Frankly speaking i am with ranjit Last 4 years.. and TBH i rarely see that kind of excitement on Ranjit's Face for a Product.. Even when smartphone are getting boring, we can see that much of satisfaction happiness with Moto Edge 30 Pro on his face.... Honestly this is very rare and it means this time moto clearly Nailed it..Kudos to Moto Team ..

Great review, it's good to see Motorola push out a phone of this caliber. I do however hope they fix the video quality from the main camera it's awful. I also wished they had put a plastic back on this phone. I really don't understand why people complain about plastic phones when it would be cheaper for the manufacturers and consumers also most people will slap a case on the phone anyway. Not to mention the fragility of glass. Lastly, Motorola has to do better with OS updates even if they promise 3yrs it will take them 5yrs to push them out. Still it's probably a better buy than a pixel at this point.

My only concern is the lack of updates ever since Lenovo took Motorola over. I am not convinced about their capabilities in terms of delivering updates. If updates is NOT your criteria then yes, go for it, it is as good as Google Pixel type stock Android experience.
Bro i am using moto edge 20 fusion....i am getting perfect update....but android 12 is not yet get....but overall security update is good ....

You are absolutely right regarding the 1080p video quality. Not only edge 30 pro, I have seen many midrange Motorola smartphones also. Same problem is persisting in all the motorola devices. I think they are wantedly crippling it. It will be even better if they wont do it to the 1080p video quality.
In short I can say that this device if super good but it needs software update to fix some of the issues like HDR for still photographs, poor 1080p video recording, etc can easily be fixed with an update. But the thing that I hate about this device is that it has omitted the 3.5mm Headphone Jack which I never expected from Motorola.
GG3 is actually more scratch resistant than GG5. While GG5 is more shatter resistant.
So as front panel is more prone to scratch than the back, motorola went with GG3 on the front and GG5 on the back.
I don't know, just my guess that's all.

Yeah.. Even i have noticed that.. I dont use glass protection on my phones and gg5 develops a scratch like pattern on the screen where i scroll.. This didn't happen in gg3
Gg3 is simply cost cutting plus adding a 10 bit panel beneath it. It's always recommended to use a glass protector because gg3 can't even deal with one drop test. Might wanna tread carefully as screen replacement would be costly given it's a 50000 rs phone.

Sir glass gorilla 3 is more scratch resistance than 5 , and 5 is more drop resistance than 3. Maybe that's why they combined like this.

Motorola has surprisingly succeeded where Iqoo 9 series failed. I though Iqoo 9 Pro would be the affordable flagship of 2022 but nope it is Motorola Edge 30 Pro. Some much needed competition has finally started in affordable flagship segment finally after the exit of OnePlus and Poco. Let's hope this phone puts some pricing pressure on Xiaomi when they launch their 12 series later.
exactly, last few launches from Motorola have wonderful balancing of features. And the icing on the cake is STOCK ANDROID. Nokia was the only player left with Stock UI after Google stopped launching their phones. In that sense, Motorala is a more relaiable brand and offers the most seamless STOCK UI experience. Even its budget category with phone like Moto g31 and Moto g51 offer great value. And they have managed cost cutting very well. Even Xiaomi has switched to smaller screens in budget segment with the tablet market growing and input costs rising.
I find IQOO's decision to use funtouchOS was bad. I rather like to see a near stock Android on them like Motorola. Otherwise the phone has a great value for money.

None of the reviewer talk about mobile network reception and connectivity and call quality except Ranjit. It is most important criteria in cell phones to have good reception and call quality.

Regarding Android updates. Samsung has nailed it..! 4 major Android updates & 5 years security update in S22 series (its even better than pixels). Also taking their recent track record of delivering updates is very good. So hands down samsung has the best updates situation in Android...!
60-70k phone better have something more to offer other than camera. Samsung still lags behind in fast charging than pretty much everyone and UI isn't as clean as Moto

Motorola seriously needs to work on the 1080p camera. This is prevalent throughout all the lineups irrespective of the price (Edge, Fusion, G).

I'd recommend Ranjit to provide timestamp, so people can watch specific feature they're looking too, especially when video is long.
I have a doubt ranjit, does it have ltpo screen (variable refresh rate) and in auto mode does it settle with 120hz??
No LTPO screen on this one, but it has a smart mode where it sees the contents and scales down to 60hz and ramps upto to 144hz based on what's happening. The default is actual set to that Smart mode but I was using it forced on 144hz while using this phone.

Actually I've read it somewhere that Motorola denied to include Netflix as system app, which was why it doesn't have HDR support. Could be true, maybe not

Hello Ranjit, I was just planning to buy one plus 9rt, was waiting for this launch and yes literally satisfied with your review. Major difference I see for my usage is the Flagship processor ( not to sure to decide with 888), selfie camera, Aluminium frame, 10 bit (hope 8bit is okay for me) rest all Iam not bothered. Since iam not much into games or other things. Please suggest

Moto has better software, smoothest Android experience due to 144 hz display & also has better connectivity due to 5G, Mimo, USB 3.1, wifie 6e etc. SD 8G1 is obviously better investment than more than 1 yr old 888 as latest processor brings latest technology which enhances overall performance. It's selfie camera is better than oneplus except in dark areas.

