No description or explanation? What are the materials called? I need to know how to ask for them at the hardware store...

I'm a little late to the game, but..YES! Sheer genius! What you will need: Half inch PVC pipe Cut to size, Less Roughly an inch. (A big box Store Will give you at least 1-3 free cuts, 5 or more if you flirt)
PVC caps To fit, test them in the store. 3 C Brackets, Strong glue, A cheap shower curtain Or any fabric, Tablecloth Sheet Vinyl,
(You can Glue the caps on the ends You don't have to melt them)
Use a knife to cut The wedge In the end cap for the string.
    Oh, and.. Common sense!😁

if there's enough tension on rope to keep from moving that's all you need .. simple

Friction and tension on that string should keep it from falling down

You’re assuming regular folks have access to rasps, pipe cutters and some of the other tools you used here. So, no, not easy. Easy is showing COMMON, easy accessible tools and materials ANYONE can get their hands on.

Go to a hardware store. You can find it there. Easiest thing to do is walk into a shop and buy the blinds if I want it that easy LOL

I’m not sure what “regular folk” you know who don’t have access to common hand tools.
