Thanks for showing us how to make such a pretty and useful project, you're a good teacher! As well as a craftswoman, well done. I love how great you are with your tools. I'm a great grandma and crafty myself but never learned the skills you have, so it's really interesting to watch you at work, never too old to learn. 👍😊🤗
Never really thought of it as "building a box"... But you're right! Thanks for being apart of the solution and not the problem and for the helpful links. You're a great instructor. Thanks for being you! ... Thumbs up & Subscribed
Great design and assembly. Sam. I'm assuming your name is Sam because some others have called you that. We need more women woodworkers and designers. Easy to watch and even relaxing. I'm hooked....give me more !
Double french cleat top and bottom can hang 100s of lbs. Single cleat hung my nightstands and sat on them at 225 lbs. Nice beginner tutorial. I am envious of the generations that can take advantage of these videos as i did not have anything like it to teach myself woodworking. One note i can metion is sanding is tedious but will hugely affect the overall finish. No bisual seams is the next step up. Keep up with the craft.
Hi Sam, so here I am after watching your mudroom/office area makeover video. In addition to the mudroom I’d like to get done I also want a floating entertainment unit (for living room) and lo and behold here you have it😊😊. Sure, I can buy one but most are not wood or they’re crazy expensive. Thank you!!!
love this build, great storage for extra tv controls and all other electronic clutter that overtakes viewing experience... awesome build thanks for sharing
Hey Sam, your projects always come out great. But what really impresses me is the quality of your videos. They are very nicely produced and you are well-spoken. Keep up the great work!
Love your design. It's simple, but looks great. Your narration on the videos is excellent - clear and easy to understand. Also, loved your happy dance when you realized you installed the drawer slides perfectly! : )
thanks for sharing this...i hope i have the skills like yours and the tools too... your works are amazing👏😁🥰.. your mother was right it feels like hotel😊
Nice work, those draws slides are one of those things where you open the drawer and it’s just like “ahhhhhh”. They’re so nice, and they also have that little micro adjustment feature underneath so you can fine tune the alignment, which you can’t do with standard side mount slides. I’ll have to check out the video you mentioned, I also like the video that Shaun Boyd did on installing these.
@@joshuawaddell6640 who in their right mind edits out such an important part like that, i mean, the top of the cabinet is very important to the build lol
Looks so good! I’ve done tons of DIY projects but for some reason drawers intimidate me! This makes me feel like I can do it. I will have to give this a shot over on my channel. P.S. I’m so jealous of your workshop!! Haha
Nice job young one I feel the same way about building there's really not much more satisfying then to look at a project when it is complete and say I did that
Hi, great job. I was sidetracked at 1:23 into the video when you used your push stick. Best I've seen. Any chance of getting details to make my own. Cheers.
Sam, it's such an obvious thing, but I really like how you cut a kerf when you use a chop saw then do the final cut. I'm going to do that from now on. That's a great idea and I feel foolish for never thinking of that. Second, why didn't you use dado's for the shelves for the added strength. Just curious because the pocket holes do certainly hold up well in your project so that's also a great solution. Thanks again for your projects. It's so great to see how much love you have for mom and dad. With my older daughter in college - and dad really missing her - projects like this make me smile.
Pocket holes were my go to for this because they are definitely strong enough to hold the weight of the cabinet as it floats. Also love that everything fits flush so perfectly, aesthetically! I’m so glad this video put a smile on your face! Thanks for being awesome. 💓

I LOVE that finish you used on this red oak! Your parents' whole bedroom series has been perfection!! Floating furniture for the win!!
Good morning Shara! This is a nice series too! Keep on building! Lol…. First time here and this too is a great builder!
Wow. This is fantastic. Thank you - Q: How do you attached the box to the wall studs?
i've been trying to figure out the same thing!
Never really thought of it as "building a box"... But you're right!

Thank you so much! That makes me so happy!
You're so cool. Been coming back for a while now. Sending love from New Zealand mate
You’re the coolest. Thank you!
Did you use the same size screws (1 1/4 pocket hole screws) for installing the shelf to the studs or did you use a different size?
Awesome job!