Motorola doing great with software and pricing in Indian market. But they still have to work alot on their camera performance ( image processing)
True. The ppi for Moto Z play was 402 and now it's only 395 ppi even for edge pro. With a 108 or 200 MP cam the ppi could atleast be little close to 500.

The only deal-breaker for me, in this smartphone, will be the 128 GB storage. If Motorola was giving no SD card slot in this smartphone, then they should've gone with 256 GB as storage. Because nowadays, it's a minimum requirement.
Minimum requirement for you perhaps, but nowadays internet is cheap and almost everything is stored in cloud, movies are streamed online and big storage is pretty much usless especially if it increases the price by 3-4k. Better get an OTG and pen drive/external hard drive.
Its a deal breaker, sd card slot is basic requirement how can they miss it? No other android flagship would skip on sd card.

I m facing sound delay issue with Motorola Edge30 pro and Boat Airdopes 281 if any one facing pls confirm or pls suggest how can i reslove this problem
So basically In short it is a good phone which nails the basics of a smartphone which actually matters like good call quality and network reception, good display, good camera not exceptional like samsung but overall a good camera , good battery life again not 2 day or something but good battery life with fast charging, great software although moto needs to improve the update cycle, great performance and classic and functional design . Yes there r some nitpickig cons i agree but just realise that at that price nobody is providing a 8 gen 1 and also the compromises aren't deal breaking. Sure if u want exceptional camera go for Samsung or iphone no doubt. But if people are thinking a side mounted fast reliable fingerprint scanner instead of a indisplay one and a plastic frame despite having solid design or the darker blue colour is deal breakers then i don't know how much bullshit u can spout. Yeah the storage concern i can agree some people do need higher storage. But overall I think moto has nailed his Phone and if u r a true and practical person who actually uses the phone for its practical usage and are not a biased idiot then u will also appreciate it.

So true. I think it makes sense not to give higher RAM & Storage variant as it will increase the price by 5K and practically even 6 GB RAM is sufficient for next 1/2 years and with cheap & fast internet no one downloads stuff anymore most of the important things are on cloud. By increasing price by 5k for such negligible thing it would have been seen as a competitor for 55K market (S21 FE, iqoo 9 pro) instead they nailed Oneplus 9RT & iqoo 9. There is also option for RAM boost.

Well I use the Moto Edge 20 and the peak brightness on this display as well is 700 nits but me along w my friends were surprised to see my phone being slightly brighter than my friend's OnePlus 9R in noon daylight whose peak brightness is 1100 nits. It was v weird and surprising but yeah, display brightness is not at all an issue, tho weirdly enough the stats of peak brightness seem to be low.

Well i am planning to buy this phone. The only 2nd thought is that its the 128 GB variant. And i want the 256 GB variant. These days apps , files and images are much bigger in size.

Lenovo Legion is designed,manufactured by Motorola. Check any unboxing video of those. I own a Lenovo Z6 Pro, it is completely by Motorola and software UI is ZUi (which is now merged with MyUi of Motorola China roms )

The sad thing is inspite of Motorola trying so hard and pushing a pretty good phone, in reality people are just going to praise it but when it comes to buying it they will simply go for the alternatives 🤕 this is what happened with the Asus 6z - great phone and had its own advantages but still people got the k20 pro and oneplus 7 and eventually asus lost interest in the market.. 😐
Nope k20 and op7 times were peak performance period for both Xiaomi and OnePlus and asus services sucks at india which is major reason why people don't prefer them
Lol! K20 pro was one of the best value flagships of its time. For 27K you could get a phone with SD 855 and 6GB of RAM with a screen which had no notches or cut-outs. the best part about Xiaomi phones is that you can unlock the bootloader and install custom ROMs. I'm running A12 on my K20 pro with GCam, and it is still performing well with 6-7 hours of SOT. Asus 6z had nothing on K20 Pro.

@@Sivakumarmj Lol. I have 6z as well. There is no active Custom ROM support for this device. My 6z is still stuck on Android 10 while my K20 Pro is running A12 with June Security patch. On top of it Asus doesn't even have half of service centers and support that Xiaomi has. You can be a fan of a brand but don't become a blind fanboy.
This is the issue with Android phones. They just cannot make a complete package.
One plus & Moto have stock based software but they fail at cameras.
Samsung is great at making cameras but they don't have stock based softwere
Buying an iPhone 12 at similar price and you get everything in one package. Sure it doesn't have 120Hz but they provide 5-6 years updates
12 has a poor battery life, but similar to these android ones. 13 has much better battery.

Asus Rog phone 5s is a pretty good phone but if you can wait for sales like Big billion day or Diwali time then you will get a better deal
Moto edge 30 pro doesn't have 256 GB variant nor Micro SD support. Iqoo 9 has 256 GB variant. Camera is obviously better in iqoo 9 and it also has a telephoto lens.
Moto has a bigger battery but iqoo 9 has faster charging. Moto has the latest processor but there wouldn't be any difference unless you are a heavy gamer. And speaking about looks it's subjective but iqoo 9 has a metal frame where as moto has a plastic one.
And talking about UI moto definitely gets the edge with pixel like UI.
So it just depends on ur preferences
