- I turned a small, boring nook in my parent's newly renovated basement into a pseudo-office space by building a DIY Floating Desk with hidden storage.

I love the mistakes because no on on tv shows those. Love your solutions even more. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the process and the project!
the mistakes made me decide to give it a try 🤗😊.
Two thumbs up for thanking and recognizing your parents for supporting your love of woodworking.
They are seriously the best. 🙏🏼
Oh my word I just stumbled upon your page/website and I LOVE EVERYTHING! Thank you so much for all your hardwork/sharing!
This makes me so happy! Thank you for the love! 😍
Thank you so much for leaving the hinge mistake in the video!!!! I love when content creators show the mistakes and how they were able to overcome it! Beautiful project and I'm sure you parents are going to love the new addition!
I honestly wasn’t going to, but I knew it would be helpful to someone at some point - happy I did as well! They’re so happy with it!
A potential use for the holes from the hard-ware installation mis-adventure (I do stuff like this all the time) would be to drill holes through and use them for wires or charging cables. If not, it would be a fun project to cut custom plugs and fill the holes. Would be great practice for potential future projects, such as cutting out knot holes or defects out of wood.
Ohhh! Love that idea so much!
Truly love your projects. This one was simple yet so perfect for the space. Thank you for sharing
Thank you for all of the love!
i’m only 15 years old but i already LOVE doing projects around the house. this video was so helpful and i may get my dad and i to do it together!! i’m honestly considering becoming a house renovator when i grow up
That’s so awesome! This makes me so happy! I started working with my dad when I was 15! He taught me how to use tools then and I’ve been hooked ever since. Hope you’ll share your project with me when you guys are done! 💕
Very cool project! I love thefact that you showed the inexperience with corrections.
I prefer to call it a learning process instead of inexperience. 😉
This turned out so well! Great work! This was a really smart and creative approach to building a workspace. Inspires me to make something similar. Thanks!
Thank you! Hope you’ll share with me if you do!
super awesome project. congrats! thank you for showing it!
Love it! It looks so good in that nook of the basement.
Thank you so much!
Your “stuff-ups” and “workarounds“ are _especially_ appreciated!
Thank you for sharing both the guts and glory of the build.
Keep up your great content.
You have a new subscriber 😉👍🏼
Always going to share the process - ups and downs! Thanks for the love - happy you're here!
Great and elegant. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you for sharing such beautiful IDEAs
ANOTHER AWESOME JOB!!! WELL DONE YOUNG LADY!
Thank you so much!
That is so cool Sam. The tip to remove varnish/paint smell is to cut half a onion and place it in a small bowl with water then reduces the paint/varnish smell.
So interesting - have to try that! Thank you!
Continuing my journey from the beginning and allowing as many ads to play as my time allows. With all that said.. I love love love that your parents let you use their home for your creative passion!! And this floating desk is fantastic!! On to the next video😁
So many nice tools.... You make its look so easy...
Love the finish on the wood. Really nice job, bravo 👏
Love this! Definitely want to do this in my office!
Awesome job and thanks again for the peg board idea. I cleaned up mine this weekend.
Yayy!
Great job, and I can relate to the hinges!
Thank you! Can’t believe I messed that up... 🙈
WOW!!! Beautifully done and you explain everything so well. Very detailed and specific but yet also easy to understand and follow along.
I found your channel when I was searching for tips on how to arrange furniture in small/awkwardly shaped rooms and that led me to your apartment tour, which I watched and then commented on. I was so impressed that you took the time to respond to so many of the comments (including mine!) that I subscribed and started checking out your other videos.
I love decorating and doing diy home projects but I have to admit I've always been too intimidated to use power tools myself. I always end up passing that part of the projects to my boyfriend or even my 72 year old mother... I have to say she's a total OG with her own tool box and a collection of power tools that rival most men's. Lol
But I think I FINALLY might have the confidence to try and tackle a project myself. Particularly this one bc I've been wanting a floating desk like this one in my bedroom to use as a vanity. I'm hoping to get the supplies together and start in the next week or so! I don't have an enclosed area like the one you made yours in so I guess I can apply the same idea to a corner right? What about just coming straight out of the wall, say in the middle of the wall, without anything on either side. Is that possible? It wouldn't have much weight put on it at all. I could even hang the mirror above it instead of setting it's weight on the desk. So it would only need to hold enough weight for makeup and some hair products.
So happy you’re here and thank you for all of the love! I would love to see you tackle this build! 😍 You can totally make this in a corner or in the middle of a wall! I hope you’ll share yours when you make it - if you have any questions while you’re building feel free to reach out! You’ve got this! 💕
😍😍😍another dynamic job! Keep it up! Beautiful! Just perfect!
Thank you so much!
Good one. Mistakes always happen in any build but it’s the recovery that matters and how loooooong it takes to do it.
Yesss. Needed to make it right though!
I’m so happy I stumbled across your channel! Your work is both amazing and inspiring. I’m actually going to try building a desk like this in my room
Love how this turned out
Thank you! 😊
Wow!!! That looks great!!!
Thank you!
Aww, just started following and I’m so glad I came across your channel. Your videos are amazing
Thank you! So happy you’re here too!

