  • How to easily install a keyless entry system to Z3 or E36 3 Series:
    Read This for the exact pin numbers!
    1. Remove glove box
    www.unofficialb...
    2. Locate ZKE4 module
    www.bmwgm5.com...
    3. For powering up the keyless entry module use 2 pins from the black connector X13252
    Pin 10 - Power Supply - red/green/yellow
    Pin 15 - Ground - brown
    3. For Lock/Unlock use 2 pins from the purple (or yellow) X13253 connector
    Pin 7 - Brown / Black
    Pin 17 - White / red /yellow
    4. Lift up hazards switch and splice into 2 wires
    grey / red
    blue / brown
    Shorting those two should start the hazards
    5. Use a simple 4 pin relay:
    85 - ground (from the module you are installing for ex)
    86 - Hazards output from the module (+12v)
    30 - grey / red from the hazards switch
    87 - blue / brown from the hazards switch
    Trim and isolate all wires you are not using, and put it all back neatly and you're done.
    I advise testing each of the pins you are splicing into before connecting just to make sure you got the right ones.

    I just wanted to send you a message to say thank you very much for your help in your video, I fitted a Chinese remote entry box to my Z3 2000 6 today and followed all your instructions and it worked perfectly all the lights too, and hazard, the way you described and explained second to none thanks again Peter in uk.

    I have a Z3 1998 and it has the alarm wire harness behind the glove box, so the connection is much easier. I wonder if you missed that.

    If your keyless entry stops working or is partially working, it is because the door close microswitch is broke. I unhooked it and it started working again.

    Did you put that fuse on the (12v) brown wire or did it come like that in the keyless entry kit? If you did add it on, what amp is it?

    • @trufinv
      @trufinv  2 роки тому

      The keyless entry kit had the inline fuse. Not sure of the amperage.

    Thank you ,Very clear explanation video. But I have more question ,Cause of my key-less entry system have an open trunk button. Do you know which pin of central lock control module are control a trunk trigger?

    • @trufinv
      @trufinv  5 років тому

      As z3 trunk does not lift automatically (no spring) trunk trigger would not make much sense. That would only leave the trunk unlocked after you re done.

      @@trufinv Yes, I known it won't pop-up when open a trunk. But I want to using an open trunk button.
      I seen an attach file that you have sent (8 months ago) ,
      So I must connect my key-less entry system "trunk release (+)" to connector "X13253" on pin "3" right?

    It’s pin 4 Blue/Red with a yellow stripe
    And pin 17 White/Red with a yellow stripe
    Did this today in my Z3

      @@trufinv my instructions say to connect the flasher signal (alarm brown) directly to the cars blue/brown wire on the hazard switch. would this not have the same effect without the extra wires and relay?

      @@Ghost129er At that time I looked it up online, but I always use a multimeter to make sure I have the proper ones. When I was young I installed car central locking systems and alarms at some point and never had any pinouts or schematichs, just a multimeter did the job.

    Dog you know how to connect the cable for rising the Windows when you press the lock button?

    • @trufinv
      @trufinv  6 років тому

      I am not sure as my keyless acces cannot easily be used to do that. It should either maintain the relay open/closed while keeping the button on the remote or provide a channel with a big enough timer in order to do so. It can be adapted but I didn't bother. Perhaps you could use the pinouts bellow:
