Tubolitos are a $35 tube that claims to be half as light and twice as resistant to puncture. They sent me a box of 'em and I went a bit hard with a proper review testing those claims... Sincere thanks to Maty and Parker for taking their bike apart for this... Give them a follow on insta.

If you want to pick up some Tubolitos, you can pick them up directly or you can pick them up from Source (although they're out of stock at the moment, they said there's more on the way), too.

It's like when your a kid and you get those brand new shoes and you think they make you run faster
No it's not. Shoes dont rotate.
🤣
An shoes can make a difference an 4 ounces when put into rotational mass is quite a bit it’s not nothing as they said.
@B.M.J. Records fo sho cut the wind like a razor well moving fast as a cheetah.... LMFAO you brought up a 2005 memory for me when I purchased my first car it was a grey v6 charger with black vinyls and 20 in rims I thought it was the shit and pretty fast for what it was.it was a super nice car but looking back some of the vinyls were shit.
@B.M.J. Records yeah it was a dodge charger
As Parker mentioned, the biggest tell would be to go back to regular tubes. You don't often notice as much when things get easier, but when they get harder it's pretty clear to you right away.
Went to my local bike shop read bikes mostly but he tried to sell me a tube for$ 23.00 ! I asked does that include installation he said for an extra $10 he would I walked out and went to Walmart and got 3 tubes . Good year at that
keep the receipt and you can take them back lol if they pop
"I'm not saying that was scientific"...that was actually the best test of these tubes that I've seen.
Saving ounces on the wheel, will feel like pounds on the rest of the bike. Double butted spokes makes a world of difference. These tubes can only help even more.
I almost bought some last night until I thought for a second, "I'm about to spend $80 on a pair a tubes." Nah, REMOVE FROM CART 🤣I'd glady accept them as a gift though
They have really come down in price in a year. I’m seeing a pair on sale < $30.
I’m enjoying these videos you’re doin.. nobody else is doin this kind of content.. keep it comin..
I’ve just ordered these tubes...and the way these guys are describing it, it’s sounds like there trying to describe tubeless!
What would have been really interesting is to switch the tubes without them knowing first.
Could have been dangerous honestly turn a little to much and you can fuck yourself up real fast
@@milkboi2386 it won't change handling it just cuts weight and if you ride your tires properly pumped up it's not an issue
It's a tough call, I think they just need to be a little cheaper. Also most tyres are very heavy these days so going for some foldable tyres is probably more cost effective.
I went with a shadow seprent tire front and another foldable (s&m) at the back vs rigid old style tires. Huge difference! It's like upgrading a pc from HDD to SSD. "Affordable" and really effective. I can't imagine what it would be if i go with these tubes.
It looks interesting, finally some innovation in the tube department, but I can't imagine a world where this would be a commercial success.
would be worth it if they don't get pinch flats
BMX riders are not the only market. Roadies care about weight even more and spend a lot more than 35 bucks to save a few grams (even more important when it is rotational weight).
@@simonr7097 yes, but I still think that aiming at non casual bike market with tubes is a miss
@@simonr7097 roadies are starting to go tubeless or always have latex for a lighter feel, but you are right.
I like that someone is trying to make the tube better. It seems to be the most overlooked park on a bike and it keeps us off the ground so arguably its the most important part of a bicycle. But for 35 dollars I could almost buy some folding tires that are more than four ounces lighter instead and I feel like those would last longer. I go through tubes so much I would spend a fortune if I ran these. Patching tubes doesn't work where I live because the thorns and glass are everywhere and without slime I get about 20 flats a month.
Loving this “series”
Loving these videos, keep them up!
This was a great video. I'm digging the direction Ourbmx is going in
Thanks dude!
How about that Swamp Fest coverage this year - 2022?!!! 💪😎👌
I brought two of these tubes, two brand new wheels and double thick rim tape, after 3 rides my tyres were completely flat and wach tube had 7 punctures from the spokes, even through the extra thick rim tape. The tubes felt great but they just dont last
Sounds like incompetence. Been riding the same pair for 3 years.
I’ve spent 35 in tubes in a few weeks of course I’m sold. I invented a set up cause I was tired of pinch flats with certain rims. I hear the impact or landing sound when tires hit sounds unique
Talcum powder
@Real Donald Trump
I like my psi at a very hard 35 psi for going fast in bowl
@Real Donald Trump you do realize a pinch flat can come from improper installation? Put a tube in twisted and inflate to the recommended psi, itll pop from the pinch flat. I ride 110psi tires too which are not low pressure
It would be interesting to do a solid control test with 3 brand new bikes. Regular tubes, the super fat thick tubes and the Tubolito
im digging the parts review/over type vids. bmx needs more of this.
