The video was made using a cellphone... the phone's recorder has some "automatic gain control" built in, so it might seem like that internal speaker and the external speaker are the same volume... let me tell you - they are not! The amp thru the 12" speaker is much louder, and sounds much more like a real combo amp.
Very good idea. Thanks for sharing. If I understand correctly, you removed the R11 resistor and than connected the two points on the print where the R11 was before. Is this correct?
Cool Video !! I did the same modification to my ms2 and using an old Bass Combo(Amp unit removed)with 8inch widerange speaker as an external cabinet . Amazing ,how loud a 1Watt Transistor amp without any booster or effect pedal can be 😌and the sound is good enough for practicing at my small living room .
Hello... Thanks for the video... I hav almost same setup but im getting buzzing noise(or tht humm sound) just the difference is i have 3.5 jack input to speaker so im using the converter... And the aux cable and the converter jack im using is not gold plated... So what could be the reason for the noise and how can i remove it...btw i did not do tht resistor modification ... Please help... Thanks
First of all, it's very loud thru a 12" speaker. Louder than you would expect. I would compare it to a regular 20W amp set on 3 or 4, or maybe even 5. Its loud enough that your wife and/or kids will be yelling "turn that DOWN!" if you do it in the house ;-)
The headphone jack is not a real headphone output.. it's merely connected to the speaker, with a resistor in place to lower the output (so you don't deafen yourself with headphones). So, for connecting this little amp to a 12" speak cabinet - I cut off the resistor, which allows the full speaker signal to go out thru the headphone jack to an external speaker.
Goes to show you guys a 100 watt single 12 inch speaker Marshall combo valve amp like the valve state 100 wat I got sounds good though it's 12 inch speaker since it's a combo amp but when I hook it up to pa speakers that are bigger and more of them or up to my marshall vintage modern full 100 watt stack I got for 700 usd when I was ten when they first came out I hook it up to the full 4x12 full stack sounds just like a stack and big beautiful sound cause it hasore speakers and pushing more air means heavier crisper and cleaner tone. That's why when you get like a peavy Windsor 30 watt class a tube amp combo it sounds very small and sharp with no base cause it's a 8 inch speaker is why it sounds like crap and only good for very low clean crispy blues leads but not for rock like acdc or guns n roses stuff like that cause it has barley any base to it and low ends like a full stack or 2 12 inch speakers or 4x12 can or full two 4*12 can full stack

yes, I shorted out the resistor with a little piece of wire.

If i do that , the amp could be use whit the normal mode or only whit the external cab ? Thanks
Can you tell how much louder it is? More less... Maybe compare to combo wattage

K SandbergFL That is exactly what I want to know. Thanks a lot :-)
why have you modded the phone jack? does the headphone output bypass the power section?

How’s the clean tone of this one?
I’m wondering how to get a clean as well
What’s the guitar
That white guitar is a cheap Tele copy... a Johnson, I think... the pickups and the cool white knobs came from GuitarFetish.com
Add pedals!!!
