- Motorola Edge 50 Fusion Unboxing & Initial Impressions including camera samples this is new mid-range smartphone it has IP68 rating, has dual Dolby Atmos Stereo speakers comes with 6.67" POLED 144Hz screen has a 50MP Sony LYT 700 main camera and a 13MP Ultrawide and comes with 32MP front camera all of which can also shoot video in 4K and is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor it is powered by a 5000 mAh battery and comes with 68W fast charger.

@@gajanan4850 Moto Edge 30 Fusion hasn't received os upgrade to 14 either since 1.5 years. But current state of the phone is still great. They seem to cut down in price from 40k to 23k within a year and a half with similar performance (Edge30 fusion vs Edge50 fusion)
This is basically a higher version of Moto Edge 40 Neo.

All those who are talking about the slow updates, I have been using Moto X4 for the past 7 years, its on android 9. For regular use like social media, browsing and other similar apps, its still seamless. The battery life is still exceptional. And last year I bought Moto Edge 30 Ultra. I knew the camera was very poor, and it has been average, but battery life and performance was mind blowing. Even after 1 year I am still getting 7 to 8 hours of SoT. Longest I got was 12hrs. I have not updated it to A13 or A14. For me all my needs are met with A12 itself. So for people who wants pure Android and an overall good phone, go for Moto.
People don't want updates because of features only, its mostly about security patches. Android updates improve security and privacy of the device. Otherwise why would People just not keep using extremely old phones?
I have used G5 plus & G9 power & they were so good . Still have them in my drawer. They don't have any bugs in the software.

Been using motox4 for 6+ yrs now. Still fine with the camera and basic stuff but now facing some lag and battery lasting. Now I'm gonna buy this one. I loved the Moto x series. Sad they've discontinued it.

As the owner of moto edge 40 Neo I can certainly say that Motorola is doing well and definitely reach top 5 smartphone brand in India.
If it wasn't for India Motorola would be another Zombie Brands like HTC Nokia/HMD, Sharp, Sony Experia etc

Glad to see we're finally starting to get an overall complete package in a phone that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Companies specially like Motorola are headed in the right direction in this mid range segment, which is rare to see nowadays.
Motorola keeps hitting it out of the park but they really need to think about expanding outside Flipkart as dealing with flipkart's policies and customer service is a huge headache .

@@kaushikpranav7696Even exchange policies as well. Their agents come and poke with their fingernails between the screen in the name of "checking". And you try to stop them they will simply reject the exchange and you will have to pay them

The worst thing about Flipkart right now is that extra packing charge for God knows what and the open box policy... I hate that Google, nothing and Motorola have exclusive tie-ups with Flipkart
@agnibratachaudhuri2578 Yup that sucks the most honestly. Been using Moto phones since the last 8 years but can say the experience with Flipkart just seems dull and daft. Wish they'd partner with Amazon or sell it directly via thier website. But alas we're stuck with Flipkart :')
Motorola's back must hurt from carrying the budget-midrange segment on their shoulders
Can't understand Motorola's fascination with curved screens! I don't know about you but many of us like to use some kind of screen protection on our phones and it is very very difficult to get a good screen protector for curved screens. I know there are some options available online, like a tempered glass with UV glue. But simply can not trust them. It can get so much easier for us if only Motorola provides a flat screen.
People will get it just coz it gives off premium look and feel. a pre applied screen protector should be a must for these displays. Glass used on phones these days are tough but can be easily scratched.
Even it is hard to fix on the screen it's easy like normal tempered glass like clean the screen peel off the sticker and align on the screen it's not at all like that we heat gun we need to spread the glue very carefully otherwise it will stick to the port's
Many live curved screens. Curved screen gives a more unrestricted freedom feel
Somehow this is the best camera samples I have seen from a Moto camera
If Motorola keep this up i think they could beat one plus and take there spot and become top 5 smartphone brand in India.

i am using xiaomi 14 ultra and raw videos are unmatched
The chip , snapdragon 7s gen 2 is noticeably slower than 7gen3 and dimensity 7200 , which is available at this price range .
Depends on people's taste and if they have money :). I use Poco M2 Pro which is already in EOL (end of life) list. I'm ok with under 20k phones though I can afford expensive phones. I would look for next moto G8x series because I wanted a smaller display and near stock android nothing fancy a good enough one for my requirement.
some people need good quality video recording for making youtube videos and such so iPhone is required for that although you dont need 1 lac iphone as even 50k iphone will do a good job.

