well yes, this is awesome, but as to "no one else in the electronic music industry has ever done anything like this" - not entirely true - BT did a whole tour w/ live instruments and a band around the time emotional technology was released.
The first time I ever heard of these performers was on my first hearing of this Live Porchester Hall recording - seriously - I had NO idea what their "standard trade" was. I just loved this recording from the start and have listened to it many times since. Can you imagine my utter surprise when I learned of their origin(s) in the electronic DJ / Trance music genre? To this day I have a hard time reconciling the two, however, this does not even for a moment impune the innate and developed musicianship of these writer performers. Their flexibility and versatility proves them to possess a high level of skill. They are also just nice people. I sent an email inquiry asking if and when they might ever do another non-electronic performance such as the Porchester effort. They responded the SAME DAY and said "...we are doing one right now..." and linked me to the schedule. I have wondered how much rehearsal time was required before performing this polished gem of a show. I love Zoe, Alex, and Anne so much and each one has a unique singing gift to share. They are so good at what they do....so perfectly chosen by the gentlemen writer performers. When you see the DJ side of them spinning the platters etc. you might never guess they possess the shear musical prowess to do a show like Porchester. WOW.
In my 60 years of playing music, and listening to music of all kinds, I would consider this concert as the number one of all that i have experienced, This is a masterpiece!
As a classically trained percussionist and vocalists it so interesting to me just how different each vocalist is in their performance personalities. While Zoë and Annie were quite intimate in their performances with eyes closed, Alex has a piercing gaze with eyes wide open. It's like the ladies were inviting you into something delicately inside them with each line. Then Alex would almost scan the room looking for connections with what he was evoking. Both are quite moving but in such different ways that I was taken from an already captivated state from the beauty of their faces and tones to almost entranced. Very powerful. With my strong musical background I have found many EDM stylist to be quite shallow in their musical substance while relying too heavily on the strength inherently found in the genre. This concert is a resounding tribute to the true musicians that are bringing EDM to a new level of REAL music encapsulated in the hypnotic power of electronic rhythms. A new bar has bee set. +SixToMidnight They did SUCH A GOOD FUCKING JOB THOUGH! Most songs are just as good as the electronic versions if not, better. like Satellite/stealing time.
Each of the singers voices are absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. Wow, this concert is just a personal trip to another world where nothing else matters.....
i first saw above & beyond in 2007, and then in 2010, i had almost a long break from this genre of music for some time to explore other music genres i enjoy, but in 2017 at friends convinced me to come see them at wembley in london and it was so great, and I've also just seen them at creamfields this year in 2019, they are still incredible and still pushing the envelope for their genre of music!.. my next hope is to see them in acoustic form like this concert, long live A&B :)
Agreed. I've been listening to this time and time again since it first came out. A&B Acoustic will become timeless. It's simply a masterpiece, worthy to endure the passage of time forever.
Crystal Lunt I know!! Her voice is so unique in a way! I just simply can’t help but love hearing her sing. (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Yet, that doesn’t mean that the other singers suck, they’re all amazing to the core of their little musical souls. ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪
You should check out the Hollywood Bowl version of this show. Better singers and electric energy from the audience and band. These Europeans have dead souls. 🙂
I’m 64 and I’ve always been passionate about music. In a life filled with musical highlights, this show is the best I’ve ever seen. Anyone seriously interested in music should watch this show. During ‘Good for me’, I couldn’t contain my emotions any longer and started crying. Thank you Tony, Jono and Paavo. You’ve given us a masterpiece, a treasure to enjoy over and over again.
I'm 29 going on 30 and I know this is the best thing I've ever seen. Musicians as well. I think I've listened to this album 10 times in the last 24 hours. A truly hidden gem
This video is the definition of music and art period. Congratulations ! The only comment I can give is, the video lacks interviews with the singers. They really shine and imho they deserve to express themselves about this project and performance.
Salto City actually, its not. Itsless a live recording, but a reproduction of a live recording thats been been edited. It has a high production quality. One of the best documentaries I've seen. And I agree, the music is amazing, the songwriting phenomenal, but the vocalists are unique and apart of Above and Beyond, IMO, it would have been great to see them included.

