight for the UK so tell me about Dynamic pricing 😂😂😂

Dynamically priced burgers 😂😂. . Really?
The right term is " predatory pricing"
