Earlier this year, Above & Beyond performed some of their best-loved songs acoustically as part of a 15-piece band, across four sold out shows at London's famous Porchester Hall. The response from fans was overwhelming and led to two sold-out nights at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles in October, described by Billboard Magazine as "one of the finest and more memorable shows in EDM history."
Above & Beyond partnered with THUMP on the production and filming of the London shows to create a concert film that captures the Porchester Hall performances and the story behind the acoustic project. The songs performed at Porchester Hall also form the basis of the "Above & Beyond Acoustic" studio album, which was recorded in the spring and summer of 2013 and features a 24-piece orchestra.
One of their best loved tracks, "Sun & Moon" tells the story of a bittersweet love affair and the pain and release of a couple's break-up. The acoustic version re-imagines the now classic club track with a swelling orchestral arrangement and vocals from Alex Vargas.

I like this version so much more than the EDM one, I'm not gonna lie.
I think Sun & Moon is one of the more average EDM songs that Above & Beyond have come up with so I quite agree. Unlike most of their music, the EDM version is quite generic. This is stunning though. This acoustic version really showcases the vocal performance too, which is lost on the EDM original.

Although. The saying "it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all", is subjective. Sometimes where the grass is greener, there is a lot more pain and heartache than you even imagined. Enough to wish you had never fallen in the first place.
I don't get why people are shitting on the original version, it's legendary and you can't really compare this version to a trance song. It's like comparing classical music with death metal. Both have their audiences. I mean this is epic and beautiful but no need to compare or choose, I love them both.

Of course there is no need to compare. Both of them come with a different touch classical and house music.it all depends on your mood to which you'd like to listen at that particular moment.
You cannot not compare. It’s how our brain categorizes, stores and experiences information. You cannot not have a preference, not if you are capable of being honest with yourself. The good news is that the acoustic and trance versions are different enough to both be thoroughly enjoyable. Compare away! Be human! Voice your preference, to yourself most of all.

This song has become the only song I listen to. It's sorcery. The perfect five fingers plucking the harp, the hands strumming the guitar in the exact same parallel movements. The deep eyes of the singer, I try to see through as he scans the entire Porchester hall singing with such ease. The violins in harmony. The bandmaster snapping his fingers like putting us under a spell. The lyrics, the music, composed beyond perfection. Just can't get over it. ❤️

No matter how many times I've listened, it always strikes me as beautiful and moving.
So this song was playing when me and my best friend/ex were hanging out and when he started singing it, I broke apart and began to bawl my eyes out. He is the love of my life and I'll never get over him although he already did. Forever the love of my life, but hopefully he finds the love of his life because I only wish what's best for him.
