    Thanks for showing us how to make such a pretty and useful project, you're a good teacher! As well as a craftswoman, well done. I love how great you are with your tools. I'm a great grandma and crafty myself but never learned the skills you have, so it's really interesting to watch you at work, never too old to learn. 👍😊🤗

    Never really thought of it as "building a box"... But you're right!
    Thanks for being apart of the solution and not the problem and for the helpful links.

    Double french cleat top and bottom can hang 100s of lbs. Single cleat hung my nightstands and sat on them at 225 lbs. Nice beginner tutorial. I am envious of the generations that can take advantage of these videos as i did not have anything like it to teach myself woodworking. One note i can metion is sanding is tedious but will hugely affect the overall finish. No bisual seams is the next step up. Keep up with the craft.

    Hi Sam, so here I am after watching your mudroom/office area makeover video. In addition to the mudroom I’d like to get done I also want a floating entertainment unit (for living room) and lo and behold here you have it😊😊. Sure, I can buy one but most are not wood or they’re crazy expensive. Thank you!!!

    Nice work, those draws slides are one of those things where you open the drawer and it’s just like “ahhhhhh”. They’re so nice, and they also have that little micro adjustment feature underneath so you can fine tune the alignment, which you can’t do with standard side mount slides. I’ll have to check out the video you mentioned, I also like the video that Shaun Boyd did on installing these.

    Sam, it's such an obvious thing, but I really like how you cut a kerf when you use a chop saw then do the final cut. I'm going to do that from now on. That's a great idea and I feel foolish for never thinking of that.
    Second, why didn't you use dado's for the shelves for the added strength. Just curious because the pocket holes do certainly hold up well in your project so that's also a great solution.
    Thanks again for your projects. It's so great to see how much love you have for mom and dad. With my older daughter in college - and dad really missing her - projects like this make me smile.

    • @diyhuntress
      @diyhuntress  3 роки тому +1

      Pocket holes were my go to for this because they are definitely strong enough to hold the weight of the cabinet as it floats. Also love that everything fits flush so perfectly, aesthetically! I’m so glad this video put a smile on your face! Thanks for being awesome. 💓