:)
I haven't had tubolitos long, so I can't say how long they last, but they are definitely WAAAAAY lighter and made a difference I could actually feel.
What pressure do you run? I'm curious about these. Defo worth the money for weight and strength, but not if the rebound feels really dead at lower pressures (for me).
@@eskimo4130 9 months late but I run 55PSI and they feel great
@@Valz-xy2ex Good to hear :)
@@eskimo4130 still working?
@@lalshortshot2051 quoted wrong person bud. I've not tried these still as i run very low pressure
10:16 was awesome!
great review! loved the technical component followed by the practical review of the tubes in use! More product reviews please there are so many bmx nerds out there like me that eat up shit like this
Thanks! Reviews are easy when the product is so different from the norm, but I do have a few ideas. If there's something you'd like to see, I'm all ears (or eyes).
I found your video after looking at the tubes one google your reviews on the tube from you and your friends has made me consider getting one! I subbed to your channel keep shredding!
Hell yeah, thanks dude!
Riding was super sick! Park looks fun! 👍
Second time watching this video, and I like the review. But am I going to buy, may be. So I can do my own review. To be continued. Good show Ryan!
Ive never seen these guys ride, but wow they were awesome!
13:15 Holy Jesus now that's some serious air lol !
im curious to see how they hold up with smaller tires, ie 20X1.75 vs. 20X2.35-2.5 (in this video).. larger tires can handle more abuse so
they are hands down amazing i promise you feel the difference , the rotational weight on bars and whips you feel light as hell!!! However they pop very very easy
Would like to see how flat land guys like the tubes
I was running 125 psi in them for about 1 hour and BANG Front wheel goes first ,the next day the back went ,stick with cheap tubes they last forever !
It’s cool they are trying new things. As time goes on, maybe they will get cheaper. I’m not much of a person to bother about weight so I never looked into them. I just kinda get used to what ever I put on. Interested in how they hold up to objects on the street. I get maybe 2 flats a month because of stuff I run over but I just patch and maybe change the tube after 6 patches. Will give these a try if I catch them on sale.
Look on eBay and alibaba
We love them we have been running the same pair of them for almost two years when they were only a prototype. That’s with multiple tire changes also #albesbmx
Hell ya thanks for the feed back .
Real Donald Trump my guess would be you ordered the wrong size
I got my Performer from Albe's in 2018. I'm kind of pissed that I wasn't thinking about purchasing some of those dope decals they have. After a light sticker bombing, I don't have one decal from the shop where the original bike was purchased on my bike. I also saw these odd looking tubes, but was kind of sceptical on trying out a set. My bike's a bit customized, but I just ride it casual. I thought that the orange tube would just be something that would be cool looking, but as problematic as the usual rubber tubes we've all had the various issues with.
Do you ride through areas littered with shattered glass from car wrecks and goat head infested trails? I run slime tubes and cult dehart tires that weigh almost three times more than my wheels so that weight is fealt
There it is
Boy, do I wish I have rode BMX when I was a kid. I am old now and can't even do a manual on my mountain bike.
It's never too late.
I want a whole ratty maty part please !!
Do more of this🔥
more videos please. These are awesome.
I made something like that from an industrial hose and a Shraeder valve off an old tube. It was horribly stiff but didn’t flat.
The guy with the full face helmet use the word "like" in every sentence
The tube with the more mass presents bigger difficulty to change its rotational status ( for ex. to stop while moving ) or to change direction of moving. You could say the lighter one is easier to handle also the faster you go the more you feel the difference
If for no other reason, I'd love to have these for a more minimal bike repair kit. Most of my bikes are either tubeless or have puncture protection tires (Schwalbe marathons). That makes me feel good for short rides around town or just a 5 mile mountain bike loop, but when I go on long rides I still feel like I need to carry spare tubes just in case. How amazing would it be to get what I needed into a jersey pocket instead of a saddle bag? Or slimming down to a sling instead of a small backpack when commuting to work with my other gear? Or even cargo pockets? Thanks for the video!
Impact sound sounds more basketball ball like but it comes from a high psi though
Thanks for putting a nail to them
On the environmental angle. It’s actually worth considering because vulcanised runner can’t be recycled nearly as easily or efficiently as plastic. So actually
Good point. There's also some info on www.tubolito.com/en/ that says it takes less energy to produce 'em, too. Wish I would have noticed that before I put the video together...
Never tryed Tubolito inner tubes might try to see what there like i run 80 psi in the back and 60 psi in the front
I got some and love them
These go on my wish list, next to the Profile Z coaster.. I wish it was 35 for a SET of 2 though! Still, I guess it's a cheaper way to shave weight then going to titanium parts.
