The woods and the brooks look wonderful! My mom used a wood cookstove for a while when we were toddlers. I remember her cooking with the heavy carbon steel lid off for boiling and frying and then leaving it on for simmering. I got to witness wood stove fire starting and management from an early age. We used heavier pans and blue steel pans. They were scrubbed out with flannel and coarse salt to remove the stuck-on carbon. Camp cookware just does not 'cut it' for me. However, with the sugar in bacon and ham cures, carbon is going to stick unless I use a good-grade nonstick pan.
It is wonderful that were blessed with those memories of a "simpler" time filled with hard work and dedication. I've really enjoyed every aspect of this camp set up. Headed out again next weekend. It's suppose to rain throughout this week and weekend, so I'll get to see how waterproof the tent is. I'll try to come up with something more interesting to cook!
Thats great you get to go out still. It may not be the secret hot spot but, GOD IS GOOD! your still blessed to go out. Great video and pray for me also, brother. I am a brother veteran ( submarine force '87-'91) . I am on disability now so cant go out like i used too. Things are kinda rough for the wife and I now, so keep me in prayer please
@@boonedockery7220 ty my friend! I pray for out country also. We are told in scripture to " Be slow to anger" its not easy for any of us. Especially those of us who swore to uphold and defend the constitution. But, I have hope.
glad to here the stove is working out one just hit my doorstep. I have the Onewind penumbra hammock hot tent and same problems with a folding backpacking stove it was way to inefficient and couldn't keep up in such a large shelter. The cs6 should do the trick. New sub here 👍
Greetings- Im getting some ideas of making a homemade stove like this. I like that front vent on it and folding legs. The tent would make a perfect little CP- put you an old field desk in there for your counseling statements. Good job on the ACU's dying- they look way better than they did. Troops can report in at the CP before heading to guard duty-
Hello Brother John. That's a fine camp you have there. Looks like something I would enjoy emulating. And tacos too. I will be looking forward to your coming hot tent cooking videos. A question, are you able to go to your secret fun spot any longer? You mentioned the need to be close to home that's why I asked. You are in my prayers. Blessings, David.
Bother David, I'm glad you like it! I'm loving it so far! "IF" I could find someone to be "on call" for me, I could get back to the secret fun spot. There is no cell service for me there and it's a 35 minute drive then a 4 mile hike to get there. So, at the moment the SFS, is going to have to be put on the back burner. My household dynamic is extremely complicated. Many aspects of it could make a good Jerry Springer show episode. I am able to make it all work the best I can through the Grace of God. I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me! I have faith that things will improve and I will be able to have more freedom to go further and do more. Thank you for your concern and support. Blessing to you and yours, John
Nope, just for car camping as I stated.... it is nice to have the option for when I cant get out or if I have people with me who cannot do the long hikes into the forest.

An excellent show and tell and it's about time you did a nice long video, I did enjoy that. God bless
Thank you kindly!
Looks like a comfy setup. Looking forward to your next video.
It was!
To regulate your cooking temperature
Set a small trivet on top of your stove
When
Your pan gets too hot, put it on the trivet.
Excellent Tip! Thank You!

Hey Boonie, great to see you pal. Hope everything is going well for you and your family 🙏
Thank You! For the most part, things are going well. I still believe I'm Blessed and Highly Favored! Staying Strong and Vigilant! You Do the Same!
When cooking on my woodstove I use a small pot with water and I poach my eggs, asker than frying and I prefer poached eggs.😊
Oooooo I like Poached eggs as well!

@@boonedockery7220 I LIKE your Jeep Camping idea. You get to show us more equipment and techniques this way.

Thanks for the tips!
How many people could you fit in that tent comfortably?
Try Valentina hot sauce instead. Yellow label, not black.
If I happen to see a bottle at the store, I Will!
You have an awesome wife…
I Agree! Not just because she reads all my comments either!!!! Hahahahaaaaa!!!!! She is an Amazing Woman!
clear them leafs out of the tent bud. ya givin off fire satrer
It doesn't actually get too warm under the stove, but I could've swept them out from under a little better.
Buy you a good non-stick skillet
We actually don't use any nonstick, prefer stainless and cast iron for cooking for many reasons.