I knew Above and Beyond as a trance DJ's and now after some years I wanted to see what music they are now making and I cannot believe what I see in my eyes! It doesn't even close to trance or DJ's, but I really enjoyed this
no, they are just firstly musicians before they are DJs, they are exceptional song writers because they have a solid understanding of music from classical backgrounds and so forth. They made it big producing trance music. They are putting on a concert to demonstrate their musical roots.
ScottBOnline Oh, now I understand that. looks like I don't know so much about Above & Beyond, But I really like their music, especially trance ones. My favorite is "Can't Sleep" which I've heard first on "Gatecrasher Forever" album in 2007. Since then I discovered their other music and I've been listening to it till 2011.

This really opens up pandora's box on the fact that electronic music is such a powerful movement of the future of music. I often hear many people say that DJs and electronic artists are just pushing buttons and the technology does all the work for them. I have been listening to A & B for almost 10 years now and to hear this recreation of their music was almost like hearing all of it for the first time again. I always knew there was something within Jono, Tony, and Paavo that separated them from many other artists out there. This recreation of the last 10 years that I have been listening to them really hit home for me. I traveled back in time and revisited my life in a different way from each song. Many of these songs were and still are so powerful and I am just amazed at how well this acoustic performance turned out. The vocals were outstanding, the score was impeccable, and I am at a loss for words for the way each song transitioned from electronic to real live instruments almost like it was created like this first. Thank you Above and Beyond, you have inspired me in so many different ways and to take the time and effort to create this speaks clearly that music is not just about the sound but the feeling that goes with it. Good luck to you and never stop doing what you were put on this earth to do.
Josh Liddell thank you so much, you’ve expressed what I feel with A&B’s music, but that I can’t say cause my English isn’t enough good to say it!! In the same way I feel like I was living again different stages of my life where A&B accompanied me with their music.
I think Above & Beyond and trance are one of those small pockets of electronic music that hit on a deeper level than most "bangers" etc. A&B Also have incredibly strong and intelligent lyrics
My brother got my mum to listen to this song the sun and moon to me she fell in love with it .. unfortunately she got diagnosed with cancer and and sadly passed away in feb 2019 and This is the song she was laid to rest in .so it's real emotional every time I hear it x
Happy or sad, found or lost, seen or unseen, heard or unheard, this acoustic set will move your soul to a place that it hasn't been in a very, very long time...
What should I say? I'm nearly 65 now, listening to music since the 60th. There is a lot of music which is emotionaly driven, but this music drives the emotions. Magic, sometimes listening with tears in my eyes ...
How has it taken me 8 years to discover this? What a beautiful gig. Such brilliant performances from all. I actually found it very moving. Zoe Johnson is just such a great vocalist too. Wonderful show.
Somewhere buried in the 5k comments here I placed a comment of my own however many years ago now. There may be 2 or 3, I just don't recall but this makes either 2, 3, 4 or less likely 5 from me. I love A & B! It's hard to believe that I've been listening to these guys for damn near 25 years now. Those years went so fast. Too fast in fact. What I love so much about this particular style of their music is that it's totally what I would analogize with "family friendly", "G rated " or even "suitable for all audiences". Not that the dance mixes aren't, it's just much simpler to enjoy these when with family and around mixed crowds. Were it the dance mixes that we are so accustomed to, it might look funny to people as we restrain ourselves from just breaking out in dance wherever we are. That's not to say that when alone in the car or home I'm not blasting Tri-State, Sirens of the Sea or any of the rest because believe it, I surely am. I also think that it's comical in this sense: it's like they had to slow it all down because we're just simply getting old. As well, to know that the audience seen here is all the same people we once were in clubs with - that's priceless! I guarantee there is no way that we could have envisioned these mixes 25 years ago. But now that we're all old and starting to come apart at the seams from one or two too many hard nights in nightclubs, at raves, this party, that party, after hours, whatever. Those were the days for sure. Love these guys and I will be here to comment again in the future. ❤❤

+SixToMidnight They did SUCH A GOOD FUCKING JOB THOUGH! Most songs are just as good as the electronic versions if not, better. like Satellite/stealing time.
i watched the whole movie and i gotta say i have so much respect for all these people.