I'm thinking of getting one when tax time comes
I think it's cool to see innovation in the tube game, but I'm too cheap for these. If they come down in price then maybe someday.
Este video es increible! sick
The review is interesting lad! Would be nice to have the unit conversion in bar, meters, kg etc.. Would make the video easier to watch for European
Sorry about that. I’ll take that into consideration next time I do a video like this 🙌
And everywhere else in the world to.
6:00 the guy reminds me of Gabby Johnson from blazing saddles
NASA certified nail through board on old scale.
I really wanna buy one of those but I just can't afford it right now
The nail and board? 😀
I bought them because I kept getting tears in my rubber tubes where the seams are. I have had these tubes for 10 months and no issues so far. I have probably saved money tbh, but I got them for $22 rather than $35.
The Schwalbe SV 6A weighs 65 gram, price is around 6 euro. I guess this answers the question.
as a man that goes through inner tubes a lot i feel like i need to try this because i love to ride bikes i have 3 of them but my problem is all of my bikes right now are blown out tires and inner tubes and i am quite hard on my tires i take my bmx bike on off road trails and anywhere from dirt to rocks my inner tube blows and most of the time it’s a small leak somewhere and then i have to walk my bike to go get it full of air i feel like if i had this inner tube it would be better because when your riding your bike 2 miles average a day you go through tubes fairly quick so when i’m riding down the road and there’s a curb i do what any person would pop the front tire up and then let the back go over the curb so my back tire is always popping i’ve been looking for a strong tire so if y’all have any tips for me i don’t ride skate parks and i ride street so if y’all have any tips or tricks i ride a bmx bike with a 8 dollar inner tube at 30 to 40 psi if y’all have any tips let me know please
I think if you would change your spokes to ti and your tube to tubolito you could clearly feel the difference which rotation inertia does
what about putting Slime, Orange or other sealant in them?
The Real benefit comes in against pinch flats...The material is more rigid than regular tubes so, they are less likely to create tire rollout at lower psi. I have been using them for a few months now and they are definitely light. I got a pair for 22.99ea.. at Bikeinn.com with a patch kit, so I figured why not. They hold up quite well. It's more about less flats than just the weight savings.... Enjoyed the Linda Vista coverage, thank OurBMX....
Babylon falling I’m riding street and park. I run 50-60 psi
Babylon falling Sunday Sound Wave V3... its all about the wave tubing...
What PSI do you guys run your tires at? I'm 60 in the back 40 in the front
Great skills !
Please , please , please , please , pleaseeeee do this test to the dudes who rides very low psi . Most probably albert mercado , aaron ross , travis hughes , and most important , simone !
Demo and Nathan said they'd be down to try 'em out. Albert was a little iffy. I'll see about making a street version next month.
Apples to oranges but road biking I switched from rubber to latex tubes and haven't looked back. Tubes can make a difference. $35 though ? Damn. I thought carbon fibre was expensive.
Here in the Philippines the price of black tube is $1 😊
Not all black tubes are the same.
Yeah we have inner tubes that cost a dollar here too. But they're garbage. Most likely the one you're buying is too.
That tube makes me want to go buy a bike just to have it lol
You should let someone try the tubes, then while they are swapping tubes and not paying attention tape a weight onto their bike to make up the difference. Wonder how that would turn out.
Prank channel??
10:10 Yeh Boy!! 😂
I have seen lots of riders have blow outs in competition with them.
I don't think any tube can survive landing sideways on flair whip from 15 feet up.
Yo Our BMX, are racers using it yet?
@@AlienLivesMatter I raced on them. Had them in my Maxxis tires and the rear one got flat in a week. I guess having 90PSI and the force of a gate start is not that compatible with these tubes. Maybe I should have used a second rim strip in there... (Front tube IS holding up good though)
i know this was so long ago but i was wondering what it be like if they was in a bmx tire then you ride in rain through glass i havent finished the vid but if you see this could u try?
Are they any good for 20” trials riding
they need to offer it with different color valve options. lmao.
Shout out to Mogollon on the back there!!!
He was ripping, but obviously this video was about the tubes. I'll get him in a video soon, though!
The tricks look beautiful in 1.75x speed
11:46 💪🏻💪🏻
I don’t even have to watch this I been riding the same 4 dollar Walmart tubes forever now
What? 2 quick lab tests and 15 mins of tricks? Really? A friend of mine could not put those dry patches in a tubolito in the cold winter, and it got puntched 3 times in 2 weeks. And another friend said everybody exploded them in the Fise contest.