Thank you! 😊
I love the face markings of that front board/door. Everything looks so gorgeous and pinterest worthy lol
Right!? I wanted to pick a board witch character, and I got one! Thank you! 😊
This came out absolutely gorgeous! I felt your frustration too when the screws went on wrong 😩 great job!
FANTASTIC! I'M SUBSCRIBED! I love how you showed your mistakes and your whole approach to diy! Thanks for this video. I'm going to give it a try.
Thank you! So stoked you’re here!

The shelving turned out great. The staining of the wood, looks great.

Thank you! I’ve seen a few people make free floating ones!
I love watching your videos. You explain everything so well and this was a great looking project...as always! 😉😍
You’re the best. 😘
This turned out great. It would be a good option for the desk area I think will be in a nook in my basement once we finish it. I'm with you on the multi-functional vibe.
Thank you! I’d love to see you tackle this!
Wow this is the best DIY I've ever watched!
What! Thank you! 💕
i think i might steal this idea for my little office area! love it!
Yess!
The project is really great! Now I have to binge watch all your other stuff.
Ahh! Thank you!
You have AWESOME parents that let you "play" in their house!! I just found you and LOVE woodworking! Thanks so much for sharing! Tmika
I’m the luckiest! So happy you’re here - thanks for the love!
That’s amazing! I wish I had a workshop like yours wow 🤩
Thank you! Love my little space. 🙏🏼
That's a great desk. Thanks for sharing the video. You are very versatile.
Thank you!
Absolutely love ❤ this,
My Mrs needs a desk for working from home and I don’t want a massive out of place piece of office furniture in my front room, this looks ideal tbh & defo the way to go, I’d only have the back wall & the right side though so I guess I’d have to go overkill on the wall mounting like you suggested in your effort here.
Awesome!😍 nice work
Very nice change of space! The desk looks great!!
Thank you!
Thankyou for your distance. شكراً لك
This is an amazing lil nook!
Thank you! So much better than the emptiness that was there before. 🙈
Just came across your youtube and I am obsessed with all your projects!!! Will be attempting a few of these thanks to your videos!

it's priceless 2 have good parents.and it's priceless what they do for their children, even if they don't have to.and i think/believe no matter if your grown up for a long time you're always still their little boy/girl.
All so true! 🙏🏼
@@diyhuntress i know.but it's also somehow cute how they care for one...

The format also fits exactly this nice corner.
Thank you! It really all worked out so well.
another amazing project :) lovely finish
Thank you so much!
I have come across a lot of wood working or hands on Channels (both male and female) and i must admit that this is one of the best i have come across. Especially the parts where you show the mistakes , i love that because now even i can relate when i mess up once in a while as long as you get to finally find the solution. Congratulations for the great work and the fact that that you are doing it from your parents' basement add even more inspiration to it because it means you can definitely start from where you are and with what you have. I am a proud subscriber even as i embark on my own builds too.
Thank you so much for all of the love! This means so much to me. I’m so happy you are here! 🙏🏼

This is what I want and need at home! I wish I had the tools and ability you have..... I have none whatsoever....
Borrow a friend and build together! That's how I start with a lot of people. Hope you get to build something cool soon!
This is great!! I hope to do videos like this!
I’d love that!
I've always wanted to create floating shelves but never knew a great way of doing it. THIS IS GENIUS!!! Thank you for the idea to create my own 5:34
So excited you love it! Thank you! 😍
This was a great tutorial. I'm going to add a recessed outlet/usb hub to mine when I do this later this month.
What! That would look awesome! I hope you’ll share!
Thanks for showing the whoopsies as well as we all have them! The other day I was making a keepsake box for my niece and mounted the latches upside down because I was in a hurry to get it done for Christmas. Needless to say, after a lot of disappointment in myself and a trip to the store to get some red oak wood filler all was okay. Keep up the great work and I am excited to see more of your awesome projects!
Always - it’s part of the process! Sounds like you figured it out and it turned out awesome! Thanks so much for the love!
@@diyhuntress Failure is the best way to learn! However, not the most fun :p

Wow!Ang galing naman ng pagkagawa ang ganda!
From one girl to another. Girl or not I guess! I am sooo impressed and proud of you. This is amazing., being a shop girl and in the garages and shops with my dad and boyfriend. Doing all kinds of building and fixing everything. I’ve just in the past year, really projected my attention towards woodworking and the tools but don’t have to much space for the big projects so this is just so nice to see. GREAT JOB and I’ve subscribed so thank you so much for giving me hope and ideas.
Thank you so much for the love! So excited for you and your woodworking journey!
Once again fantastic job.👍👍
Thank you!
