    • Building Bunker Villa ...
    Then and Now - 12 years later! Zero water issues - zero moisture and same as it was when finished, which is quite rare for Undergrounds in the Pacific Northwest that rains constantly from November till May/June.
    This Quonset Hut Underground was built around 2011.
    In this video, we revisit the site for the first time since 2011 and share an in-depth tour of how it was built, reasoning for certain building techniques and address a few questions people have asked over the past few months. If you have any additional questions, leave a comment or send us an email!

    I would make a fake wall about 12' in with benches along the wall. If someone breaks in, they would just think it's an old storm shelter. I love the build; you have everything needed.

      Good idea, there are dozens of ideas and ways to conceal an underground much better. This property is extremely secluded and wasn't the customers priority. Thank you for sharing your thoughts !

    This is pretty cool. My Grandpa was a WW2 Navy vet, and he built his house like this in southern Utah. Except the front of the house was just like a normal small house with the big underground section covered with grass in the back yard. He passed away when I was around 15, I remember he always had ham hocks and beans with corn bread ready to go when I would go stay the weekend with him. He had 2 coffin style freezers in the underground section. One was packed with meat and the other was packed with gallon buckets of vanilla ice cream. He would serve me peach cobbler with warm milk poured on it in a bowl. Which to this day I have never met anyone who eats peach cobbler with warm milk like its cereal lol. Wish I would have spent more time with him to learn more. He was a very resourceful intelligent man. Not sure why he felt the need to build the underground shelter part. It may have been left over fear from the war or perhaps fear of nuclear war with the Russians or maybe it was because of all the nuke testing the government was doing in the desert.

      @@Veldtian1 Its ironic that the "greatest" generation was the worse at the only thing any generation cant fail. That is, to raise at least a mediocre one to substitute them. They fucked everything so deep, people will be cleaning after them for the at least the next six generations to come.

    It's my dream to build a nice bunker that doesn't seem Closter phobic like most and this one is the best I've seen yet. I daydream of being able to keep my loved ones safe when something bad happens, unfortunately I don't see myself having the means in the near future, but if I ever do I will build something just like this, so thank you so much for sharing. This build is awesome and absolutely inspirational.

    Very nice Bunker ! But i would recommend 2.5 things . 1. The wood ceiling inside the bathroom, we have it too , factory impragnated wood and its molding as soon as the shower is used regulary! (i hope you never have too) 2. The metal door starts to surface rust, it may not impact the functionality but your entrance starts to get some sort of "deserted" look ..i did not pay attention if you have always someone in genral vicinity to "guard" it...but the more deserted it looks the more looters or over curious people will try to forcefully enter ! i would paint the door and visible concrete in a camouflage pattern , plant some conifer-like trees infront and with not so deep penetrating roots also on top in a irregular pattern to hide possible detection from air ! and 2.5 dust of some of the interior if u have to move in than to survice and not to clean ;)

    Would be very energy efficient, effective against tornados and hurricanes! I love the concept, but personally i don't trust would supports. I would use steel them do a wood wrap. I would also add another outer door and use it as a mud room, security stop. Plus a another posted, a concrete barrier directly in front with 90 degree exits. Just my 2 cents, but very good job. Question, you said you had a process for the spray foam and how thick was your shot crete?

    I think i'd put the food inside where you can lock it up better, and when your coming in after walking through the aftermath of who knows what you might want to wash and change your clothes, if you had any radiation you, take your cloths off to wash them separately from your normal inside cloths, and you just wash off in the shower don't scrub!!! You'll scrub the radiation into your skin, have outside clothes only or a suit that you can take off then wash. just saying. Have fun with the information, also if a EMP hits don't turn your backup systems until two or more weeks later they're other EMP coming, FYI. :) Cool place though! :)

    Remember in winter time if you're running a wood stove that smoke can be seen for miles and miles and miles away therefore it's like a gigantic GPS Google Maps Arrow pointed right to your house. Same goes for those gas and diesel generators that everybody loves to have for power outages. If I'm hungry and my kids and grandkids are crying about being hungry and scared and I hear one of those going and we didn't prepare for the end of days which is literally any day now guess where I'm going to get food and supplies and I will have to do whatever I have to do. I'm not saying that that is what I would do because I'm actually prepared for what's coming but I'm telling you the mental process the mental thought and the reasoning behind how good people will turn to bad bad people and do really bad things when the shit hits the fan. So is badass is all that looks and trust me it looks amazing you did a fantastic job but when the shit hits the fan if they can hear your generators or see your smoke you're not hitting at all and all you did was gather up supplies and a nice good Fort for someone else to defend after they come and take it from you. I hope you're making the preparations to cover that up camouflage it and not giving out the coordinates to where that's located

      The music itself is great but should only be playing when there is no dialogue and giving a visual overview.
      It would seem you you could go back and edit the original video by removing the music track and reposting.
      Bottom line, I would rather hear your voice than the music. Hope you take this as a compliment. 😉

    Quonset huts were never intended for underground usage and are absolutely not rated for it. It won't pass a county inspection. I assume either reinforced concrete ir spray in foam or aerocrete over steel Quonset hut. Concrete will shrink away from any form its put on and this will allow for water seepage. I assume you fill any shrink induced vouds?

      @ForbiddTV 10 місяців тому +2

      The quonset steel isn't structural at all once the concrete is applied, it merely serves as a form. It could all rust away (not likely for hundreds of years) and the structure would not be compromised in the least.

      Those wooden beams have zero structure support and happened while screwing into the wood. Wood cracks overtime as well, total non issue.