Who went back in time to the pan am exposition but brought this concert with them because they still listen to it, like me? ^_^
Annie and Zoe voice like an Angel.. and Alex voice is Spiritual!
Alex Alone tonight was the show of the Night
Again in 2021, sound of the new year.
Timeless.
Trance around the world w/above & beyond!
they sold their soul
My first comment was 9 years ago when I was doing my BSc. now, 9 years later in 2024 I'm listening to this again whilst doing my MBA assignment 😊
1.. recently see it in recommendations
2.. OK, i'll spent a couple minutes for this.
3.. after 1:20h ... OMG it was so beautiful.
Each of the singers voices are absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. Wow, this concert is just a personal trip to another world where nothing else matters.....
My respect for Above & Beyond just doubled. And I love it when Tony speaks, he sounds like Jim Morrisson. Poetic.
Who is here again in 2019 wondering just how amazing Above & Beyond has been and that they are still here today creating such great music.
i first saw above & beyond in 2007, and then in 2010, i had almost a long break from this genre of music for some time to explore other music genres i enjoy, but in 2017 at friends convinced me to come see them at wembley in london and it was so great, and I've also just seen them at creamfields this year in 2019, they are still incredible and still pushing the envelope for their genre of music!.. my next hope is to see them in acoustic form like this concert, long live A&B :)
Agreed. I've been listening to this time and time again since it first came out. A&B Acoustic will become timeless. It's simply a masterpiece, worthy to endure the passage of time forever.
@@structuredthemes Right on.
I'm here for this sentiment
Here again...always.
How am I just seeing this in 2023! That was amazing...so relaxing but invigorating at the same time!
2020 for me
This made my life worth living a little bit more.
Zoe Johnston has such a hauntingly beautiful voice. I get goosebumps all over my skin when I hear her sing.
She truly is legendary female vocalist in Trance. She was born to sing in AB's songs :)
Totally agree, her voice is hitting new emotional levels.
Crystal Lunt I know!! Her voice is so unique in a way! I just simply can’t help but love hearing her sing. (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Yet, that doesn’t mean that the other singers suck, they’re all amazing to the core of their little musical souls. ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪
Somebody who shares same view as me :)
She's pure bliss
This will go down as one of the finest music pieces in the history of humanity. Mankind should send this EP to space .
Still shedding tears of joy for how beautiful this is :)
I'll admit that knowing the original tracks helps :D
I don’t like Trance Music,but I Love Above & Beyond😉
This is my Sunday morning playlist. Windows open, sun shining in my living room, kids in my view, My heart swells with gratitude.
I need to moderate because I'm playing it back to back to back right now. Don't want to get tired of it!
You should check out the Hollywood Bowl version of this show. Better singers and electric energy from the audience and band. These Europeans have dead souls. 🙂
i finally found the soundtrack to my wedding, my babe aproves ♡
I know this was 3 years ago... but congratulations :) I hope it was an amazing wedding.
Always soothing to the soul while drowning in depression….❤
I’m 64 and I’ve always been passionate about music. In a life filled with musical highlights, this show is the best I’ve ever seen. Anyone seriously interested in music should watch this show. During ‘Good for me’, I couldn’t contain my emotions any longer and started crying. Thank you Tony, Jono and Paavo. You’ve given us a masterpiece, a treasure to enjoy over and over again.
gaei
Im nearly 62 and on the second Acoustic 2 warm up show I cried quite a bit too
I'm 29 going on 30 and I know this is the best thing I've ever seen. Musicians as well. I think I've listened to this album 10 times in the last 24 hours. A truly hidden gem
Satellite and Sun and Moon was above and beyond perfect. Thumbs up to all the musicians.
12:00 lol
he did his job perfectly xD
that was a seriously good addition!
special thanks to the musician in 14:04 with the broom, it really made all the difference to the ambiance of the song....
Omg satellite
Been 7 years and I still can't stop watching this
whoever funded this. THANK YOU
How did I not know about this glorious masterpiece until now???!!!
Same here brother.
'Above and Beyond' has created history for our generation. They are definitely one of the greatest artists of all time.
8 Years ago exactly today! We need more of these type of Music PLEASE!!
Thank you for this and all you do for the world.🙏
That smile on Tony's face the whole time really nails it.
I don’t usually talk about my age but I’m close to 70 and this is one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard..It’s just beautiful
March 2nd, 2022 and I am here yet again and still blown away by this performance. Truly a masterpiece.
This is incredible and I don’t know how I’ve never heard it as an A&B fan for over a decade. 2024.
The mixing and mastering is sublime.
+Joel Oliver and its live...
agree!!
live and sublime.
its Above & Beyond....would you expect anything less?
+Joel Oliver It is. But they completely destroyed it on the CD. I dont understand it. It would be a nightmare if this live version was not available.
This video is the definition of music and art period. Congratulations ! The only comment I can give is, the video lacks interviews with the singers. They really shine and imho they deserve to express themselves about this project and performance.
Totally agree. Singers need to be given more praise.
It's a concert recording.. Not a documentary.. ;-)
Salto City
actually, its not.
Nate Thomas Yeah, well, it's a concert recording with a bit of added documentary.. ;-)
I understand what your saying about the singers.....I thought the same at first, but at the same time...its above and beyonds music so I get why they are the ones who got interviewed