How is the phone like ?
@@abhinavvasan4010 it's good. No lag on daily usage. I am not a gamer but i do play occasionally asphalt and efootball on medium settings and the phone performance is good. Except gaming everything works smoothly and the camera , display, battery life and charging speed is too good.

I have been using moto g52 for 2 yrs now, for the most part it is an overall good phone but it has serious software issues/glitches ( not talking about android updates).
If you could do a detailed camera comparison with competitors, that would be great !
Mine used to have network issue. My friend who uses g72 also faces the same network issue. Sometimes network bar is shown but there is no network if you're going to call someone or using internet. You have to turn airplane mode off and on.
Also mine got green line issue after 1 year. Got repaired in local store.
@santhoshs9810 as if I'm praising apple in the first place. Just because a premium brand has an issue you can't justify the same issue being present in a midrange brand. An issue is an issue, doesn't matter how costly the phone is.

Edge 50 fusion will be a better option because it is almost stock Android and no ads. Xiaomi will become laggy over time. Since, you are from Bengaluru, you will also get proper after sale support from moto

Right now I am using a Samsung A52 5G now, but I am thinking to switch to this model of Motorola.
For people who are complaining about updates, yes I agree it is so much of delay compared to other OEMs. But just a doubt in general, what's the obsession with updates which may cripple your device? Just a decent phone, buy this one for your parents or elderly people who needs a clean experience. If you need frequent updates, stop complaining and skip Moto please!
Moto edge 40 user here….moto is best bang for buck …only cons is processor and thermal performance are are not capable of heavy gaming

Camera has done an extraordinary job for its price!
Motorola is good. I'm using moto e7 power and moto edge 30 pro. Good software and hardware experience. No ads no bloatware. No software bugs. Though the Android updates are slow, who cares about updates , as we get pure Android , no admalware, no bloatware, no OEM appstore, no popup ads, no hot apps .
From 8,000 rupees to 40,000 rupees , we get similarly good software which is great - especially in these days

This phone is a much better value compared to the Edge 50 Pro although with the Nord CE4 priced similar it's a tough choice.

For me system software update and chipset is important.. great that at 23000 you get this phone. Should work for 3 to 4 years or even more with custom ROM upgrade

Using Moto Edge 30 Ultra, apart from slow android updates, everything else is superb. Its camera is highly underrated.

The Ip68 rating is name sake.
2 months after buying the Moto edge 40 the water spill lead to the camera lens fogging. Later the screen gave issues.
Motorola customer service stated that there is a difference between waterproof and water resistant and this phone isn't waterproof.

I just have one doubt regarding motorola phones sales..These phones are sold majorly in flipkart and later after many days in reliance digital stores. Not often that we get to hear good things about a mobile phone camera these days. Would be nice if you could do another video around the performance of the camera in outdoor low light conditions, night sky, distant objects, and perhaps a 4K night time video of not-so-well-lit areas. How is the reception on this phone?... One of my friend is having big problems using 5g on his moto edge 50 pro... Alot of call drops... Atleast one a day or more... He has to switch from 5g to lte to avoid call drops...

Hi Ranjit, first of all thank you for being consistent and true to your audience. You are the first person I look upto incase I want to buy any gadget.
This time I am planning to buy myself a phone and confused in these 3 -
1. Moto Edge 50 Pro - For this one I heard that there are lags while image clicking and processing along with heating issue and gitters here and there.
2. Nothing Phone 2a - For this one I heard that there are some mobile network connectivity issues.
3. Oneplus Nord CE4 - For this one I didn't like the design that much and these days Oneplus phones are getting green line (Recently my 9R got one)
My priorities are good ui and camera, no heating and lagging issue in daily usage and no lag while clicking images and their processing.
If you could respond.

Yeah that's a more powerful smartphone and also camera performance specially in night would be better with that, it also has wireless charging, this Fusion model sits below the Edge 50 Pro.

I've been using motorola edge 20 pro since 2021, loved that phone for its performace and a clean UI, but the camera was not good.
I've switched to the S23 Ultra in feb this year. The S23 Ultra is an excellent phone and has made my life a bit easier on the go with the S-pen (mostly for signing documents) excellent performance, excellent camera, excellent and timely software updates but i miss the clean stock UI of motorola.
If motorola can improve on the camera and the picture quality and if somehow miraculously their camera image processing comes to 80% of samsung or the iphone and price their phones as the same as they are doing now then i truly believe that motorola will dominate the market
