Is The CYMA M14 Trash? CYMA M14 Upgrade Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 гру 2022
- The CYMA M14 is pretty cool, but upgrading it has been a headache. Our initial upgrades (tight bore barrel and mosfet) proved very effective in increasing the gun's performance. However, a new piston head and air nozzle actually regressed the gun in performance. Unfortunately we have not returned to upgrading the gun since and so this review is a little incomplete. Someone asked me to make this several months ago, so here you are.

I've had a CYMA M14 for quite a while now, mostly as a DMR. 440FPS, SHS air nozzle, basic MOSFET, GFC Tornado high torque motor, O&T 18:1 gears (bust the stock ones with incorrectly placed screw), bearing spring guide, Sugru R hop on the stock barrel. And it's probably the furthest reaching gun I own by a long way. Managed to hit a shed twice out of around 10-12 shots at 98 metres with a bit of elevation. Against the majority of guns on the field I find I can easily outrange them by sometimes the best part of 20 metres. It's a pain in the arse when it comes to barrels, and I do have an overhop problem which makes precise shots within certain distances a nightmare. But the massive inner barrel definitely sets it apart. Bloody heavy after a while. But in my experience the stock piston and head are fine, Teflon the cylinder head into the cylinder, bearing spring guide, a good hop rubber or Sugru hop and a decent velocity and these things will outrange a disgusting amount of other guns.
Well darn, I should have just come to when I was trying to upgrade mine. That would have made the process way easier.
i had a cyma ebr for about 4 years as battle rifle, witout any upgrade apart of a reshimming, and it ran perfectly till the day i sold it, i guess its just matter of what you expect from the things, if you wanna have the ultimate rifle, you'll never end doing things to it
Love my Cyma 14. Run a Prometheus 6.03 inner barrel, modified Maple leaf bucking and an old 3000mah 7.2v Wolfpack RC battery. At 25m i can hit a pen in one shot, 50m head shots all day. My first and only gun but I'm very intricate with things. IT IS A PAIN TO TAKE APART and its more a hassle to take apart than the real thing. Also like the real thing, bedding matters. I fix and work on my buddies guns now, paint and tune and actually fixed another Cyma M14 we gave to a Marine buddy.
Its awesome out of the box with .25's. I shoot .32s with the Prometheus barrel. If you're going to mod it, please seak a professional or your good introverted buddy who overthinks things lol.
Love mine only upgrade fitted a wooden stock and sling
I've had cyma m14 for 6 years only upgrade is the bucking and it still fires great never had a problem with it just because yours is crap it doesn't mean they all are
The trigger is wrapped around the gear box, preventing you from changing anything until you take the trigger off. I consider that a crappy design. And my friend’s CYMA M14 did the same exact thing. And when I returned the gun initially to my local shop to be fixed while it was still under warranty, they said that a lot of people had the same problem with the cut off lever in their M14. So I think you just got a good M14.
Will the cutoff lever really break? I know some people who its never happened to.
That's funny I asked my team and techs and they advised me to get cyma , so I ordered the EBR version made by Matrix for Cyma .
Evike has G&P M14 on sale (Epic Deal) for $248 right now but not sure it's any better than CYMA since it's also a TM clone. The G&G and CA are a bit different. I have CYMA M14 Socom but haven't done anything to it other than shim. It rarely gets used. I did purchase an authentic TM hop up chamber for it but haven't installed it yet.
How important is the cutoff lever if I wanna run it primarily in full-auto? I’ve been eying one of the versions with a pistol grip stock and I wanna turn it into sort of an ”M14 LSW”
It’s possible, but if I remember correctly, it makes the trigger sticky and just annoying to play with. The cut off lever isn’t that hard to replace, nor expensive. So I would just buy a bunch and replace it whenever needed to make life easier.
Is this the same as the Cybergun?
I have this AEG and it's an absolute nightmare 'cause I'm not a mechanic and nobody wants to help me fix it. It still has vanilla components so it's inaccurate, the BBs goes mostly whatever they want and I cannot use it as a DMR. Also, it's kinda the only AEG I have right now and I cannot play because of it's feeding problems, it doesn't get the BBs from the magazines. Since some time I've started to think that a real upgrade would be to get an AR-15 AEG instead of this one. I don't really have much money to spend on Airsoft, I'm thinking about finding a reliable platform to upgrade progressively and that allows me to play in the meantime. I'm thinking about the CM16 Raider from G&G.
Does anybody know if the socom 16 barrel cover is the same size/length of the regular M14 barrel cover? I'm attempting to do a dmr build myself and I want the socom's barrel length but I'd like to remove the front rail and replace the barrel cover. Going for an M1a tanker look. Any responses appreciated.
It's the same. I have a socom and full size M14
Should I buy this or a Tokyo Marui P90
Luckily my bone stock M14 is still kicking, under a joule and barely hopping .25g
My Cyma M14 CM.032 (long version) upgrade. Gearbox Bullgear v7, SHS gears, cylinder, cylinder head, alu noozle, inner barrel Maple Leaf 590mm x 6.02, SHS silicone bucking, SHS high torque motor, mosfet, 140 spring >> result: approx 1100 rounds per minute, 2.2joule ( 390 fps at 0.32g, 480fps at 0.2g) Still working well after approx 30.000 rounds.
Where did you get all of these upgrade? V7 parts are really hard to find
@@bvphil982 Hello. Biggest problem is CNC gearbox. I found only one. Bullgear. 120USD + shipping. Other parts are quite commonly available. Not so much choice like for V3 or V3, but gears, cylinder head, and noozle are avilable on stocks. Piston, piston head, inner barrel, any motor are same as for V3 or V3. There is no available upgrade hop-up unit, but original plastic hop-up is good. No problem to hop-up au to 0,36 or 0,4 balls.
@@bvphil982 I don't want to build DMR. I wanted to build full-auto AEG. At forest events where I go is limit 2.3J for full-auto. My M14 is a more accurate and has a better shooting range, then M4 on same output energy. It is closer to DMR, but still have full-auto. I have two another M4, and sniper VSR at 3.6J, but M14 is my favorite gun.
Thanks!
Sorry it took so long to make this video. Hope it helps!
How much is this setup
I think the gun costs like $180 stock.
Don't buy the G&G or CA M14. They are a proprietary spec that's even more complicated. Mags are also discontinued.
But it looks cool. And that's all that matters in airsoft.
I’ll remember that when the wind at your place whips my BB’s into the stratosphere never to be seen again.
So basicly you cant Tech 😂😂
How did you remove the Orange tip from your m14?
Not sure. Mine got twisted off by accident so try that.
@@dragonarmoryairsoft9590 Thank yoy so much. At least It could be removed even by accident.
5 months late, so you've probably already solved this. There is a small pin in place on the bottom that hold the orange tip in place. Removing that pin will let you remove the orange cap. Every CYMA gun I've bought has been like this.