This video was filmed over ten days, not 15 minutes of riding. Pretty much everyone at FISE runs these tubes, so it makes sense that the tubes that exploded were Tubolitos. Hard to know/justify that a traditional tube wouldn't explode under the same circumstances.
@Babylon falling A tube blows out when the tire de-beads from the rim, generally when landing sideways. Tires/tubes don't blow from good, clean landings at 60psi or 100psi.
it's all in your head. But the strength test look like it held up on the nail
I think a better test would be letting them ride it for two days or so, and then putting normal tubes in. Maybe not the best analogy for the crowd, Idk, but if you play fps games on 30 ping, and it drops to 10 you don't notice too too much, BUT if get used to that and then your ping goes back up it feels like absolute unplayable shit.
7 to 8 bucks per normal tube... im living in spain and i know a place with good tubes for 1,70 in euros... crazy..
so the tires feel harder at less psi. what psi did he run on the street? so for street, now we will have to run 25psi compared to 45psi
The difference is because of the thickness/material of the Tubolito vs the traditional tube...kind of like riding a really thick tire with a bunch of tread versus a smoother, low-profile tire. In the end, PSI is still PSI, but it's up to your personal preference.
I run 2.5 20 inch 100 psi
Since I refuse to give up brakes, $70 is pretty cheap to shed some weight.
Need a link to order that nasa certified nail in board scale mechanism for the shop.
Currently working on a patent before I go to mass market. 🤝🤝
I dont know anything about them but road cyclists love them apparently. Lesser rolling resistance and more speed. Maybe BMX racers are tubeless or running a latex tube. No idea on that.

what if you did some with other gimmicky-seeming products and used like, amatuer guys who have yet to develop any professional ties to a specific brand so they can be honest? always funny when i watch a bike check and they have nothing negative to say because theyre getting paid to be nice
Hoping to do some independent product reviews when it makes sense. Thanks dude!
@@OurBMX What would have been really interesting is to switch the tubes without them knowing first.

i have $3 tube and its ok :D
Anyone know where that first park is?
11:31 Yo is that my boy Pete Andrade?
What material is it, Latex? A quick google search "latex inner tube" and same brand road bike tube is the 4th thing.
Unsure. It's more of a plastic...you may be able to find an answer on www.tubolito.com/en/, but I didn't have much luck.
B E A U T I F U L 2 0 2 0 THANKSFOR THE INFO
Not worth it in my case, maybe because I used very high pressure(a obove 100psi). First day in indoor skatepark was fine but the moment I went to streets and outside parks I had like 4-5 punctures within a week. I guess I'll try with lower pressure
You ride 100psi on Street? Bye bye wrists
@@jeremiahgoodwin3408 to get around between spots/parks mainly
@@mgp5134 I ride 65psi
Ok I tried 80psi, got a puncture after 7min ride. I give up on them. So frustrating and such a waste od money. Maybe because I ride KHE tires which are quite thin but it doesn't change the fact that tubolito claim to be 'more durable and puncture resistant' is wrong. Normal tubes hold up for months.
Damn 4-5 flats in a week? Do you ride on broken glass or coral reefs all day
Maybe twice as tough with a 7 lb bike (which is unheard of). But you add my 230 lbs to my 24lb bike, and they're the same. They will both fail
Not everything that punctures a tire is a nail. I'm not saying with any factual basis, but the results make me think that the tubes are resistant to most thorns.
Are bmx racers using it yet?
Lasted me only a few hours after getting a random flat while pedaling (looks like I picked a small glass shard)! What a horrible overpriced product. I haven't had a flat for more than a year with normal cheap butyl tubes.
So can you run less psi but it feel harder ?
Yeah, I didn't know how to explain that without it being super nerdy, but Maty was able to feel the difference in the hard plastic compound in Tubolitos vs the thick rubber in the traditional tube. Pretty wild.
I dont ride 'm but i think that because they're less stretchy
What kind of Bmx is that ?
You should have did a blind test with the riders. Let them ride black tubes for an hour take there bikes. Get 4 riders, Check tire pressure change tubes on all or none give bike back with same tire pressure and see what happens.
real question: since these are plastic instead of rubber... will they hold helium?!
Unless the patch is different to others they're never as strong after a patch so for doing drops or landing flat it can be risky. Why we toss away tubes in bmx.
So science here. Rotational weight is affected by rotation speed. So at slow speeds or the wheel stopped no difference except basically the real lost weight. At high speeds it can be like 4 times as much felt weight lost.
It can maybe go higher. But it depends on speed. If you do alot of shit at like a half crank to a crank in speed then its not as big as say if you Gary Young 9-30 at everything.
