  • "I cannot believe the care and the kindness, and the humanity, of them responding to this lump."
Professor Michael Rosen couldn't bring himself to read his patient diary, updated daily by nurses during the 48 days he spent in intensive care after contracting COVID-19, until he sat down to record the audio of his book 'Many different kinds of love: A story of life, death and the NHS' 18 months later.
In this clip, he describes the humanity he discovered in his patient diary when he finally came to read it.
Professor Rosen was interviewed by Dr Rachel Clarke, palliative care doctor, before a live audience at the Royal Society of Medicine.