Just discovered this video and couldn’t believe it’s 11 years old!! Absolutely timeless magnificence. Alex Vargas - WHAT.A.VOICE!😊
And who is here in 2021...this gig never fails to amaze me, move me, and enthrall the soul in me, Alex Vargas for me hits the sweet spot, sultry, confident, mysterious, superb voice. If a gig could be perfect in every respect then this is it.
My love for Above and Beyond is too great for words. So much talent. They have blown me away once again. Just amazing, everything about this is amazing, every musician there that night, just wow.

Excelent.
Yes❤️
we'll get back to the dance floor.
From millions of songs and performances, there are so few capable to grab your heart so easily.

I get that from Annie and Zoe
You check out his song called solid ground from mohagany sessions. The shivers get deeper... 😢
Man I would love to see this live, everybody there is amazing!
I miss sensitive and deep projects like this, I never get tired of hearing them
I knew Above and Beyond as a trance DJ's and now after some years I wanted to see what music they are now making and I cannot believe what I see in my eyes!
I first saw Above and beyond live in 2007, seems like a long time ago now! :) good for me, is my favourite.
They’ve been around since 1999 where’ve you been xD
This here is proof that there's still hope in the music..... this is truly classic.

MotorsportCFD Thanks for this list
Good luck to you and never stop doing what you were put on this earth to do.
i´ve cryed over satellite... so powerful
wow!!
This concert in particular needs to be on vinyl
Alone Tonight , Bond 007 Theme , All day long , Simply Beyond the Above ♥️
Still beautiful music and i love replaying this over and over. June 2023 and still like new again ❤
i really can not remember how many times i replayed this masterpiece of a concert.. just can't get enough of it
same.. over the span of years.... and finally in just a couple of months a dream for a long time of seeing them live/acoustic is coming true.
same here man.

My brother got my mum to listen to this song the sun and moon to me she fell in love with it .. unfortunately she got diagnosed with cancer and and sadly passed away in feb 2019 and This is the song she was laid to rest in .so it's real emotional every time I hear it x
❤️Sorry to hear this!
With heartfelt condolences ❤️
10 years could be have done yesterday. Simple amazing
This concert is a masterpiece.
Its May 2024 and never gets old.
Quite possibly the most beautiful thing I’ve ever watched on UA-cam.
The vocals on this are 100% perfect.
Brad Wolf shut up!!! You think Nicki Minaj would do better lmao... that’s your style 🤮
This is beyond amazing. Loved A&B before but after watching this I see them in a whole new light. Captivatingly beautiful.
Been listening to this for almost 5yrs now! Thank you so much 🤍.
The best thing that has happened to me in the past five years is discovering ABGT.
How has it taken me 8 years to discover this? What a beautiful gig. Such brilliant performances from all. I actually found it very moving. Zoe Johnson is just such a great vocalist too. Wonderful show.
There really isnt anything like this, so amazing.
39:50 Vargas gives me the chills!!! So incredibly moving!
I Love ALL of you! Peace love and light! :) PS THUMP rocks!
