- Come Go With Me: The Stax Collection: bit.ly/2V7odsu
Craft Recordings is thrilled to announce the release of a vinyl box set celebrating one of music’s greatest gospel and soul groups, The Staple Singers. Set for a February, 2020 release date, Come Go With Me: The Stax Collection presents all of the group’s studio albums released on the iconic Memphis label, spanning 1968-1974, and features the Staples’ biggest hits, including “I’ll Take You There,” “Respect Yourself” and “If You’re Ready (Come Go with Me).” The six studio albums were cut from the original analog masters by Jeff Powell at Take Out Vinyl. The final, seventh disc offers rarities, non-album singles and several live recordings from the legendary 1972 Wattstax music festival. The seven discs come in heavyweight 180-gram vinyl pressed at Memphis Record Pressing. Housed in a slipcase, the collection also includes a deluxe booklet with archival photos and new liner notes from American music specialist and curator Levon Williams (formerly of the Stax Museum and the National Museum of African American Music), and folklorist, ethnomusicologist and writer Dr. Langston Wilkins. The complete collection will also be released digitally, and the six studio albums will be available in hi-res 24-bit/192 kHz and 24-bit/96 kHz formats for the first time.
LYRICS
If you're ready come go with me
No hatred
Will be tolerated
Peace love all between the races
Love is the only transportation
To where there;s communications
If you're ready come go with me
The boat is after
The ever here to there
No wars will ever be declared
No economical exploitation
No political domination
Take your evil
Come go with me
Genocide
Get ready
Troublemaker
You better get ready now
Liars
I'm waiting on ya
Great drums, great song..... !
Sooooo Sweet ❤️🙏
One of the best songs ever recorded and written. Can listen to this all day. Ironically, this song applies more today than it did when it was released during my high school years in 1973.🙏🙏
❤❤❤.....love you
What a song....
there is a special something about this record, I don’t know what it is 🤔
But goddamit this has to be in my top 10 off all time 🎸
Stax hit the jackpot. All time classic.
Saw the Staple Singers way back in the early 90s and is still one of my favorite concerts
Just heard this in my dreams a little while ago.
This song should be played every day on all radios across america.Hameen/Berns 580-610
